The Effect of Yoga Training on Menopausal Symptoms on Menopausal Women

Parallel to the increase in life expectancy by years, the population of women living in the post-menopausal period is also increasing. In order to have a healthy menopause, which is an important part of women's life, it is thought that the adoption of yoga practice without health risks by women and its implementation as a lifestyle may be effective in reducing the symptoms of menopause experienced by women. In line with this information, it is aimed to determine the effect of yoga training on menopausal symptoms. The research will be carried out with menopausal women between the ages of 40-60 in Famagusta region. Women will be divided into two groups as intervention and control. Personal information form and menopause rating scale will be used in the research. The intervention group will be given yoga practice two days a week for 10 weeks. Menopause rating scale will be applied to the intervention and control group before and after the research.

Evaluating Oxidative Stress in Menopause

Thiol disulfide levels will be determined using venous blood samples from pre- and postmenopausal women to evaluate oxidative stress in menopause. Furthermore, oxidative stress will be assessed according to age, and years since the start of menopause. Exercise Training and Thrombotic Risk in Post-menopausal Women

At menopausal transition, the risk of cardiovascular diseases increases. This is partly due to aging, but largely also the loss of estrogen, which has many positive effects on the circulation and protects against cardiovascular diseases. It has been suggested that the loss of estrogen may have a negative impact on the otherwise well-documented health promoting effects of exercise training, and that the time after menopause may be crucial for the effect of exercise training on the vascular function, and therefore also for the risk of thrombosis. Literature regarding the effect of exercise training on the risk of thrombosis is limited, and especially in women. The purpose of the present study is to investigate whether the same effects of exercise training in relation to thrombosis is achieved if the exercise is initiated early compared to late after menopause. The aim is to provide knowledge-based recommendations regarding exercise. Teams sports will be used as the training intervention, because team sports benefits physical health and also includes a social element.

A Survey Evaluating Prevalence, Severity and Associated Factors in East Asian Women With Moderate-to-severe Menopause-related Vasomotor Symptoms (MR-VMS)

The purpose of this study is to estimate the prevalence of Vasomotor Symptoms (VMS) and prevalence of moderate to severe VMS in peri-menopausal women and post-menopausal women aged 40-65 in East Asia (China, South Korea and Taiwan) and the proportion of the following subpopulations: Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)-eligible and willing to take HRT; HRT-eligible and HRT-averse (i.e. not willing to take HRT); HRT-ineligible due to contra-indications/high-risk; and HRT-stoppers. The study will also assess Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) and VMS related productivity loss among perimenopausal and post-menopausal women with moderate-to-severe MR-VMS and the respondents' attitudes toward prescription treatments.
