Filter by:This doctoral thesis is a single blind randomized controlled clinical trial with an active control element. The intervention examined in this trial is the Awareness Through Movement (ATM) technique of the Feldenkrais Method (FM), while the standard treatment given to the control group is the combination of acupuncture and stretching. The study was designed to examine the extend of the effect of ATM, as a means of reduction of pain, improvement of functionality and psychosomatic parameters of patients with chronic neck pain, in comparison to biomedical acupuncture protocol in combination with stretching. The effectiveness of the intervention will be compared to the effect of the standard treatment, a combination of acupuncture and stretching, in relation to parameters of pain, range of motion of rotation, flexion-extension and lateral flexion of the cervical spine and the sense of position (kinesthesia), the endurance of the cervical deep flexor muscles, respiratory function and psychometric characteristics, which are evaluated at specific times (before and after the intervention-five weeks). During the discussion, the results of this study, in combination with the degree of validity of the observation, will be compared to those of the literature review. This comparison could contribute to the more effective clinical application of ATM in the treatment of chronic neck pain, either as part of physiotherapeutic rehabilitation, or as a unique approach.
To determine the effectiveness of dry needling and therapeutic ultrasound for the treatment of chronic neck pain
Objective: Neural mobilization (NM) is commonly used to treat nerve disorders, and it is useful for disorders associated with neck and arm pain. This study aimed to determine the effects of NM on respiratory function in patients with chronic neck pain. Methods: Overall, 26 patients with neck pain were randomly assigned to two groups: NM or control. In these participants, respiratory function and active cervical range of motion were assessed before and after intervention. Furthermore, the participants were provided a visual analog scale (VAS) and Fremantle Neck Awareness Questionnaire (FreNAQ). Each participant underwent 15 treatment sessions (5 days per week for 3 weeks). Further, in the NM group, in addition to conventional treatment, 10 sessions of neural mobilization were performed.
Study will be a Randomized clinical trial to check the effects of isometric and isotonic strength training exercises on patients with chronic neck pain. The data will be collected in a hospital setting where patients of chronic mechanical neck pain will be screened out for the fulfillment of eligibility criteria of this study. After being eligible for this study their baseline outcome measures will be measured using Numeric pain rating scale, neck disability index, goniometer, dynamometer and short form 36 survey. Then they will be divided into two groups namely group A receiving isometric exercises with conventional treatment and group B receiving isotonic exercises with conventional treatment. Here conventional treatment includes thermotherapy, manual mobilisation of cervical and thoracic and trigger point therapy which will be a common treatment for both groups. The outcome measures will be measured later at 4th,8th and 12th week.
Study will be a Randomized clinical trial to check comparison of mckenzie exercise program versus routine physical therapy management on pain, range of motion and function in patients with chronic neck pain so that we can devise a treatment protocol.Total fifty subjects will be included in this study .Out of total 25 will be randomly allocated via lottery method in group 1 and 25 will be allocated in group 2. Group 1 will receive mckenzie exercise program and routine physical therapy(Joint mobilization, hot pack for 15 minutes and home exercise program) while Group 2 will receive only routine physical therapy (Joint mobilization , hot pack for 15 min and home exercise program). All patients will be treated for 12 sessions, two sessions per week for 6 weeks. Neck pain and disability index consist of two parts, part one which assesses pain severity and part two which assesses functional disability. Study setting will be services hospital. Assesment will be done at 0 week, 4week, 8week and 12weeks. Data was analysed by using SPSS version 26.
The purpose of this study is to examine whether dry needling in addition to exercises improves sleep quality and sleep duration in individuals with chronic neck pain and sleep disturbance.

According to these social trends, it is necessary to establish a program that can safely and effectively perform exercise at home.Therefore, this study assumed that if the trigger point and tension of the upper trapezius are resolved by applying ESWT before implementing the exercise program, it will have a significant effect on pain, functional aspects, and posture improvement. On this account, investigator would like to study the effect of applying ESWT before conducting the exercise program on the muscle activity ratio, craniovertebral angle, pressure pain threshold, and Neck disability index in adults with FHP.

The annual incidence of mechanical neck pain is 12/1000 patients and is one of the most common reasons for visiting physicians. Neck pain usually lasts longer than 3 months and results in a high cost to society
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the immediate effects of stimulating shoulder muscles with an acupuncture needle (dry needling) on people from thirty to fifty years old with recurrent neck pain. The main questions this trial aims to answer are does dry needling tight shoulder muscles have an effect on: 1. the ability to turn your head with speed and accuracy, 2. your neck mobility, 3. pain, 4. the tenderness in the muscles, 5. change in your everyday function. Participants will be asked to undergo a dry needling intervention, then participants will be asked to complete measurements before and after the including a pain scale, neck mobility, a functional questionnaire, pressure sensitivity and movement time for a repetitive head turning task. Researchers will compare the dry needling to the sham needling to see if there is a change in the measurements pre- and post-intervention.
