Filter by:This study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of epacadostat (INCB024360) administered in combination with atezolizumab (MPDL3280A) in patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that have been previously treated with platinum-based chemotherapy and Stage IV urothelial carcinoma who have failed a platinum-based chemotherapy regimen. The study will be conducted in two phases. The dose escalation phase will utilize a 3 + 3 design to identify the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) or a Pharmacologically Active Dose (PAD) of the combination. This will be followed by a dose expansion phase, which will be comprised of three cohorts. Expansion Cohorts 1 & 2 will further evaluate the safety, tolerability, efficacy, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics at the dose identified in phase one. Expansion Cohort 3 will evaluate the change in biomarker expression following treatment with epacadostat as monotherapy followed by epacadostat and atezolizumab administered in combination.
Aim 1 - Launch Pilot Study. In this aim, the investigators seek to launch a pilot study and enroll 12 eligible patients with advanced small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and to obtain the necessary tumor biopsies to yield sufficient DNA and RNA for Genome-Wide Sequencing (GWS). Aim 2 - Treatment Selection. Completion of this study aim will provide a new clinical paradigm in the treatment of SCLC such that each individual patient would be treated with a single-agent or combination therapy of commercially available agents that relates to particular target(s) that have been identified via GWS.
The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if giving metformin in combination with radiation therapy is more effective than radiation therapy alone. In this study, participants will receive either metformin or a placebo. A placebo is not a drug. It looks like the study drug but is not designed to treat any disease or illness. It is designed to be compared with a study drug to learn if the study drug has any real effect. This is an investigational study. Metformin is FDA approved for the treatment of diabetes. Its use in this study to be given with radiation therapy to treat lung cancer is investigational. The study doctor can explain how the study drug is designed to work. Up to 70 participants will be enrolled in this study. All will take part at MD Anderson.
The purpose of this study is to determine the diagnostic yield of early lung cancer in high risk population, who smokes or has other risk factors, by different bronchoscopy,. Furthermore, another purpose is to determine whether the different bronchoscopy are significant different in diagnosing early lung cancer.
The purpose of this research study is to determine whether giving cisplatin and nab-paclitaxel before surgery will reduce the presence of disease in certain areas of the lung at the time of surgery.
This is a prospective, single institution phase II study, whose primary objective is to estimate the median and three year survival rate of non-small lung cancer patients with Stage IIIA and IIIB intra-thoracic disease which is referred to as "locally advanced" non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The investigators will test the hypothesis that positron emission tomography (PET) imaging with the imaging agent 18F-thymidine (FLT) can rapidly assess treatment response in patients with unresectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if it is tolerable for patients with NSCLC to receive afatinib before surgery. The safety of this drug will also be studied.
This study will help researchers learn about the best dose of radiation to be used when treating large early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with a treatment called stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR). Current treatments with SABR for early stage NSCLC show positive response. But, for large early stage NSCLC it may be better to give different SABR doses than what is used in routine early stage NSCLC treatment. It is not understood which dose is best for treating large early stage NSCLC. Therefore, this study can help researchers learn if giving a higher dose using SABR over a period of 5-10 treatment days can increase the chance of cure for large early stage NSCLC.
This is a Phase I/safety dose expansion study of the combination of the drug ganetespib and doxorubicin in patients with advanced solid tumors. The purpose of the Phase I part of the study is to determine the recommended phase II dose of ganetespib when given in combination with doxorubicin. The recommended Phase II dose determined at the end of the dose escalation phase will be used to conduct a safety dose expansion phase in relapsed/refractory small cell lung cancer to determine if there is a signal of efficacy in this population.
