NCT ID: NCT00397241 Completed - Open-angle Glaucoma Clinical Trials

24-hour Study of Dorzolamide/Timolol and Latanoprost/Timolol Fixed Combinations

Start date: September 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this crossover trial is to compare the 3-month mean 24-hour intraocular pressure (IOP) control and safety of dorzolamide/timolol fixed combination (DTFC) given twice daily, versus latanoprost/timolol fixed combination (LTFC) given in the evening and placebo given in the morning, versus adjunctive therapy with DTFC given twice daily and latanoprost 0.005% given once in the evening in open-angle glaucoma patients who are insufficiently controlled with latanoprost monotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT00384631 Completed - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

Intravitreal Bevacizumab for Neovascular Glaucoma

IVB NVG
Start date: April 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Several studies have confirmed high levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in eyes with neovascular glaucoma (NVG). The role of VEGF inhibitors in regression of other neovascular disorders such as wet-type age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema has been described. We aim to evaluate the effect of three intravitreal injections of bevacizumab (Avastin) 2.5 mg versus a sham procedure for treatment of NVG. Outcome measures include intraocular pressure and extent of iris neovascularization. Both study arms will receive conventional treatment for NVG.

NCT ID: NCT00383019 Completed - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

A Study Comparing Xalacom And Xalatan In Patients With Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) Or Ocular Hypertension (OH).

Start date: November 14, 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will examine the efficacy and safety of Xalacom comparing with those of Xalatan in Japanese patients with POAG or OH, in order to show superiority of Xalacom over Xalatan in efficacy and similarity of safety between Xalacom and Xalatan.

NCT ID: NCT00382395 Suspended - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

SOLX Gold Shunt Versus Control Implant: Randomized Trial for Refractory Glaucoma

Start date: November 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Study Objective: To establish the substantial equivalence of the SOLX Gold Shunt to commercially available aqueous shunts, specifically the Ahmed™ Glaucoma Valve Model FP7, in the ability to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) associated with glaucoma in eyes where medical and conventional surgical treatments have failed.

NCT ID: NCT00382226 Completed - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

IOP-Lowering Efficacy of Brinzolamide 1.0% Added to Travoprost 0.004%/Timolol 0.5% Fixed Combination as Adjunctive Therapy

Start date: September 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Uncontrolled glaucoma patients being treated with a prostaglandin agent alone or in combination with adjunctive drugs in fixed or unfixed combinations, will be switched from their current therapy to travoprost/timolol fixed combination and either Azopt or placebo

NCT ID: NCT00382122 Completed - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

Prevalence of Ocular Surface Disease in Glaucoma Patients

Start date: September 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Observational

Demographic information and a brief medical and concomitant medicine history will be obtained from the glaucoma patient's records. Qualified patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their symptoms. Patients will then be scheduled to undergo three standard clinical tests of the ocular surface.

NCT ID: NCT00379834 Completed - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

12-Month Stability of Diurnal IOP Control on Cosopt

Start date: September 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To determine the stability of diurnal intraocular pressure in eyes with glaucoma treated with Cosopt

NCT ID: NCT00376974 Active, not recruiting - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

The Effect of Education on Patient Compliance

Start date: March 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

With patient education, the compliance with glaucoma medications will increase.

NCT ID: NCT00376363 Completed - Glaucoma Clinical Trials

Ahmed Versus Baerveldt Comparison Study

ABC
Start date: November 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to compare the long-term safety and efficacy of the Ahmed and the Baerveldt implants in patients who are undergoing aqueous shunt implant surgery for glaucoma. One eye of eligible patients will be randomized. Outcome measures include intraocular pressure, visual acuity, visual field, number of glaucoma medications, glaucoma reoperations, and complications, including suprachoroidal hemorrhage, endophthalmitis, choroidal effusion, diplopia, corneal edema, and shunt/tube erosion.

NCT ID: NCT00372931 Completed - Ocular Hypertension Clinical Trials

A Phase II Study of AL-37807 to Treat Open-Angle Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertension

Start date: May 2006
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether AL-37807 is safe and effective in treating patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension
