NCT ID: NCT00198263 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Study Using the Medpulser Electroporation System With Bleomycin to Treat Head and Neck Cancer

Start date: January 2004
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the trial is to study the safety and efficacy of the Medpulser Electroporation System with bleomycin in the treatment of head and neck cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00195078 Terminated - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Safety Trial of IRESSA, Cisplatin and Radiation Therapy for Patients With Head and Neck Cancer

Start date: April 2004
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to find out whether adding ZD1839 to standard treatment (Cisplatin and Radiation Therapy) of unresectable head and neck cancers is better than cisplatin and radiation alone.

NCT ID: NCT00193284 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Chemotherapy Plus Gefitinib Followed by Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy, and Gefitinib For Head and Neck Cancer

Start date: October 2003
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Although gefitinib has been combined successfully with various chemotherapeutic regimens with minimal increase in overall toxicity, experience with concurrent radiation therapy is limited. In this trial, we will evaluate the feasibility, toxicity, and effectiveness a novel combination of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and gefitinib.

NCT ID: NCT00186433 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancers

A Longitudinal Study of Plasma EBV DNA in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma From Both Endemic and Non-Endemic Patient Populations

Start date: November 2001
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

1. To determine the prognostic implication of plasma Epstein-Bar Virus (EBV) DNA concentrations, as measured by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). 2. To relate pretreatment plasma EBV DNA concentration to WHO classification of these tumors both in endemic and non-endemic areas. 3. To determine whether pretreatment plasma EBV DNA can serve as a prognostic factor for both endemic and non-endemic patient populations.

NCT ID: NCT00185835 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Cisplatin and ZD1839 + Re-Irradiation in Recurrent Squamous Cell Cancer of the Head and Neck

Start date: June 2002
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

To determine safety profile of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antagonist, ZD1839 in combination with cisplatin and radiation therapy in patients with local-regional recurrent squamous cell cancer of the head and neck. To study the effects of ZD1839 combined with either cisplatin or radiotherapy on signal transduction pathway gene expression in tumor cells in patients with local-regional recurrent squamous cell cancer of the head and neck using micro array analysis from tumor samples taken at the time of relapse and during treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00184860 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Neoplasms

The Role of CT-PET-MRI Image Fusion in Determining Radiation Treatment Volumes of Head-and-Neck Cancer Patients

Start date: June 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Technical developments in radiation oncology are making it possible to deliver a prescribed radiation dose to radiation target volume with increasing accuracy. Therefore it is becoming even more relevant to accurately define the radiation target volumes. The current standard in defining radiation target volumes in patients with head-and-neck cancer is to combine physical examination data with a CT-scan in the treatment position. The goal of this investigation is to analyse the rol of CT-PET-MRI image fusion in defining radiation target volumes.

NCT ID: NCT00184028 Terminated - Clinical trials for Carcinoma of the Head and Neck

Combination of Taxotere and Oxaliplatin in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck

Start date: September 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This research study is for subjects with squamous cell cancer of the head and neck which is not solely treatable with surgery or radiation. This research study involves treatment with an experimental chemotherapy combination of oxaliplatin and Taxotere. Tha main purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of this combination of medications for this type of cancer. Approximately 54 subjects will take part in this study.

Reirradiation With Concomitant Chemotherapy After Salvage Surgery for Recurrence of Head and Neck Cancer in Irradiated Area

Start date: July 1999
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Interest of a reirradiation with concomitant chemotherapy after salvage surgery for recurrence of head and cancer in irradiated area : a multicentric Phase III randomized trial

NCT ID: NCT00180921 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cancer of the Head and Neck

Study of Imatinib (Glivec) in Patients With Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Head and Neck

Start date: July 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase II study of imatinib (Glivec) administered as a daily oral treatment in patients with recurrent/metastatic adenoid cystic carcinoma of the head and neck overexpressing KIT.
