Filter by:The primary objective of GERONTE STUDY is to evaluate the effectiveness of the GERONTE, ICT-based, integrated care pathway to improve patient 6-month quality of life, in France. Study design is a stepped wedge randomised controlled trial. Clusters will be participating hospitals, comprising eight investigating sites in total (Figure 2). This is a stepped wedge of cross-over type. Patients included at each "step" are different individuals. The first "step" is a reference measurement where none of the clusters will implement the intervention. The investigating sites will be randomly drawn to determine the order in which they will implement the intervention, by "steps" of two months. The primary endpoint is the Quality of Life assessed by the EORTC QLQ-C30 (version 3.0) questionnaire at 6 months after GERONTE implementation. It has 3 sub-scores that will be analysed independently, with alpha risk adjustment.
With this project we want to study the effectiveness of 3D reconstruction of preoperative CT to reduce operating times, blood loss and conversions after segmentectomy performed in thoracoscopy / robotics.
With the popularization of CT screening, the detection rate of small lung nodules has greatly increased. Therefore, the clinical thoracoscopic lung nodule biopsy and sub-lobectomy for radical resection of lung cancer are greatly required. Accurate resection of lung nodule depends on precise localization of pulmonary nodules. However, preoperative CT-guided Hook- wire positioning under local anesthesia, which is the current primary localization method, requires high equipment and expense, and may cause physical and mental trauma to the patient. Augmented reality (AR) is an innovative technology that superimpose a virtual scene into the real environment by fusing images, videos, or computer-generated models with patients during surgical operations. It can visually display the anatomical structures of organs or lesions, which significantly improves surgical efficiency. This project intends to use AR technology to localize the solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) before surgery, compared with CT-guided Hook-wire localization. Compared with the localization of SPNs under CT guidance, AR-assisted localization technology apparently is less time-consuming and can be performed immediately before surgery under general anesthesia, lessening pain, reduce costs of time and equipment, increase the success rate of sub-lobectomy, and improve the overall efficiency of surgical treatment of pulmonary nodules.
The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), alone or in combination with other cancer treatments is increasing dramatically with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) common (90%) during ICI treatment. Most irAEs are symptomatic and symptom self-management with timely reporting of moderate or severe symptoms to health care providers (HCPs) may reduce irAE severity by early recognition and management, resulting in fewer treatment interruptions and unscheduled health services.
The study was aimed to evaluate the impact of perioperative nutritional support with high-protein mixtures on the risk of postoperative complications, postoperative recovery of respiratory functions in patients with lung cancer, nutritional status and quality of life of patients. Possible adverse events were also studied and described.
The goal of this clinical trial is to test the safety and efficacy of KVA12123 alone or combined with pembrolizumab in patients with advanced solid tumors. The main questions this study aims to answer are: 1. What is the safety of KVA12123 when administered alone and in combination with pembrolizumab to advanced cancer patients? 2. What is an appropriate dose of KVA12123 to administer alone and in combination with pembrolizumab to advanced cancer patients in future clinical trials? Participants in this trial will be asked to: 1. Visit the clinical site every 1 - 2 weeks. 2. Receive KVA12123 every 2 weeks alone or in combination with pembrolizumab every 6 weeks. 3. Provide blood samples to evaluate drug levels in blood, drug safety and to explore the effects of each drug on the immune system. 4. Undergo scans every 6 weeks to test the effect of treatment on cancer progression. 5. Undergo other study procedures to evaluate drug safety and participant safety including physical exams, heart function tests, etc.
The goal of this multicenter observational study is to evaluate the lung cancer diagnostic value of epigenetic imprinting detection in bronchoalveolar lavage. This study will mainly focus on varifing the previously identified epigenetic imprinting biomarkers for lung cancer and upgrading and validating a lung cancer imprinting diagnostic model specifically for bronchoalveolar lavage. The lavage sample will be collected from each eligible paticipants under bronchialscopy and undergo QCIGISH detection to analyze the allelic expression status of imprinted genes. The QCIGISH detection results will be compared with the final surgical histopathology. No interventions will be taken according to the QCIGISH detection results.
Lung cancer (LC) screening using low-dose chest CT (LDCT) has already proven its efficacy. The mortality reduction associated with LC screening is around 20%, much higher than the reduction in mortality associated with screening for breast, colon or prostate cancers. Implementing lung cancer screening on a large scale faces two main obstacles: 1. The lack of thoracic radiologists and LDCT necessary for the eligible population (between 1.6 and 2.2 million people in France); 2. The high frequency of false positive screenings: in the NLST trial, more than 20% of the subjects screened were found to have at least one nodule of an indeterminate lung nodule (ILN) whereas less than 3% of ILNs are actually LC. The gold standard for determining on the benign or malignant nature of a nodule is definitive histology. Otherwise, the evolution of the nodule on serial thoracic imaging is a good alternative. The period of indeterminacy of a nodule can be as long as 24 months in many cases, which can be a source of prolonged and sometimes unjustified anxiety for screening candidates. The purpose of this randomized controlled study that focuses on LC screening in patients aged 50 to 80 years, who smoked more than 20 packs/ year or stopped smoking less than 15 years ago. Its objective is to determine whether assisting multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings with an AI-based analysis of screening LDCT accelerates the definitive classification of nodules into malignant or benign.
