Filter by:We aim to prospectively assess the burden, management and therapeutic approaches and outcomes of acute respiratory failure requiring respiratory support, during the winter months in China. The purpose of this study is to provide new and current data on the disease burden of acute respiratory failure and ARDS. It will answer the following questions: - The frequency and disease burden of acute respiratory failure in China; - The incidence of ARDS based on the new global definition within this patient cohort. - The mortality of ARDS within this cohort, and how does this vary based on ARDS categories and severity. - The long-term outcomes (1-year mortality and survivor quality of life) of ARDS within this cohort. - The nature course of ARDS (different stages and severity of ARDS). - The respiratory support management strategies, such as recruitment maneuvers, prone positioning, ECCO2R, and ECMO. - The use of drugs during ICU stays, including glucocorticoid, anticoagulant, nitric oxide, sivelestat, Xuebijing, and ulinastatin. - The economical burden of acute respiratory failure within this patient cohort. - The impact of occupation, incomes and education levels on the incidence and mortality of ARDS.
This clinical trial studies how well a remotely delivered home-based exercise program for strength training works to positively impact endometrial cancer (EC) survivorship for patients with decreased cancer survivorship access. Cancer survivors in rural areas face barriers to supportive care, including geographic and environmental barriers to exercise and technology. Rural areas in the Midwest are underserved in terms of cancer care thus, it is essential to develop and test interventions that are scalable and can reach many individuals including those living in rural areas. Remotely-delivered exercise intervention approach allows for cancer survivors who may live far away from their primary treatment center to engage in supportive therapy via exercise interventions delivered in a sustainable context. In addition, historically black, hispanic and native endometrial cancer survivors have shorter survival and less access to survivorship care, so alternative models for healthcare delivery are needed in this underserved group. Information gained from this research may help determine whether utilizing a remotely delivered exercise program can positively impact EC survivorship for patients with decreased cancer survivorship access.
The aim of this study is to compare the EzVision® videoryngoscope with conventional laryngoscopy using a Macintosh blade in patients with suspected difficult intubation. This study primarily aims to test the hypothesis that laryngoscopy image is better with EzVision® videoryngoscopy compared to direct laryngoscopy. The secondary hypothesis is also to test the view that, compared to direct laryngoscopy, EzVision® videolingoscopy will improve intubation success, reduce intubation attempts, shorten intubation time, facilitate intubation, and cause less additional complications such as bleeding or sore throat.
The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate the results of medical investigations to identify symptom and biological patterns and common etiologies of neurodevelopmental disorders.
This is a clinical study to evaluate the safety, preliminary efficacy, immunogenicity of SKG0106 in subjects with nAMD.
Peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) is a heterogeneous group of lymphoproliferative diseases caused by mature T cells, accounting for approximately 10% of non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL). PTCLs have a worse prognosis than aggressive B-cell lymphomas; they are less responsive to standard anthracycline-based chemotherapy regimens and responses are less durable. In an analysis of 341 patients with newly diagnosed PTCL who received anthracycline chemotherapy, 3-year PFS and OS rates were 32% and 52%, respectively, significantly inferior to matched patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).And patients who received consolidative hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) had no significant benefit. The prognosis of relapsed/refractory (R/R) patients is even worse. Among the 420 evaluable R/R PTCL patients in the COMPLETE registration study, the median OS of R/R patients were 29 months and 12 months respectively . There is still no effective second-line regimen that can improve patient survival, so treatment options urgently need to be optimized. We designed a randomized, prospective, multi-center phase II clinical trial to explore the efficacy of chidamide combined with gemcitabine, vinorelbine and Mitoxantrone Hydrochloride Liposome (Chi-GVM) in the treatment of patients with R/R PTCL. We expected to further improve ORR, PFS and OS.
This phase Ib trial tests the safety, side effects and how well losartan, pembrolizumab and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for the treatment of patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma that has come back to nearby tissue or lymph node after a period of improvement (locally recurrent), that has not responded to previous treatment (refractory) or that has spread from where it first started to multiple other placed in the body (oligometastatic). Losartan is a drug used to treat high blood pressure that may enhance the effects of other cancer treatments such as immunotherapy and radiation. Immunotherapy with pembrolizumab may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. SBRT is a type of external radiation therapy that uses special equipment to position a patient and precisely deliver radiation to tumors in the body (except the brain). The total dose of radiation is divided into smaller doses given over several days. This type of radiation therapy helps spare normal tissue. Giving losartan, pembrolizumab and SBRT may work better in treating patients with locally recurrent, refractory or oligometastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
ePPS-2202 is a study designed to evaluate the benefits of a dematerialised personalised care plan (PCP) compared to standard information/PCP for patients with advanced sarcomas receiving second-line treatment. Participants will be randomised to an experimental group or a control group. Patients in the experimental group will receive the dematerialised PCP in addition to the standard PCP while patients in the control group will receive the standard PCP alone. All patients will be followed until the end of second-line treatment, the start of a new line of treatment, or until the 24-month follow-up.
The primary objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of tarlatamab plus durvalumab with durvalumab alone on prolonging overall survival (OS).
Intensive care unit-acquired weakness (ICU-acquired weakness) may be caused by a variety of different causes. Several studies have shown that ICU-acquired weakness occurs in up to 30% of critically ill patients. It affects daily activities, walking, and functional performance
