In this study, bone remodeling in the gingival crevicular fluid was evaluated biochemically during canine distalization in obese individuals and compared with normal weight individuals. Gingival Thickness of Impacted Maxillary Canines

This study was conducted to compare the periodontal health of labially and palatally impacted maxillary canines with similar mesio-distal displacement, perpendicular distance, and angulation, and to compare them with the contralateral canines that served as control teeth. Two null hypothesis were tested: (1) there are no differences in attached and keratinized gingival widths and gingival thickness between impacted teeth and controls, and (2) there are no differences in attached and keratinized gingival widths and gingival thickness of labially and palatally impacted canines.

Curve of Spee: Speed of Leveling Using Different Orthodontic Archwires

The objectives if this study was to evaluate the efficacy of 3 different rectangular archwires in the correction of the curve of Spee (COS), to record the time needed to level excessive COS in the mandibular arch using the 3 archwire sizes, to investigate the changes in intercanine and intermolar widths and arch length during leveling, to measure the arterio-posterior and vertical movement for the lower incisors and lower molars, to record pulpal blood flow and to detect the root resorption in the lower anterior teeth associated with leveling excessive COS using the 3 different archwires.

MI Varnish for the Prevention of White Spot Lesions

The current study aimed to determine if MI Varnish has an effect in preventing the formation of white spot lesions for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment. 33 subjects were prospectively recruited for the project as the MI Varnish group, with a control group of 29 orthodontically treated subjects who received routine treatment and oral hygiene regimes.Difference in prevention of white spot formation between the control and the study groups were evaluated through photographic records and clinical examination by using the Enamel Decalcification Index (EDI) scores.

Assessment of the Efficacy of the Aerodentis System

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of the Aerodentis System for orthodontic tooth movement in an open label, two-arms, non-inferiority clinical study. This open-label, two-arm study will follow 45 patients for up to fifteen months. Thirty participants will wear the Aerodentis device, and fifteen participants will wear Invisalign, a commonly used clear appliance. Patients will be assigned to participate in the treatment group using the Aerodentis device at home for 10 hours daily or in the control group using clear correctors for the duration of up to 15 months. Outcome assessments will be performed every 4 weeks. Assessments will include tooth movement and quality of life assessments.

Effect of Laser Application in Pain Management Following the Use of Orthodontic Elastomeric Separators

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of low level laser therapy (LLLT) on pain management in people commencing orthodontic treatment. The study design is a randomized controlled trial. Participants' pain will be dealt with by laser irradiation in one side of the jaw randomly, and the other side will be treated by a placebo procedure. Pain assessment will be measured using Visual Analog Scales (VAS). The hypothesis of this study is that laser irradiation decreases the amount of pain following the insertion of orthodontic separators.
