Filter by:Implant retained overdentures provided more satisfaction with regard to conventional denture related problems such as esthetics, speech, chewing, fit and retention, function and quality of life. Evaluation of patient satisfaction allows direct quantification of patients' opinions on different aspects of a given treatment. Studies have indicated that conventional complete denture wearers rehabilitated with mandibular implant supported overdenture experience better retention and stability, improved overall function and satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is one factor that influences the success of overdenture treatment(Naert, Alsaadi et al. 2004). Previous studies have shown a difference between patients' satisfaction with their dental prostheses and clinicians' assessments of patients' oral condition.(Emami, Heydecke et al. 2009).This indicates that clinical assessments of dentures are not valid predictors of patient satisfaction. The two primary methods used to fabricate these restorations may be subtractive (milling and grinding) or additive manufacturing (Rapid Prototype, RP or 3D printing), The 3D printing technology has been incorporated into dentistry, but does not include ceramics and is limited to polymers. 3D printing by rapid prototyping has many advantages which are the availability of high production rate where the technician can easily produce over 150 units per hour. Also the quality control of wax copings which results in high precision fit and constant wall thickness. This will result in better stability and retention and consequently patient satisfaction. Finally is the reduced finishing work needed on cast copings. The irregularities in wax coping thickness can be avoided.
The study is to evaluate the effect of 3D printed modified Twin Block Appliance on skeletal Class II profile correction. The null hypothesis of this research is that use of 3D Printed Twin Block is not able to induce skeletal rather than dental effects for correction of the skeletal Class II malocclusion in comparison with untreated growing Class II control subjects.
-Describe platelet activity in type 2 diabetes as a participant in vascular inflammation. -Compare platelet activity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus versus healthy controls. -Study and describe platelet activity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in association with ischemic cardiovascular disease in relation to duration of diabetes mellitus .
Generalized aggressive Periodontitis (GAgP) and chronic periodontitis (CP) are inflammatory diseases. Little is known about molecular changes and signaling cascade of host response. Inflammatory diseases are undercontrol of genetic and enviromental factors. Transcription factors are gene-specific factors that are often considered to act as a link connecting genetic and enviromental factors. The aim of this study is to investigate the gene regions that are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of GAgP and CP, and to interpret new and reliable pathognomonic-prognostic markers in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases with the help of expression and mutation analyzes and polymorphism studies.
A retrospective cohort study was performed in patients with angina pectoris who were treated with oral Chinese patent medicine and Western medicine. The hospital's medical record management system was used to collect symptoms of angina pectoris, dose and frequency of nitroglycerin use, clinical biochemical test and imaging examination. To explore the clinical efficacy of Chinese patent medicine in the treatment of coronary heart disease with angina pectoris, and provide reliable data support for its clinical application.
A prospective cohort study was performed in patients with angina pectoris who were treated with oral Chinese patent medicine and Western medicine.Collect primary and secondary efficacy indicators such as the incidence of cardiovascular events, using clinical samples to detect genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, intestinal flora and sclerotia. To explore the clinical efficacy of Chinese patent medicine in the treatment of coronary heart disease with angina pectoris, and provide reliable data support for its clinical application.
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled phase II clinical study. It is planned to recruit 74 patients with acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Anfibatide as an adjuvant therapy for plasma exchange in patients with acquired TTP.
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which is common and well known in children, persists into adulthood in more than 60% of cases, with significant impact on quality of life. Professional domain is particularly impaired. The investigators hypothesize that ADHD symptoms causes professional difficulties, on the emotional, cognitive, physical and relational levels. The main objective of this study is to better characterize these professional difficulties at to follow-up these difficulties after one year. Difficulties will be assessed by questionnaires and semi-directive interview. The secondary objective is to determine what factors modulate these difficulties and what compensation strategies are implemented to address the patients.
Background: Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) or Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS) is characterized by pulmonary insufficiency, in preterm neonates and is the major cause of death in preterm. Neurophysiological facilitation of Respiration (NFR) technique produce reflex respiratory movement response, as it involves application of external proprioceptive and tactile stimuli that is known to alter the rate and depth of breathing Aim: This study is being conducted to determine the effectiveness of NFR in preterm neonates diagnosed with RDS. Methods: In this study 30 preterm (1- 8 days) neonates diagnosed with Respiratory Distress Syndrome will be taken and assigned into two groups,Experimental group (n=15) and control group (n=15). Neonates within eight days of birth those born before 37 weeks of gestation, diagnosed with RDS were included in the study. Neonate undergone recent surgery or congenital disorder, or medically unstable will be excluded. Data analysis: Normality of the collected data will be analyzed with either two of the normality test i.e. Shapiro Wilk test and Kolmogorov Smirnov test based on sample size. Demographics characteristic of collected sample will be expressed in a mean standard deviation or median and range based normality. For Between group comparison Independent t test or Mann Whitney U test and for within group comparison paired t test or Wilcoxon singed ranked test will be used.
This is a phase I/II trial in preterm infants aimed at identifying the optimal dose of budesonide with bovine lipid extract surfactant as vehicle for intratracheal administration.
