NCT ID: NCT04234308 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Suture Related Complication

Properties of Absorbable and Nonabsorbable Suture Material in Dental Surgery

Start date: March 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A suture is a biomedical device that is made of natural or synthetic materials. Sutures are used to close tissue surfaces until wounds heal and regain their ability to withstand normal stresses. Although different suture materials are available for various dental procedures, clinicians commonly neglect to select sutures based on their mechanical properties and capabilities. Instead, clinicians rely on their clinical experience to determine which suture material will suffice for wound closure and healing. To our knowledge, there have been no published studies detailing the results of mechanical testing on sutures after clinical application. The aim of this study is to clinically, histologically, and mechanically assess the four common sutures used in periodontal and dental surgery, with the hopes of providing clinicians with a guide that will allow them to choose sutures based on the clinical, histological, mechanical properties that best fit the stress and strain applied to the wound.

NCT ID: NCT04229849 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Anrotenib Plus Toripalimab Versus Toripalimab in Patients With Advanced Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Start date: January 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of anrotenib plus toripalimab in the treatment of advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. In addition, the investigators will explore the possible mechanisms of anrotinib combined with toripalimab in advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and screen out biomarkers that can predict the efficacy of combination therapy.

NCT ID: NCT04229537 Not yet recruiting - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Start date: March 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of SCT-I10A combined SCT200 or SCT-I10A combined SCT200 plus chemotherapy in advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and colorectal cancer

NCT ID: NCT04229511 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Urinary Tract Infections

Development of Risk Score Model and Decision Tree Algorithm for Predicting Infections With CRKp in Colonized Patients

DETERMINE
Start date: April 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

DETERMINE trial is a prospective multicenter multinational cohort study. This study will be carried out to predict the risk of bloodstream infections (BSIs) or other types of invasive infection with carbapenem resistant K.pneumoniae in patients being colonized by CRKp. The results of DETERMINE trial would be quite important to prevent unnecessary coverage of carbapenem resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae in empirical treatment of colonized patients. In this study, both risk score model and decision tree algorithm will be constructed and compared with each other in terms of sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value.

NCT ID: NCT04228393 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Pediatric

The Individualized Treatment of 6-mercaptopurine in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in China

Start date: February 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of individualized treatment of 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) in Chinese children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and to investigate the dose-concentration-response (DER) relationship between thiopurine metabolites and adverse events. The individualized administration of 6-MP was established in Chinese children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT04228081 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Bacterial Urinary Tract Infection

MicroUDxTM: a Rapid Diagnostic Tool That Will Prevent Death and Disability From Common Infections

MicroUDxTM
Start date: August 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Background & Rational: Antibiotics are a major underpinning of modern medicine. The global rise of antimicrobial resistant (AMR) organisms is a serious world health problem. With few new antimicrobial drugs on the horizon, it is imperative that we develop novel approaches to extend the service life of our existing drugs. AMR is a complex problem that is being driven by a wide range of factors. More than half of the antibiotics prescribed have no medical benefit, and outpatient visits for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a major contributor to this problem. Recent studies have shown that nearly half of people treated for UTIs receive the wrong frontline drug and in 75% of patients, the duration of therapy is inappropriate. Limitations in the current diagnostic technology make it impossible to identify UTI pathogens and measure their antibiotic sensitivities during the short out-patient clinical visits that are typical for most UTI patients. These circumstances result in the inappropriate use of stronger than necessary or inappropriate antimicrobials. The aim of this study is to develop and evaluate a system that can detect bacteria in urine and find the best antibiotic in under 4 hours, thus enabling a rapid diagnosis and use of the most appropriate and cost-effective antimicrobial agent for the agent detected.

NCT ID: NCT04225910 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Castration-resistant Prostate Cancer

Clinical Trial of Ac225-PSMA Radioligand Therapy of Metastatic Castration-resistant Prostate Cancer

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The death of prostate cancer patients is mainly due to metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Though some new therapies has been tried to prolong the life-span of mCRPC patients, a dilemma was encountered for the drug-resistance. The PSMA RLT has been tested its efficacy and safety for the therapy of these patients. In our clinical trial, a new PSMA ligand will been used to be labeled with Ac225. This will be a prospective pilot clinical trial. 20 mCRPC patients who was incapable of 2rd ADT or chemotherapy will be recruited in this clinical tiral. The efficacy and safety of 225Ac-PSMA will be evaluated after the administration.

NCT ID: NCT04225702 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction

Effect Of Aspirin Preoperative on Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction In Elderly Patients Undergoing Knee Arthroplasty

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Studies have shown that the lifetime risk of developing symptomatic knee osteoarthritis is 40% in men and 47% in women; and the risk can be increased to 60% when the patient's BMI reaches 30 kg/m2. In this population, knee replacement is the most common, effective, and cost-effective method in all treatments with reducing pain, improving joint function and quality of life. Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is a common complication in the elderly, and its incidence can reach 25-40% in major non-cardiac surgery. As for POCD can prolong hospital stay, increase mortality and morbidity, and increase social and economic burden, it is especially important for the prevention and treatment of POCD. However, The mechanism of POCD is still unclear. Studies suggest that it may involve inflammation and oxidative stress in the central nervous system. But for the elderly, they are in a state of low inflammatory response. At the same time, surgery and tourniquets also can trigger or aggravate inflammatory response. Once the inflammatory factors released into the blood circulation, they can act on the central nervous system in a variety of ways. As a result, elderly patients are more likely to develop POCD. In addition, some studies have shown that pain can also increase cognitive burden. Aspirin, its pharmacodynamic effects includes anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects which may have a certain effect on the prevention of POCD.
