PXD101 and Bortezomib in Treating Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors or Lymphomas

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of PXD101 and bortezomib in treating patients with advanced solid tumors or lymphomas. PXD101 and bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. PXD101 may also cause cancer cells to look more like normal cells, and to grow and spread more slowly. Giving PXD101 together with bortezomib may kill more cancer cells.

SGN-30 and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Hodgkin Lymphoma

This randomized phase II trial studies the side effects and how well giving monoclonal antibody SGN-30 together with combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned after a period of improvement or did not respond to previous treatment. Monoclonal antibodies, such as SGN-30, may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride, vinorelbine tartrate, and pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving monoclonal antibody SGN-30 together with combination chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells and shrink tumors.

Risk Adapted Beacopp Regimen for Standard and High Risk Hodgkin Lymphoma

.This study is trying to address change of chemotherapy dosage according to individual patient response to initial cycles of chemotherapy in order to reduce cumulative dose of chemotherapy.The study includes patients with early unfavorable and advanced hodgkin lymphoma. Patients with low risk were started with standard beacopp and only high risk patients were started with escalated beacopp.Following 2 cycles of therapy the patients were reassessed.Based on scintigraphy results decision was made regarding further therapylative chemotherapy for early responders and maximize dose intensity for late responders.

Combination Chemotherapy Followed by Radiation Therapy in Treating Young Patients With Newly Diagnosed Hodgkin's Lymphoma

This phase III trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy works when given before radiation therapy and/or additional chemotherapy in treating young patients with newly diagnosed Hodgkin's lymphoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill cancer cells. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giving them together with radiation therapy may kill more cancer cells.

A Retrospective Study of Toxicity and Outcome of High Dose Chemotherapy With Autologous Stem Cell Transplant in Patients With Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL).

The majority of patients with Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL)are cured with radiation therapy and/or combination chemotherapy. However, patients who relapse after attaining a complete remission with chemotherapy and those with primary refractory disease have a poor outcome with conventional chemotherapy regimens. Treatment results with standard−dose second−line regimens produce low complete remission rates and minimal survival benefit. Single institution studies have shown better outcome after autologous stem cell transplant in this group of patients when compared to historical controls receiving conventional treatment. In this retrospective review, we aim to analyze outcome and determine independent prognostic factors which would correlate with the long−term outcome of patients with HL who received an autologous stem cell transplant in the past at the Royal Marsden Hospital Eligible patients (those on current−follow−up) identified from the transplant database will be eligible for the study. Accrual of eligible patients currently under follow−up will be performed in clinic at the time of next appointment. All patients accrued will give informed consent to participate in the study for retrospective case note review, after discussion with a study investigator and after receiving a study information sheet. The results of the analysis will be published in a peer−reviewed medical journal.

3-AP and Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors or Lymphoma

This phase I trial is studying the best dose of 3-AP and the side effects of giving 3-AP together with gemcitabine in treating patients with advanced solid tumors or lymphoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as 3-AP and gemcitabine (GEM), work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. 3-AP may help gemcitabine kill more cancer cells by making the cells more sensitive to the drug. 3-AP may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
