Filter by:Portal hypertension (PH) is one of the key drivers of clinical deteoration in patients with liver cirrhosis. It has been demonstrated that antiviral therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C infection leads to a decrease of PH and is associated with an improved outcome. Recently, Bulevirtide was approved for the treatment of patients coinfected with hepatitis B (HBV) and chronic hepatitis delta (HDV) infection, which helps to achieve viral supression in these patients. This study investigates the potential effects of viral supression on PH in patients with chronic HBV/HDV infection and liver cirrhosis.
This is a phase 2 study in which participants with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection will receive VIR-2218, VIR-3434 and/or PEG-IFNα and be assessed for safety, tolerability, and efficacy
To investigate the safety and efficacy of tenofovir alafenamide (orally 25 mg per day) treated in inactive chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV)-infected pregnant women with high viral load from the late pregnancy until the delivery date or postpartum 1 month.
This is a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, multi center, dose ranging study of safety and efficacy in both volunteers with chronic hepatitis B virus infection and in volunteers with hepatitis D virus coinfection. Volunteers will be administered multiple oral doses of ATI-2173 and assessed for safety and efficacy including blood tests to show how the body metabolizes and eliminates the investigational drug as well as how the drug effects the virus infection.
Current clinical practices has shown promising prospects of the therapy strategy of interferon combined with nucleos(t)ides in patients with chronic hepatitis B, but the safety and efficacy has not been fully studied. This study is aimed to exploit the safety and efficacy of the study drug, Peginterferon alfa-2b injection, with nucleos(t)ide (NAs), tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets (TDF), in the patients with hepatitis B, who has previously treated with nucleos(t)ides and who are treatment naïve.
Post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause multiple system function disorders, and complicated symptoms last for an extended period. The virus can cause this continued infection, or the virus causes immune system function disorder and post-infectious autoimmune disease. The clinical symptoms can be smell loss, taste loss to liver function disorder, kidney function failure, different. No matter how complicated the systems showed in the clinic, all of the symptoms are due to the specific cells being damaged. Our clinical study is focused on recovering the damaged structure and function of the cells that could restore the organ function back to normal or close to normal
Unmethylated cystine-guanosine dinucleotide (CpG) motifs are pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) associated with bacterial and viral-derived DNA that activate the innate and humoral immunity via toll-like receptor 9. This is a randomized controlled pilot study evaluating the clinical and immune correlates of a seroprotective immune response against a CpG-adjuvanted vaccine for hepatitis B.
The purpose of this study is to determine if vebicorvir (VBR, ABI-H0731) in combination with AB-729 is safe and effective in participants with chronic hepatitis B infection (cHBV) receiving a standard of care nucleos(t)ide/reverse transcriptase inhibitor (SOC NrtI).
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is the major cause of chronic liver disease and has a long-term resultant complications4 and it considered as a major endemic medical health problem in Egypt. It affects multiple organs and reflect various manifestations on oral cavity. The purpose of this study is to assess the prevalence of oral mucosa conditions, type of oral manifestation and gingival lesions in patients with hepatitis C
This clinical trial is to clarify and investigate the patterns of immune-related hepatitis and the optimal treatment choice for patients who are steroid-dependent. The project aims to prospectively characterize the various histopathological, biochemical, and phenotypical liver injury patterns induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors and the treatment responses to corticosteroids. Furthermore, the effect of adding a second-line immunosuppressive drug, either MMF in steroid-refractory or steroid-dependent cases will be explored and compared.
