View clinical trials related to Intervertebral Disc Degeneration.
Filter by:This is a randomized, comparative-effectiveness study comparing intradiscal autologous stem cells (from bone marrow aspirate) to intradiscal corticosteroid for the treatment of chronic discogenic low back pain (LBP). The primary objective of this study is to determine whether intradiscal autologous stem cells (from bone marrow aspirate) is more effective than intradiscal steroids for the treatment of chronic discogenic low back pain (LBP). Participants in this study will be randomized to receive up to intradiscal stem cell injections at 1 or 2 discs with cells harvested from a bone marrow aspirate drawn from participants' iliac crest, or an equal volume (2 mL) of intradiscal steroids and local anesthetic injected into the discs. In order to identify the painful disc(s), discography may be used at the discretion of the provider. Both treatments are frequently used as part of clinical care (i.e. there is no placebo group).
The aim of the trial is the comparison of the effectiveness of two methods of Orthokine administration (periradicular or epidural) in lumbar degenerative disc disease.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and the efficacy of an hydrogel (double cross-link microgel - DXM) injection into the intervertebral disc (IVD) space in patients with painful lumbar degenerative disc disease (DDD) over 24 to 48 weeks.
The purpose of this prospective, observational study was to evaluate frequency and characteristics of low-grade infections of the intervertebral discs in an unselected real-life patient population undergoing surgery for degenerative pathologies of the spine.
Besides normal aging, genetic and environmental factors are important potential determinants of lumbar disc degeneration. Smoking causes serious health problems, particularly lung and other cancers, heart disease and respiratory diseases, and is among the most common causes of death worldwide. Besides these commonly known diseases related to smoking numerous studies have shown that smoking has detrimental effects on the musculoskeletal system and worsens the prognosis and treatment of leukomotor diseases. In the literature there are studies examining the effect of smoking status on disc degeneration. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of current, former and passive smoking status on degeneration of lumbar intervertebral discs.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and performance of the NuVasive XLIF Decade Plate System as measured by patient-reported outcomes (PROs), radiographic outcomes, and reported complications.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and performance of cervical spine surgery using interbody implants as measured by reported complications, radiographic outcomes, and patient-reported outcomes (PROs).
This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Medicurtain®, an antiadhesion barrier in patients who underwent In Situ Decompression for single level and unilateral herniated lumbar intervertebral disc. Subjects were randomly assigned either into Medicurtain® treatment group or control group. Adhesion formations between the two groups at 12 weeks after surgery were compared by using MRI-applied scar score, ODI (Oswestry Disability Index) and VAS.
This is a phase IV post-marketing study for MagnetOs Putty. MagnetOs Putty is a synthetic bone graft extender product that is routinely used by surgeons as a treatment for patients with leg pain and/or back pain and undergoing spinal fusion surgery. In this study, MagnetOs Putty will be used according to the latest U.S. Instructions For Use, specifically as a bone graft extender mixed with autograft in a 1:1 vol.% in the posterolateral spine.
This is a phase IV post-marketing study for MagnetOs Putty. MagnetOs Putty is a synthetic bone graft extender product that is routinely used by surgeons as a treatment for patients with degenerative disc disease or spinal trauma undergoing spinal fusion surgery. In this study, MagnetOs Putty will be used according to the latest U.S. Instructions For Use, specifically as a bone graft extender mixed with autograft in a 1:1 vol.% in the posterolateral spine.
