Filter by:To the best of the knowledge of the Principal Investigators, there was no randomised controlled trial to assess the potential cognitive improvement seen with Vortioxetine, in comparison with some other most commonly used SNRI, when used as directed for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorders. As such the outcome of this trial will provide evidence to assess this claim in the Pakistani population and determine the clinical efficacy when compared to some other commonly used anti-depressants. This would be the first randomized trial dedicated for this assessment in the region with an active control of one of the most commonly used Selective Serotonin and Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SSNRIs) in Pakistan for the treatment of depression, Venlafaxine. It can be utilized as an alternative to MDD treatment options, especially where the focus is on improving the cognitive abilities of the patients.
This is a one-armed observational study and feasibility trial of a remote electronically-delivered integrated care pathway for the treatment of adolescents. Eligible participants are between the ages of 13 and 18, inclusive, who have a primary diagnosis of major depressive disorder. Outcomes of interest are recruitment rates and participation in pathway components, including: appointments, measure-completion and use of electronically-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy.

This is a multicenter, open-label, fixed dose, 26 week study of patients with MDD. Eligible patients from the lead-in studies will enter the Open-label Safety Study at the Screening/Baseline Visit (Visit 1/Day 1), at which point patient eligibility will be assessed and informed consent obtained.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of two different exercise training regimens for managing depression and improving other health indicators among persons with multiple sclerosis (MS). The project will enroll persons with MS and major depressive disorder (MDD) between 18 and 64 years of age. The investigators will enroll a total of 146 participants. This is a Phase-II trial that compares the efficacy of an exercise training program (POWER-MS) compared with a stretching program (FLEX-MS) for immediate and sustained reductions in the severity of depression among persons with MS who have MDD.
The study is investigating dysfunctions in neurocircuitry in regards to irritability with healthy controls (HC) and individuals with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) by performing MRIs. The MDD group will also be randomized to receive ketamine or midazolam to investigate changes post-treatment in neurocircuitry with regards to irritability.
