Median Effective Dose of Remifentanil for the Prevention of Pain Caused by the Injection of Rocuronium

As a medium-and long-term non-depolarizing muscle relaxant, rocuronium has the advantages of quick effect, no histamine release and accumulation and no obvious cardiovascular adverse reactions, so it has been widely used in clinical anesthesia induction. However, when given intravenously, rocuronium can cause adverse reactions such as injection pain and limb retraction, which can lead to needle prolapse, extravasation of injection drugs, swelling of injection site, serious induction delay, and cardiovascular adverse events in severe cases. Remifentanil is a synthetic opioid drug hydrolyzed by esterase. Compared with other opioid drugs, remifentanil has the advantages of quick effect, short half-life and short time of hemodynamic changes, so it is an ideal analgesic in clinical anesthesia. In this study, in order to provide clinical references, sequential method was used to find the median effective dose (ED50) by means of pre-intravenous injection of Remifentanil to suppress pain in rocuronium injection.

Median Effective Dose of Lidocaine for the Prevention of Pain Caused by the Injection of Propofol Formulated With Medium-/Long-chain Triglycerides

Propofol is widely used in general anesthesia induction, but the occurrence of peripheral intravenous pain is relatively high, causing anxiety, fear and other adverse emotions in patients , aggravating the stress response, and even leading to adverse events of cardiovascular system . The use of mediate-long chain fat emulsion propofol partly reduces the incidence of injection pain but patients can still suffer from different degrees of pain. Advanced intravenous injection of lidocaine can alleviate the pain of propofol injection, but its application method and dose are controversial. It is worthy of further discussion on how to select the appropriate dose of advanced intravenous injection of lidocaine to effectively prevent the injection pain of mediate-long chain fat emulsion propofol, and simultaneously avoid the adverse reactions of intravenous lidocaine, thus improving patient satisfaction and perioperative safety. Efficacy of Virtual Reality in Reducing Injection Pain and Anxiety During Local Anesthesia in Children

The aim of this study is to determine the efficacy of a virtual reality (VR) device in reducing injection pain and anxiety associated with local anesthesia in pediatric dental patients. The clinical trial is a randomized split-mouth assignment. Included patients are 8-12 years old requiring local anesthetic infiltration with conventional syringe (CS) for conservative treatment of two primary maxillary molars bilaterally. Eligible patients undergo two single-visit treatments after CFSS-DS measurement before each, whereas VR is allocated to either first or second local anesthesia procedure. Primary outcome measure will be pain felt during injection, reported by patient on visual analogue scale (VAS). Secondary outcome measures: self-reported anxiety during injection on FIS; pain-related behavior according to FLACC scale; heart-rate dynamics; patient preference to local anesthesia method - CS or CS+VR.

Efficacy of Intravenous Dexketoprofen and Tenoxicam on Propofol Associated Injection Pain

Propofol remains the most common drug for induction of general anaesthesia, although it causes considerable pain or discomfort on injection. Anesthesia providers have attempted a large number of remedies to prevent this pain on injection. Previously explored ideas include injecting propofol into larger veins, warming of the hand with hot packs, and intravenous pretreatment with numerous other medications. No studies to date have looked at the dexketoprofen and tenoxicam for the pretreatment of pain on injection caused by propofol. The investigators propose studying the use of dexketoprofen and tenoxicam for pretreatment of propofol related pain on injection.
