The study aims to evaluate whether a therapy with direct-acting antiviral agents leading to a sustained virologic response directly impacts parameters reflecting glucose metabolism and fibrosis.

Pharmacokinetics of Ledipasvir/Sofosbuvir in Hepatitis C Virus-Infected Children With Hematological Malignancy

This is a prospective, controlled, open-label, pharmacokinetic study. This study aims at studying the PK of ledipasvir, sofosbuvir, and GS-331007 metabolite in HCV infected children with hematological malignancy. In this study, patients in both treatment groups will receive 12 weeks of treatment with a fixed-dose combination tablet containing 45 mg of ledipasvir and 200 mg of sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) orally, once daily with food.

Effect of Strategies for the Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C in Colombia

Hepatitis C is a public health problem and the high cost of the Direct-Acting Antivirals (DAA) is one of the main limitations for treatment worldwide. In Colombia, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MoHSP) has made progress in addressing Hepatitis C problem in order to control the infection and resolve barriers to access to medicines. One of the strategies implemented was the purchase of DAA, in association with the PAHO, and the instauration of the Clinical Pathway for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. The implementation of the Clinical Pathway has required the integration of health care processes and the respective report in the health information systems, allowing a high level of control in the monitoring of the Hepatitis C and the subsequent generation of indicators. However, there is limited information on the effects of the strategic purchase and the instauration of the Clinical Pathway on the costs of care, clinical outcomes and the quality of health care for patients with Hepatitis C in Colombia. The aim of this study is to establish the effect of strategic purchasing and the Clinical Pathway for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C, in the clinical results, in the general costs and quality of health care of Hepatitis C patients in Colombia.

Micro-elimination of Hepatitis C Virus Infection in Uremics

There is a huge gap between the clinical efficacy and community effectiveness in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C in Taiwan. HCV infection prevails in uremic patients with the prevalence of > 10 % in Taiwan.The current study will be executed in each participating hemodialysis centers by an outreach team of HCV treaters, treating all of the HCV-viremic uremia patients and HD staffs at the same time (group therapy) in each individual HD center (Erase-C campaign) with all oral directly-acting antivirals, to ensure the rates of diagnosis, accessibility, treatment and follow-up.The purpose of the study is to demonstrate a model of care using outreach HCV treaters by implementing the concept of "group therapy" with one-size-fit-all pangenotypic DAA regimen, 12 weeks of sofosbuvir/velpatasvir, in each individual hemodialysis center (Erase-C campaign) to achieve HCV micro-elimination.

This phase III trial studies the effect of hepatitis B antiviral (anti-HBV) therapy in preventing liver complications in patients with chronic or past hepatitis B virus (HBV) who are receiving anti-cancer therapy for solid tumors. People with chronic or past HBV who are undergoing therapy for cancer are at an increased risk for changes in the liver which could be minor or severe. Anti-HBV therapy acts against infections caused by HBV and may help reduce the chance that HBV gets worse or comes back in patients receiving anti-cancer therapy for solid tumors.
