Filter by:This phase II trial studies how well orteronel works in treating patients with metastatic hormone-resistant prostate cancer. Orteronel may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
Faecal elastase is an enzyme test used to identify the presence of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency. This condition manifests with symptoms of diarrhea, weight loss, causing potential impairment on an individual's quality of life. Creon, a pancreatic enzyme supplement, marketed by Abbott Laboratories, Inc. is currently the standard treatment for this condition. However, there has been limited work evaluating the merits of this medication in this condition. This study aims to evaluate the benefits that Creon may have in coeliac patients with low faecal pancreatic elastase by randomising patients with low faecal pancreatic elastase (<200 ug/g) to either treatment with Creon or placebo. Outcome measures that we aim to assess to determine the benefits of Creon include evaluation of stool frequency, abdominal pain, body mass index (BMI) and quality of life.
The purpose of this research study is to determine whether Auditory Brainstem Implant (ABI) can improve hearing in children who are deaf and cannot receive a cochlear implants.
This research is being done to determine the accuracy of two noninvasive methods of measuring the pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), also known as intracranial pressure or ICP.
To determine the rate of pathologic complete responses (pCR) at the time of definitive surgical resection of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
This phase II trial studies how well erlotinib hydrochloride works before surgery in treating patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer. Erlotinib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving erlotinib hydrochloride before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed.
The purpose of this study is to determine if infusing additional special donor cells will help to improve graft or immune function in previously transplanted children with immune deficiencies and bone marrow failures.
The primary objective is to evaluate a NULOJIX® (belatacept) based regimens as a means of improving long-term graft function without increasing the risks of immunologic graft injury by avoiding both calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) and corticosteroids.
The thought is that Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) plays a key role in the progression to prediabetes/T2DM in those with a history of Gestational Diabetes (GDM). The investigators want to know if having a fatty liver will be connected with more glucose abnormalities (higher fasting/oral glucose tolerance test glucose, more insulin resistance) and that a history of GDM will be common in those with NAFLD.
This is a Phase 3, multicenter, prospective, randomized, open-label, study to compare the safety and efficacy of intravenous (IV) ceftolozane/tazobactam with that of IV piperacillin/tazobactam in the treatment of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in adult participants .
