This is a randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled, dose-ranging Phase 1b study of the safety, PK, and antiviral activity of ABI-H3733 in treatment-naïve or off-treatment chronic Hepatitis B virus (cHBV) subjects that are Hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) positive or negative. The study will enroll up to 5 sequential cohorts of 10 subjects each, for a total of up to 50 subjects, randomized 8:2 to receive ABI-H3733 or placebo.

ECP for Immune-related Adverse Events After Checkpoint Inhibitor Treatment

Preliminary data demonstrate that irAEs induced by immune checkpoint blockade can be successfully treated with ECP (Apostolova et al. NEJM 2020). Therefore this retrospective analysis is launched to validate the finding made with the individual patient in a larger patient cohort. The analysis will include the evaluation of safety of ECP treatment in patients with irAEs and collect data on the efficacy of ECP as a treatment for immune-related adverse events and its effect on tumor progression.

Hepatitis C Treatment in Probation and Parole Office

This prospective cohort study compares aims to determine the efficacy and effectiveness of telemedicine-supported on-site linkage to care and treatment in a community probation and parole office (P&P office) setting and compare the results with a historic control with referral to care. Research participants will be followed in the P&P office when they report to their officer during regularly scheduled appointments. Participants will receive treatment without having to travel to a specialist's office. The telemedicine visit will include a consultation with an experienced HCV provider such as a hepatologist or an advanced practice provider and a specialty pharmacist who will educate about and monitor HCV treatment. The UK specialty pharmacy will be available to participants and the HCV management team through a 24-hour support line. Participants will be treated per HCV guidelines and insurance preference.

The research project aims to understand how pharmacies can be involved in the identification and treatment of hepatitis C (hep C). The study will look at the effectiveness of hep C testing and treatment through pharmacies with support from the Cool Aid Community Health Centre (CACHC). The study will also evaluate the readiness of pharmacies to take on these extra tasks at the pharmacy. This information will be used to develop future strategies to better detect, treat and prevent hep C.

Efficacy of Tenofovir Disoproxil on Mother-to-child Transmission of HBV in Tokombéré, Cameroon in Pregnant Women

IIn this study, pregnant women with HBeAg-positive viral hepatitis b or high viral load will receive Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate from the 28th week of amenorrhoea until 6 weeks after delivery. Their newborns will receive the hepatitis B vaccine, starting with one dose at birth and followed by three booster doses, according to the Expanded Programme on Immunisation. The investigators hypothesise that a short course of TDF could greatly reduce the risk of HBV MTCT in pregnant women at high risk of MTCT (HBeAg positive or with high viral load).
