Filter by:This study will compare the effects of AXA1125, an orally active mixture of amino acids, compared to placebo, on improving muscle function (metabolism) following moderate exercise in subjects with fatigue-Predominant Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 as well as the safety and tolerability of AXA1125. Subjects will take one dose of AXA1125 or a placebo twice daily for 28 days.
This study is a multi-center before-after trial design. The object is to observe whether the incidence of central line associated blood stream infection(CLABSI) will tend to descend compared with retrospective electronic medical record data after implementation of an infusion management scheme which comes form " Clinical Practice Guideline on Infusion Therapy in Children " .
Invasive filamentous fungal infections (aspergillosis, scedosporiosis, mucormycosis, fusarium wilt) are frequent and serious in immunocompromised individuals and especially in organ transplant patients. There is little recent data in liver transplantation, especially on the incidence and risk factors of fungal infections
Blood stream infection (BSI) during febrile neutropenia (FN) is a lethal complication, while confirmed diagnosis via blood culture is usually with low sensitivity and time delay. The new technique of metagenome next generation sequencing (mNGS) has the potential of early and more accurate detection of pathogens. However, this technique has not been well validated for BSI diagnosis in patients with hematological disease. Therefore, we designed a prospective multicenter study to compare the diagnosis performance in BSI.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the positivity rate of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza virus and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in high-risk participants presenting with acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in outpatient settings during the influenza/RSV season and to evaluate the association between lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD) and ARI-related hospitalization in participants positive for RSV.
A multicentre, open label, two-arm, parallel group, pragmatic, randomised controlled trial with internal pilot. A total of 1166 consenting adult patients with cIAI will be recruited and randomised on a 1:1 basis between 28-days antibiotics and standard care antibiotics. Patients will be followed up for 180 days to determine cost effectiveness and the rate of treatment failure in each group.
There remains scarcity of literature regarding the patient's health status post-COVID-19 infection. This study analyzes the prevalence of residual symptoms and quality of life (QoL) after COVID-19.
Multinational Observational Cohort of HIV and other Infections (MOCHI). This observational study is to gain information regarding the number of new HIV infections among people who engage in behaviors that make them vulnerable to acquiring HIV across multiple international sites.
Registry intended to provide a data repository and reporting infrastructure for the surveillance of CytoSorb device use in real-world critical care settings, and to serve as an objective, comprehensive, and scientifically-based resource to measure and improve the quality of patient care
The overall aim of this study is to measure how transmission of COVID-19 occurs in communities - including the role of super spreaders and/or identifying conditions that may increase transmission risk, with a focus on congregant situations. In order to identify how presence of symptoms and behavior affects the transmissibility of the virus, the investigators will measure SARS-CoV-2 in exhaled breath of asymptomatic and symptomatic persons using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) test strips embedded in face masks (Face Mask Sampling- "FMS") - an innovative, non-invasive method for detection of SARS-CoV-2 in exhaled air.
