Sustained onabotulinumtoxinA Therapeutic Benefits in Patients With Chronic Migraine

To assess whether there is a sustained benefit and good safety with repeated onabotulinumtoxinA sessions in chronic migraine over more than three years of treatment. We prospectively enrolled 65 chronic migraine patients, who were classified as responders after three sessions of onabotulinumtoxin A and were eligible to further continue treatment.

The Role of Osteopathic Manipulation in the the Management of Post-traumatic Migraine

This study evaluates the use of osteopathic manipulation (manual medicine) for migraine headache following traumatic head injury. Headache is an important and very common somatic complaint among people with traumatic brain injury and an important cause of disability in the United States. Over 15-percent of soldiers deployed to Iraq sustained concussion. A majority of these patients suffer from headaches. Many of these are classified as migraine headache that do not respond to medications. Osteopathic manipulation is practiced by physicians in the United States and has been shown to be beneficial in some migraine patients. However, its use in the management of persistent post-traumatic headaches has not been explored. The investigators will use a randomized cross-over design to evaluate post-traumatic migraine patients' response to osteopathic manipulation.

Intranasal Lidocaine to Treat Pediatric Migraine in the Emergency Department

The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of intranasal lidocaine on pain score in pediatric patients with migraine. Patients with significant pain after oral analgesics and plan for intravenous (IV) abortive therapy will be asked to participate. Half of patients will be given intranasal lidocaine and the other half will be given placebo. Pain scores and associated migraine symptoms (i.e. nausea, vomiting, photophobia, phonophobia, avoidance of activities, and aura) will be monitored and compared between the groups.

Multiparametric Diagnostic Model of Thick-section Clinical-quality MRI Data in Detecting Migraine Without Aura

Recently, radiomics combined with machine learning method has been widely used in clinical practice. Compared with traditional imaging studies that explore the underlying mechanisms, the machine learning method focuses on classification and prediction to propose personalized diagnosis and treatment strategies. However, these studies were based on thin-section research-quality brain MR imaging with section thickness of < 2 mm. Clinical, the usage of thick-section clinical setting instead of thin-section research setting is especially important to shorten the acquisition time to reduce the patient's suffering. Here investigators want to build multiparametric diagnostic model of migraineurs without aura using radiomics features extracted from thick-section clinical-quality brain MR images.

We design this pilot, single arm study to explore the safety and efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for the treatment of chronic migraine. The hypothetical control group is pooled sham group in latest meta-analysis. We expect a significant improvement of the outcome measures during and after the treatment as compared to the hypothetical control group.
