Filter by:This is a single center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose escalation study in healthy subjects to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of ICP-022 following oral single and multiple escalating dose administration.
This research study is a multicentre prospective pharmacokinetic study. The clinical and biological data will be collected in the framework of a prospective study. The drug to be evaluated is a glucocorticoid routinely used to treat Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patient. Initial dose of prednisone must be oral and at least 0.5mg/Kg/day, but the precise dosage and the tapering regimen will be determined according to the clinical judgment of the investigator. The duration of the research period for each patient will be 3 months. Three visits (which are all usual care visits) will be needed within the 3 months of the study for collecting data and/or blood sampling
Background: As many as 1.5 million Americans are living with systemic lupus erythematosus (Lupus). Lupus makes people very tired. It also makes it hard for people to be physically active. Studies have shown that aerobic exercise training helps people with heart or lung illnesses be less tired and more active. Researchers want to use an exercise training program on people with Lupus to see if it has the same results. Objectives: To find out if aerobic exercise helps people with Lupus be less tired and more active. Eligibility: Women ages 21-80 who have Lupus and are not physically active. Design: Participants will be screened with a medical history and physical exam. They will have heart and lung tests, as well as blood and urine tests. They will also answer questions about their quality of life and take a test that measures lupus activity. The study will last 14-16 weeks. For the first two study visits, participants will do treadmill exercise tests and answer more quality of life questions. For these treadmill tests, participants will wear sensors, a mask, or a mouthpiece while they exercise. Participants will then begin exercise training, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. At each of these visits, they will walk very fast for 30 minutes on a track or a treadmill. Each visit will last about 1 hour. At the halfway point of the study, participants will repeat some of the screening tests. This visit will last about 3 hours. At the end of the study, participants will repeat the screening tests. They will also repeat the treadmill exercise tests.
the precise role of RNA in setting of this complication in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is largely unknown
This study is designed to investigate the association of the clinical and laboratory parameters or data with the cardiac structural and functional abnormalities in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE). Patients with at least four ACR classification criteria for SLE and stable clinical condition (no need for immunosuppressive therapy intensification, i.e. current immunosuppressive drug dose increase or introduction of an additional immunosuppressive drug within last 3 months) will be included in the study. Study procedures will include clinical evaluation, lab tests including blood counts, liver and kidney functions and antibodies levels such as ANA, antiphospholipid antibodies, anti-ds DNA as well as inflammatory markers such as sedimentation rates. Also evaluation of cardiac status by cardiologist examination echocardiography and gadolinium enhanced cardiac MRI. Next, correlation between cardiac abnormalities and laboratory changes will be statistically analyzed.
Systemic lupus erythematosus , the archetypal multisystem autoimmune disease, presents many diagnostic and management challenges. One such challenge is the excess cardiovascular disease observed in patients with Systemic lupus erythematosus . Coronary heart disease and other manifestations of atherosclerosis continue to be a major cause of death in patients with Systemic lupus erythematosus.Regulatory B-cells have been identified as a negative regulator of the immune system that inhibit pathological immune response by suppressing both uncontrolled protective immune response and damaging autoimmune responses
forty DLE lesions from patients will be recruited in the study. The lesions on one side of the body were block-randomized into the treatment group and the other side served as a control. The patients can continue their systemic treatments and the PDL is designed to be used as an adjunctive treatment. Treatments with the PDL will be delivered in the treatment group every 4 weeks for 4 consecutive months while the lesions in the control group received a sham. The patients will be evaluated at baseline (week 0), week 4, 8, 12, and at follow-up period of 4, 12 weeks after the final treatment (week 16, 24). Erythema index (EI), Texture index (TI) will be obtained and digital photographs will be taken and modified Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index (mCLASI) will be assessed in every visit. The digital photographs will later be evaluated by 3-blinded dermatologists. Moreover, side effects and patients' satisfaction score will also be recorded.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) obtained from umbilical cords for the treatment of adults with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
prospective analytical study of all pregnant ladies with systemic lupus in Beni-suef localities
Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease with an unknown cause and many challenges. Whilst corticosteroids and effective immunosuppressive therapy have transformed the management of patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus, one of the major causes of morbidity in Systemic lupus erythematosus patients is chronic, debilitating fatigue. Despite frequent occurrence of fatigue in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, to the best of our knowledge, no studies have been directly performed to examine fatigue-related changes in cortical motor function in Systemic lupus erythematosus. In this study, we hypothesized that Systemic lupus erythematosus patients with fatigue and depression versus Systemic lupus erythematosus patients without fatigue and depression would present an alteration of motor cortex excitability.
