Filter by:Digital technology is essential in the field of health, via connected objects, the medical Internet or even telemedicine; and the info-communication practices (ways of getting information and communicating) of the actors go through digital devices. In addition, at present, the mass of activity documents to be managed in healthcare establishments and an abundant supply of documentary resources in health, available on the Internet, lead to infobesity, information pollution, and work overload. These phenomena lead to an increase in the time spent searching for relevant information and even to the burnout of healthcare professionals. A contextualization of the information communication systems through which the practices of health professionals pass therefore seems necessary so that the tools for managing, extracting and organizing knowledge can support these actors in their work. In the field of allergies, there are many players, and the information that is useful to them is abundant and heterogeneous. This study is based on the hypothesis that a knowledge organization model, developed from existing practices, could make it possible to obtain satisfactory results when searching for information, and be integrated into the daily practices of actors by linking up with other already existing systems and tools.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrinological disorder seen in 6%-10% of women (Human Reproduction, 2004). It is characterized by polycystic ovaries, anovulatory cycles, and hyperandrogenism. In nearly 20% of infertile women, PCOS is said to be the key reason behind infertility (Norman et al., 2007). PCOS is a syndrome that manifests variably from adolescence as oligomenorrhea or hirsutism or obesity and goes on to affect the reproductive performance of the female by causing anovulation. Some may even be severely affected by metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, or endometrial carcinoma. It also increases the risk of ovarian and breast carcinoma (Atiomo et al., 2003). PCOS falls in WHO type II anovulation (norm-gonadotropic norm-estrogenic anovulation) and is seen in 85% of anovulatory females. Although lifestyle modification is known to improve reproductive outcomes in females with PCOS, the gold standard treatment for norm-gonadotropic oligo/amenorrheic infertility (WHO Group II) was clomiphene citrate (CC) (Radosh L., 2009) until 2018, when ESHRE and ASRM have declared letrozole as the first-line treatment for ovulation induction (OI)( ESHRE 2018 guidelines). To conclude, available data shows that letrozole is at least as effective as CC for ovulation and has comparable live birth rates. Importantly, it has definite advantages over CC. Many studies have shown letrozole to be as effective as gonadotropins, with added advantage of low cost and lower multiple pregnancy rates. However, the quality of medical evidence supporting aromatase inhibitors for OI, are inadequate, small in sample size, and inappropriate design. Moreover, there is very limited data on potential teratogenic effects, oocyte, embryo quality, and any effect on implantation. ( Misso et al., 2012) Those who fail to respond to CC are labeled as clomiphene resistant. It is common in approximately 15%-40% of women with PCOS (NICE, 2014). Major factors postulated for CC resistance include obesity, insulin resistance, (seen in nearly 50%-70% of females with PCOS) and hyperandrogenemia (Parsanezhad et al., 2001).Moreover, genetic predisposition is suggested to play a role in CC resistance (Overbeek et al., 2009).However, still, the current data available on the causes of CC resistance are not sufficient enough to direct our treatment. It is seen in various studies (Sohrevardi et al.,2016) that the females who initially failed to respond to CC develop better ovulation and pregnancy outcomes on treatment with insulin-sensitizing agents. This indicates that insulin resistance may be a cause of CC resistance in females with PCOS. In fact, insulin-sensitizing agents (Azziz et al., 2009) decrease the dose of ovulation-inducing agent and time for follicular maturation in females with PCOS. As of now, there have been no concrete studies to compare the metabolic profile of females who respond to CC and those who do not. It is still an enigma as to why some women respond to clomiphene, while others do not. By identifying the various factors which affect the response of CC in patients with infertility, a lot of time can be saved by giving alternate options of treatment to these patients. This study was done with the aim to analyze various clinical, metabolic, hormonal, and ultrasound parameters that might affect the response to clomiphene.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a self etch adhesive resin and two desensitizing agents(Calcium phosphate, 5% glutaraldehyde) in treatment of dentin hypersensitivity on the quality of life of individuals.

Several protocols have been proposed in scientifis literature, for oral tolerance induction (OIT) protocols for peanuts. A meta-analysis showed that the data in the literature are rather in favor of the exclusion of peanuts, and that OIT doesn't allow to expect significant levels of peanut protein consumed by the patient, and is associated with an increased risk of anaphylaxis and epinephrine use. Also, in most published protocols, patients with a history of anaphylactic shock, severe asthma, or multiple history of anaphylaxis are excluded. To date, no protocol has been validated for this type of treatment, and each center follows locally validated schemes. In our unit, the investigators use an OIT protocol that starts at low doses (first dose at 2.68 mg peanut protein) and doses increase is scheduled every 4 to 12 weeks (instead of every 2 weeks). The investigators do not exclude patients with asthma or those with a history of peanut anaphylaxis (grade 2 or 3). The investigators have noted that our protocol is associated with a good safety profile and good efficacy, probably due to the fact that the investigators start at low doses and increase the dose with a prolonged delay, compared to previously published protocols. For this reason, the investigators decided to evaluate the results the investigators obtained in our patients and to better analyze the efficacy and safety profile of our protocol.
The aim of this in vivo study is to evaluate the post-bleaching enamel hypersensitivity and the possible color changes following the application of arginine and nano-hydroxyapatite remineralizing solutions after enamel bleaching using an in-office chemical bleaching agent. A commercial Fluoride remineralizing and desensitizing agent will be used as the control group. Following bleaching of the anterior teeth and then the application of the different tested remineralizing agents; the patients will be assessed for post-bleaching hypersensitivity using the visual analogue scale (VAS) to describe the severity of the hypersensitivity from mild to moderate to severe. On the other hand, the baseline shade and post-bleaching color changes will be evaluated using a shade guide. The data will be collected and tabulated then the statistical analysis will be performed. The null hypothesis is that the different tested remineralizing agents will have a similar effect on the post-bleaching teeth hypersensitivity & the color changes of the bleached teeth.

During the COVID-19 process, senior nursing students continue their education with distance education practices. The sample consisted of 302 senior nursing students.
The study investigates the relationship between activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in human skeletal muscle and the subsequent improvement in muscle insulin sensitivity for the stimulation of glucose uptake. This will be investigated in young healthy lean male subjects.
This is a phase 2a, multi-center, randomized and double-blind placebo-controlled trial comparing 24 weeks of abatacept versus placebo used as adjuvant to oral immunotherapy to induce remission in adolescents and adults with persistent severe peanut allergy. This is a proof-of-concept trial in which the primary outcome will be the suppression of the initial peanut specific IgE surge during OIT, which is used as a proxy outcome of peanut allergy remission. Adolescents and adults with persistent severe peanut allergy (n=14) will be randomized to either abatacept or placebo at a ratio 1:1 for a total period of 24 weeks. Peanut oral immunotherapy will be initiated the day following the first administration of the investigational product. Sustained tolerance to peanut will be assessed at 36 weeks.
