Filter by:This is an observational study in which only data are collected from participants receiving their usual treatment. The study is done in people with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). HFrEF is a long-term condition in which the heart does not pump blood as well as it should. Blood and fluid may collect in the lungs, blood vessels, and tissues causing shortness of breath or tiredness. Over time, heart failure can lead to other serious medical conditions that may result in hospital stays and death. The study treatment vericiguat works by increasing the activity of an enzyme called soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC). sGC helps to regulate the heart and blood circulation. Vericiguat has already been studied in previous clinical studies and is available for doctors to prescribe to people with heart failure. This study will collect important data from real-world setting in Korea. The participants of this study are people with HFrEF who will receive vericiguat as prescribed by their doctors according to the approved product information. The main purpose of this study is to learn more about how safe vericiguat is in the participants. To do this, researchers will collect data on all medical problems (also called adverse events) that the participants have during the study. Doctors keep track of all adverse events, even if they do not think they might be related to the study treatment. Further, researchers will collect data on how well vericiguat works and treatment patterns in the participants. For this, the following information will be collected: - occurrence of death due to heart and circulatory events - hospital stays due to heart conditions (failure) - dose levels of vericiguat and duration of treatment The data for this study will come from medical records and visits that take place in routine practice. Participants will be treated with vericiguat and observed up to 12 months or until death or they leave the study, whatever comes first.

Bone marrow transplantation is both a great treatment for patients with hematological diseases. It is also one of the only hopes of staying alive by "starting from scratch". It is a trying life experience, at all its stages. To support these patients and increase their success in healing and returning to a "normal life", quality of life is an ally of choice for the success of care. NewSpringForMe is an innovative tool designed for the benefit of transplant patients, through the deployment of unprecedented interdisciplinary support benefiting from the best digital technologies. This digital solution is aimed at all patients, adults and pediatrics, before, during and after bone marrow transplantation, in a long-term approach. NewSpringForMe results from the multidisciplinary collaboration of medical and paramedical experts in the field of hematology and transplantation, as well as in the field of psychology. With NewSpringForMe, each transplant patient has a personalized and scalable space accessible via a web platform, constantly offering, according to their needs and at their own pace, a range of recommendations, tools and exercises in psychology, nutrition / dietetics and physical activity, the three pillars of overall well-being. Perfectly integrated into the care pathway and the transplant protocol, from the announcement of the treatment to the long-term follow-up, several years after the intervention, NewSpringForMe complements the medical treatments provided by the medical profession: the communication of the assessments from the platform as well as patient data for caregivers allows adaptation of therapies and optimization of medical care. Thanks to the consideration of individual parameters and their evolution, and thanks to specific algorithms, each tool is adapted to the course of care and to the life of each patient, as well as to their personal health situation throughout their transplant journey. In order to demonstrate the benefits of using NewSpringForMe, the project plans to evaluate the platform and its impact on the quality of life in patients with hematological diseases. This evaluation will be done by the patients themselves and by the nursing staff. The evaluation will be carried out using a monocentric approach on a pilot cohort. The objective is to demonstrate that integrative health ensuring simultaneous care of body and mind increases the chances of success of the transplant while limiting post-transplant complications.
The goal of this prospective observational study is to describe the incidence of reverse trigger (RT) in mechanically ventilated patients with diagnosis of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The main questions it aims to answer are: - Real incidence of RT based on continuous monitoring - The response to mechanical ventilatiory adjustments Participants will be included as soon as neuromuscular blockers (NMB)/sedation is stopped or in case of spontaneous respiratory efforts detection, whatever happens first. Continuous monitoring will be performed by esophageal manometry until switch to a pressure support (spontaneous) mode, restart of deep sedation/neuromuscular blockers by medical indication, or death. In order to allow detection of possible RT in patients with ongoing sedation/NMB, mechanical ventilator waveforms will be screened every 1-2 hours by investigators and critical care physicians with at least 1 year of specific training in detection of dyssynchronies.
To investigate the intervention effect of high-definition transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (HD-tDCS) on patients with Non-suicidal Self-injury (NSSI) and its underlying neural mechanism by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Acute respiratory infections are common diseases worldwide with the highest incidence and mortality rates, especially among children. Currently, the prevention of acute respiratory infections in children still faces certain limitations. Although there is a vaccine available for influenza, there are no vaccines yet for RSV and adenovirus in children, and influenza vaccination needs to be repeated annually to achieve optimal effectiveness. Therefore, maintaining respiratory and throat hygiene is essential for both treatment and prevention, ensuring respiratory health for children and reducing the risk of bacterial co-infections. In recent years, preventive strategies for respiratory inflammation have garnered increasing attention, with probiotics being shown to have the potential to support treatment and prevention & reduce the risk of recurrent respiratory infections, thus decreasing reliance on antibiotics. Here, the investigators propose that direct nasal spraying of probiotics may be safe and effective in preventing respiratory diseases. The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of two types of nasal- praying Bacillus probiotics including LiveSpo Navax (1 billion/mL x 30 mL B. subtilis and B. clausii) and LiveSpo Navax Kid (0.6 billion/mL x 30 mL B. subtilis and B. clausii) in preventing respiratory diseases. Study Population: The sample size is 600. Description of Sites: The study is conducted at preschools in Son Tay Province, Hanoi, Vietnam. Description of Study Intervention: A total of 600 eligible children are randomly divided into three groups (n = 200/group each). Children in the Control group received 0.9% NaCl physiological saline twice daily (morning and afternoon), with 2 sprays in each nostril and 2 sprays in the throat each time (totally 6 sprays each time), continuously for four weeks. Children in the Probiotic 1 group receive LiveSpo Navax product, and children in the Probiotic 2 group receive LiveSpo Navax Kid, with the same dosage and frequency as the Control group. Study Duration: 12 months.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are associated with concomitant lesions of the anterolateral ligament (ALL), which increase rotatory instability of the knee. If untreated, ALL insufficiency can compromise the results of ACL reconstruction, with higher risk of iterative ACL tear or additional meniscal lesion. Several surgical techniques have been described to reconstruct the ALL. Indications are increasingly frequent and actually, consensus being young patients, patients practising pivot sports, significant rotational laxity on clinical examination with a positive pivot shift test, or in cases of iterative surgery. To date, the two most popular techniques are the Lemaire technique (use of a fascia lata strip) and LAL reconstruction plasty (use of part of an accessory hamstring tendon). The older Lemaire procedure, popularized in the 1980s has proved its efficiency in terms of biomechanics, safety and reproducibility. More recently, following a new, precise anatomical description, anterolateral ligament plasty (ALL) has been developed, which is intended to be more anatomical than Lemaire's technique, but whose clinical superiority has not yet been demonstrated. Both techniques are currently used in our department, with the choice of technique left to the surgeon's discretion. To date, no randomized prospective study has demonstrated the clinical superiority of one technique over the other with a long term follow up. The aim of this study was to compare graft survival of ALL reconstruction versus modified Lemaire LET in combination with ACL reconstruction with a minimum follow up of 2 years. Secondary aim was to compare functional outcomes between both groups.
The goal of this intervention study is to test behavioral interventions in night shift workers. The main question it aims to answer is: • Can personalized sleep or nutrition intervention strategies help against the negative health effects of night shift work? Participants will be followed before and after the intervention. Participants will wear smart devices, do a alertness/performance test and complete questionnaires. Blood samples will be collected. Researchers will compare the intervention groups to the control group (which receives no intervention) to see if the sleep and nutrition interventions affected the health of night shift workers.
