Filter by:The goal of this clinical trial is to test a food supplement in children of 3-12 years with IBS-D. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is the tested supplement able to improve and/or reduce IBS-related symptoms? - After administration of the food supplement, how does the state of intestinal inflammation improve? - Is the gut microbiota modified? Participants will take the food supplement every day for 2 months. After 30 days and after 60 days, they will be visited from the gastroenterologist. - They have to fill in the questionnaire and the symptom's diary weekly and deliver it to the gastroenterologist during the visits - At the first visit, they will collect the faecal sample for the analysis of inflammatory markers and gut microbiota - After 30 days, they will collect the faecal sample for the analysis of inflammatory markers - After 60 days, they will collect the faecal sample for the analysis of gut microbiota Researchers will compare with placebo to see if the product is effective.
This is an observational, prospective, single-centre study that will focus on patients undergoing major non-cardiac surgery requiring invasive mechanical ventilation and invasive blood pressure monitoring Hypotheses: A positive TVC (tidal volume challenge) prior to the recruitment manoeuvre (RM) predicts a decrease in CI within 5 minutes of individualised PEEP establishment of at least 10%. 1. T0: Moment prior to the start of tidal volume challenge. Baseline values 2. T1: After tidal volume challenge, moment priorate the start of the recruitment manoeuvre (RM). Mostcare and ventilator values. From this moment on, the parameters obtained from Mostcare will be analysed continuously (minute by minute) until 15 minutes after establishing the individualised PEEP. 3. T2: At minute 5 of establishing individualised PEEP. All parameters derived from basic monitoring, Mostcare, and ventilator monitoring shall be monitored and recorded. Record whether any fluid bolus has been administered.
Norepinephrine is a catecholamine that is the first-line vasopressor for septic shock. The addition of non-catecholamine vasopressors, including vasopressin and angiotensin-II may be used in adults with septic shock that have inadequate mean arterial pressure while on norepinephrine. Uncertainty exists regarding the timing of initiation of these agents and there is a lack of data comparing their safety and efficacy. The current literature suggests that earlier initiation of angiotensin-II will have a more significant reduction on norepinephrine-equivalent dose compared to later initiation. In addition, approximately half of patients initiated on vasopressin do not have an early hemodynamic response 6 hours after initiation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of angiotensin-II when used as the second vasopressor agent for septic shock.
The purpose of this research is to see if adding blood-based tests and symptom review to standard-of-care pancreatic cancer screening procedures can identify cancer early among individuals with increased risk.
This study aims to investigate a comprehensive therapeutic approach for patients with unresectable esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, clinically staged as Tany, N3, M0, and who are not candidate for concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with immunotherapy. The approach entails combining chemotherapy with immune therapy, followed by synchronized radiotherapy during the immune maintenance phase. The primary goal is to mitigate treatment-related side effects and enhance the overall prognosis through the integration of these treatment modalities.
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy of an artistic tool, the mandala, in a population of pregnant women (nulliparous) undergoing labor induction. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does using the mandala during labor induction improve the birth experience? - Does the use of the mandala during the induction of labor improve the outcome of the birth and the demand for analgesia? Participants in the intervention group will receive standard treatment plus coloring mandala, those in the control group only standard treatment.

This study is designed to determine the efficacy and safety of DWP14012 compared to a placebo following a once-daily oral dose of DWP14012 at 20 mg, 40 mg, or placebo for 4 weeks in patients with NERD.
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy and anti-PD-1 immunotherapy followed by surgery for the primary and metastatic lesions in patients with limited metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1) If the multimodal treatment which includes anti-PD-1 immunotherapy and local therapies will improve the survival of this group of patients. 2) If the multimodal treatment which includes anti-PD-1 immunotherapy and local therapies can be performed safely in this group of patients. Participants will receive short course hypofractionated radiotherapy (HFRT) for the primary lesion, HFRT or stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for metastatic lesions, combined with systemic chemotherapy and anti-PD-1 immunotherapy. For patients with HER2-positive cancer (defined as IHC 3+ or 2+/ISH+), trastuzumab is used along with chemotherapy and anti-PD-1 antibody. Then, surgical resections of primary and metastatic lesions are performed as much as possible. For patients who need a widely invasive surgical approach or are inoperable, local ablative therapies such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation (MVA) can be alternatives. For patients undergoing surgical resections, postoperative treatment includes chemotherapy, which is determined by the researcher, and PD-1 antibody, which will be maintained until one year after surgery.
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the nutritional parameters after 12-week supplementation of branched-chain amino acids in cirrhotic patients with ascites and serum albumin less than 3 g/dL. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Would thigh muscle thickness change after 12-week supplementation of branched-chain amino acids in cirrhotic patients with ascites and serum albumin less than 3 g/dL? 2. Would triceps skin fold thickness, mid-arm circumferences, mid-arm muscle circumferences, skeletal muscle mass, appendicular skeletal muscle mass, skeletal muscle index and fat mass change after 12-week supplementation of branched-chain amino acids in cirrhotic patients with ascites and serum albumin less than 3 g/dL? 3. Would handgrip strength change after 12-week supplementation of branched-chain amino acids in cirrhotic patients with ascites and serum albumin less than 3 g/dL? 4. Would serum albumin change after 12-week supplementation of branched-chain amino acids in cirrhotic patients with ascites and serum albumin less than 3 g/dL? 5. Would score for cirrhotic severity such as Model for End-Stage Liver Disease-Sodium Score (MELD-Na score) and Child Turcotte Pugh Score change after 12-week supplementation of branched-chain amino acids in cirrhotic patients with ascites and serum albumin less than 3 g/dL? Participants will be asked to do following tasks: 1. Participants will be asked for basic information such as age, place of residence, and contact telephone number. 2. Participants will undergo measurements of weight, height, body mass index, skinfold thickness on the arms, circumference of the arms and legs, muscle mass, and body fat content using a body composition analyzer, both at the beginning and end of the research study. 3. Participants will perform grip strength measurements, at both the beginning and end of the research study. 4. Participants will undergo laboratory tests, including a complete blood count, liver and kidney function tests, blood clotting factors, and blood mineral levels, with a total blood volume of approximately 15 milliliters (1 tablespoon), collected twice during the study (at the beginning and end). 5. Participants will be administered supplements containing branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) twice a day for a total of 12 weeks. 6. Participants will be appointed for follow-up during the study, totaling 2 appointments at weeks 4 and 12. Side effects related to medication will be asked. 7. Participants will undergo ultrasound measurements of the right thigh to assess thigh muscle thickness, both at the beginning and end of the research study. 8. Participants will will complete questionnaires to assess your overall quality of life twice, both at the beginning and end of the research study.
