NCT ID: NCT03629639 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Psoriasis Vulgaris With Metabolic Disorders

Metformin for Treatment of Psoriasis Combined With Disorders of Glucose and Lipid Metabolism

MPGLM
Start date: September 1, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Psoriasis and metabolic disorders are well-known mutual comorbidities. The investigators hypothesized metformin can ameliorate both psoriasis and metabolic disorders mainly via gut microbiota modulation. The investigators design a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment of metformin for psoriasis combined with disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism and to explore the role of gut microbiota during the process.

NCT ID: NCT03629574 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Congenital Heart Disease

Mechanical Ventilation During Cardiopulmonary Bypass

VENICE
Start date: August 20, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study is about a protocol of protective mechanical ventilation during cardiopulmonary bypass used during cardiosurgery for the correction of congenital heart diseases, to evaluate what's the best for the lungs

NCT ID: NCT03628157 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Atrophied Anterior Maxillary Ridges

GBR With Ptfe With Bovine Bone With and Without Autogenous

Start date: September 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Ridge Augmentation in Atrophic Anterior Maxillary Ridges with a Titanium Reinforced Polytetraflouroethelene Membrane and Anorganic Bovine Bone-Derived Mineral in intervention group and Anorganic Bovine Bone-Derived Mineralwith Particulated Autogenous Bone Chips in control group. CBCT will be done before surgery, immediate after surgery and 6 month to compare the bone gain in mm. Bone sample will be collected during exposure after 6 month of surgery by trephine bur to assess the bone quality through histo-morphometric analysis in order to determine the size, shape and orientation of the bony trabeculae, the size and porosity of the bony cortex in addition to the new bone/ bone substitute ratio - 1ry outcome: Amount of bone gain will be measured using linear measurements from CBCT immediate after surgery and after 6 month. - 2ry outcome: a bone sample will be collected and analyzed under histo-morphometric analysis.

NCT ID: NCT03625518 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Fetal Growth Retardation

Mode of Induction in Fetal Growth Restriction and Its Affects on Fetal and Maternal Outcomes

Start date: September 2018
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

to compare methods of induction of labor in fetal growth restriction and its effect on maternal and neonatal outcome

NCT ID: NCT03623412 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Glucose Tolerance Impaired in Pregnancy

Women With Minor Degrees of Glucose Intolerance and the Postpartum Glucose Tolerance Test

Start date: August 15, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to offer a 75g postpartum glucose tolerance test to women with minor degrees of glucose intolerance and to assess if these women are significantly different from women who were diagnosed as GDM (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus)

NCT ID: NCT03622034 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Changes in Knee Measurements Between Egyptian and Western Population

Knee Posterior Femoral Condylar Offset and Tibial Slope of the Egyptian Population

knee
Start date: September 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

this study is to compare the posterior condylar offset , posterior condylar offset ratio and tibial slope of Egyptian population with Asian and Western results. These results may be important to examine if contemporary total knee arthroplasty components match the anatomy of Egyptian populations or they are significantly different with the need of different prosthesis designs and geometrics.

NCT ID: NCT03621462 Not yet recruiting - Melanoma (Skin) Clinical Trials

Elucid Labs AIDA™ - Labelled Image Acquisition Protocol

Start date: October 15, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Diagnosis of melanoma involves physical examination of the lesion with many dermatologists adjunctively employing dermoscopes. The rate of misdiagnosis of melanoma remains significant, along with a high rate of referral to biopsy. Elucid Labs (Waterloo, Ontario) has developed a novel handheld, digital dermoscope with accompanying visualization and analysis software - the Artificial Intelligence Dermatology Assistant (AIDA™). Apart from collecting conventional demoscopic images, AIDA also collects images at various spectral bands. The aim of this study is to understand and quantify the value of this novel adjunctive information for dermatologists diagnosing atypical skin lesions.

NCT ID: NCT03621150 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Tendinoligamentous Injury of the Ankle

Dynamic Ultrasound in Evaluation of Tendo-ligamentous Ankle Injury

Start date: September 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Several imaging modalities, such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound (US) can be used to evaluate the ankle. However, US has several benefits for the evaluation of the tendons and ligaments of the ankle, such as its suitability to be integrated with a dynamic assessment and a stress test, its ability to provide real-time analysis, its avoidance of the risk of radiation exposure, and its cost-effectiveness. US is especially powerful when used to evaluate a tear, subluxation, or dislocation in a dynamic examination and when performing a comparison with the contralateral extremity. Dynamic imaging with muscle contraction or passive movement is often helpful. Additionally, Doppler imaging may be used to distinguish small intrasubstance tears from blood vessels that can occur in a tendinopathic tendon.

NCT ID: NCT03617796 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome

Prognostic Value of CD64 Marker for Patients in Intensive Care Unit

CD64
Start date: September 10, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Among patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), early recognition of those with the highest risk of death is of paramount importance. Since clinical judgment is sometimes uncertain biomarkers could provide additional information likely to guide critical illness management. We want to evaluate the prognostic value of leucocyte surface expression of CD64. Blood samples for CD64 biomarker measurement will be obtained daily during the patient's hospitalization. The primary outcome was all-cause death at D28 after admission

Start date: October 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The worldwide incidence of trichomoniasis was estimated to be 276.4 million new cases per year in 2008 .In Egypt, the reported prevalence rate ranges from 5% to 79.16% we aim to study genetic variability of Trichomonas vaginalis using PCR
