NCT ID: NCT03715634 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Study of a Novel Subcutaneous Depot Formulation of Buprenorphine

Start date: September 20, 2017
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

INDV-6200 is being developed for the treatment of opioid dependency and is expected to provide sustained buprenorphine plasma concentrations. The study will be done in healthy volunteers and will administer a non-therapeutic dose of INDV-6200. Study Period 1 will evaluate the oral tolerability of sublingual (SL) buprenorphine dosed over 3 days. Period 2 will administer the investigational medicinal product (IMP) or volume matched placebo.

NCT ID: NCT03699085 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Emergency Department Longitudinal Integrated Care

ED-LINC
Start date: December 11, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The overarching goal of this investigation is to develop and determine the feasibility of a multi-component intervention adapted from a collaborative care framework initiated in the ED for patients at risk for opioid use disorder. This study will provide important feasibility information for future studies of ED-LINC. The collaborative care intervention (ED-LINC) will be supported by a novel Emergency Departement (ED) health information exchange platform.

NCT ID: NCT03677986 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Buprenorphine Treatment Engagement and Overdose Prevention

Start date: May 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Office-based buprenorphine could be expanded to treat many of the opioid users who are not in treatment and who are at great risk for opioid overdose, but effective approaches are needed to help individuals with opioid use disorder initiate and remain in office-based buprenorphine treatment. Investigators propose to develop and pilot test a novel intervention that will combine video-based directly observed therapy and incentives to promote buprenorphine treatment engagement and adherence in out-of-treatment opioid users.

NCT ID: NCT03662529 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Neurobehavioral Measurement of Substance Users in Outpatient Treatment Setting

Start date: June 5, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study was an internal program effectiveness evaluation of the effects of a four-session weekly individualized cognitive therapy program (called the "Mind Freedom Plan" (MFP)) on substance use outcomes and substance abuse treatment retention in Veterans admitted to an intensive outpatient treatment program for substance abuse at the Richmond Veterans Administration Medical Center (RICVAMC). Substance use and treatment retention metrics of MFP-assigned Veterans were compared with those of Veterans assigned to typical case-management-oriented weekly individual sessions.

NCT ID: NCT03658642 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Clinical Decision Support to Implement ED-initiated Buprenorphine for OUD

EMBED
Start date: November 15, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Emergency Departments (EDs) frequently care for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Buprenorphine (BUP) is an effective treatment option for patients with OUD that can safely be initiated in the ED. At present, BUP is rarely initiated as a part of routine ED care. Clinical decision support (CDS) represents a potential approach to accelerate adoption of this best practice into routine emergency care. The goal of this trial is to determine whether implementation of a user-centered clinical decision support (CDS) system can increase adoption of initiation of BUP into the routine emergency care of individuals with OUD.

NCT ID: NCT03653169 Withdrawn - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation to Reduce Craving for Individuals With Opioid Use Disorder Taking Buprenorphine

Start date: January 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) on craving in individuals treated with buprenorphine for opioid use disorder. In this study, individuals will receive 10 sessions of TMS (twice daily for 5 days). The investigators will assess craving, substance use, and mood throughout the study and 1-2 weeks post-treatment.

NCT ID: NCT03647774 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Long Acting Naltrexone for Opioid Addiction: Focus on Sustained Abstinence and Recovery

NaltRec
Start date: August 1, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study is designed as an open-label evaluation of how treatment with XR-NTX may influence the quality and speed of recovery of opioid dependent individuals - in a context of a naturalistic clinical treatment of opioid dependence. The study will assess recovery outcomes and compare these with the clinical effectiveness of XR-NTX (use of illicit substances and safety). Further, the study will assess the recovery outcomes in matched controls receiving treatment with buprenorphine or buprenorphine-naloxone and enrolled in the national OMT program, and compare this with participants receiving XR-NTX.

NCT ID: NCT03633929 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

mHealth for Patient Self-Management of Opioid Use Disorder

Start date: July 8, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Twenty individuals diagnosed with opioid use disorder (OUD) will be recruited to participate in a beta test to demonstrate feasibility of using an online tool to help them better self-manage their recovery.

NCT ID: NCT03616379 Completed - Opioid-use Disorder Clinical Trials

Stress Response in Opioid Use Disorder

Start date: May 31, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Opioid use disorder is a major public health problem. Although there are effective treatments for this disorder, many people still relapse and thus there is a need for new treatments to improve outcomes. People who have a strong emotional and physical response to stress are at a higher risk of relapse. The goal of this project is to test the effect of strategies to reduce response to stress in people diagnosed with opioid use disorder. Men and women diagnosed with opioid use disorder will be recruited for a one-session study. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three brief instructional conditions followed by a brief laboratory stress test. Investigators hypothesize that, compared to education about stress, brief strategies to help people cope with negative emotions will reduce responses to stress and increase tolerance of stress. If this hypothesis is supported, it will inform the development of new treatments to improve outcome in opioid use disorder.

NCT ID: NCT03604861 Completed - Clinical trials for Opioid-related Disorders

An Observational Study of Environmental and SocioEconomic Factors in Opioid Recovery

RECOVER®
Start date: August 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The RECOVER Study will examine clinical, environmental and socioeconomic factors in recovery from opioid use disorder (OUD) over a 24-month period following exit from a Phase III clinical program for a buprenorphine extended-release injection (RBP-6000). The study population will consist of participants from studies NCT02357901 (RB-US-13-0001) and NCT02510014 (RB-US-13-0003). The RECOVER study will characterize OUD subjects' recovery process as they transition from the controlled clinical trial environment to the real world setting.
