NCT ID: NCT06100601 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Muscle Tension Dysphonia

Autonomic Dysfunction in Functional Dysphonia

Start date: October 10, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The first objective of this research project is to compare the occurrence and frequency of symptoms and/or disorders related to autonomic dysfunction in patients with functional dysphonia with gender- and age-matched vocally healthy controls, using a case-control study. The second objective is to compare the effects of a novel therapy based on autonomic nervous system regulation (i.e., ANS therapy: heart rate variability biofeedback), for functional dysphonia versus coventional voice therapy (CVT) alone or in combination with ANS regulation therapy (i.e., ANS therapy + CVT), using a longitudinal randomized controlled trial (RCT).

NCT ID: NCT03382535 Completed - Clinical trials for Functional Voice Disorder

Female Teacher's Voice During Teaching

Start date: December 7, 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Two voice therapy methods are compared. Activity noise levels and vocal load of teachers during teaching in primary school classrooms are evaluated. Acoustic and Workshop Interventions are implemented in order to reduce noise level during lesson.

NCT ID: NCT02518425 Completed - Clinical trials for Functional Voice Disorder

Improvement in Acoustic Voice Characteristics in Functional Dysphonia After Therapy

Start date: April 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

In a retrospective analysis of already existing clinical assessment data from patients with functional voice disorders the following aspects will be sampled, encoded and analysed: Outcomes pre and post treatment of 1. subjective voice symptoms measured by Voice Handicap Index (VHI-9i), 2. perceptual voice symptoms according to Grading-Roughness-Breathiness-Asthenia-Strain Scale (GRBAS Scale), 3. instrumental acoustic analysis parameters Jitter (%), speaking voice profile: mean and range of speaking pitch and intensity, max. intensity and mean pitch of calling voice, singing voice: min./max. and range of pitch and intensity, maximum phonation time, Dysphonia Severity Index (DSI).
