A Study of Ixazomib, Given With Dexamethasone in Adults With Multiple Myeloma

The main aim of this study is to learn if ixazomib, given with dexamethasone, stops the cancer from getting worse in people with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. It will be compared to another medicine called pomalidomide, given with dexamethasone with people with the same condition. Relapsed means the previous cancer treatment stopped working, over time. Refractory means they did not respond to previous cancer treatment. Another aim is to check for side effects from the study medicines. At the first visit, the study doctor will check who can take part. Participants who can take part will be picked for 1 of 2 treatments by chance. - Ixazomib capsules, given with dexamethasone tablets - Pomalidomide capsules, given with dexamethasone tablets All participants will take their study medicine on specific days during a 28-day cycle. The 1st dose of study medicines in each 28-day cycle will take place in the clinic, The other doses of the study medicines will be taken at home. This will happen for 6 cycles. After this, all study medicines will be taken at home. After treatment, participants will visit the clinic every 12 weeks for a check-up. If participants cannot attend their clinic for an important reason (for example, due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the clinic will make alternative arrangements using their local procedures.

Cardiac Functions as a New Method for Evaluation of Fetal Anemia Pre and Post Intrauterine Fetal Blood Transfusion

INTRODUCTION Circulatory changes associated with fetal anemia have an important role in maintaining sufficient tissue oxygenation. With fetal anemia, hyperdynamic circulation and increased cardiac output occurred. In current practice, using Doppler in assessment of the peak systolic velocity (PSV) of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) is the main parameter in screening of fetal anemia. Myocardial performance index (MPI) is a noninvasive technique that evaluates systolic and diastolic cardiac function by pulsed Doppler. Patients and Methods: This prospective study will be carried out on Women with singleton pregnancies with Rh isoimmunization who are scheduled to have intrauterine blood transfusion. Selected patients will be monitored weekly from 18 weeks gestational age till 28 weeks of gestational age. Venous and arterial Doppler indices: 1. Middle cerebral artery (MCA) peak systolic velocity (PSV) 2. Umbilical Artery Pulsitility Index (PI) and Resistant Index (RI) 3. Ductus venosus (DV) Doppler Cardiac functions: 1. Global cardiac function evaluated by Modified Myocardial Performance Index (Mod-MPI) 2. Diastolic cardiac function evaluated by relationship between the maximal velocities of the E and A waveforms of ventricular filling (E/A ratio)

Efficacy of Hemostatic Powder in Preventing Bleeding After Gastric Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection in High-risk Patients: A Prospective Randomized Control Study

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for superficial gastric neoplasm is minimally invasive and achieves curative resection with an acceptable rate of adverse events. Although the safety of ESD has been demonstrated, the procedure is associated with a substantial risk of adverse events, including bleeding, perforation, and stricture. Post-ESD bleeding is the most frequent adverse events and the incidence of post-ESD bleeding in previous studies ranges from 1.8% to 15.6%. Several studies identified that antithrombotic agents and large resection size were strong risk factors for post-ESD bleeding. Moreover, the incidence of bleeding in high-risk patients has been reported to be as high as 61.5%, depending on the definition of high-risk patients. The number of patients at high risk for post-ESD bleeding is increasing worldwide. In addition, as the indications for ESD have been expanding, more patients with large lesions undergo ESD. Therefore, it is important to prevent post-ESD bleeding in high-risk patients. Although several previous studies have attempted to prevent post-ESD bleeding using surgical material, there is no definite prophylactic treatment to prevent re-bleeding after ESD. To date, coagulation of remnant vessels on the post-resection ulcer surface and administration of a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) after ESD are practical methods to prevent post-ESD bleeding. Polysaccharide hemostatic powder (Endo-Clotâ„¢) is a new topical hemostatic method recently used for non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding. This study aimed to identify the efficacy of hemostatic powder in preventing post-ESD bleeding in high-risk patients. This is a multicenter, prospective, randomized study.

The objective of this study is to assess the similarity between QL1101 and Avastin® respectively combined with chemotherapy in terms of efficacy and safety in patients with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. The study intends to include first-line patients with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, and uses QL1101 combined with basic chemotherapy CP (paclitaxel + carboplatin). The regimen is consistent with the usage and dosage of Avastin® at home and abroad indicated for the treatment of non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
