NCT ID: NCT06363136 Recruiting - Muscle Strength Clinical Trials

Foot Posture, Strength, Performance, and Postural Control in Isolated Gastrocnemius Tightness

Start date: February 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Studies on gastrocnemius tightness in healthy children are limited, but there is evidence that ankle dorsiflexion decreases with increasing age in children. It is not known whether gastrocnemius tightness is a normal finding in children, but recurrent leg pain is common in children. It is also known that flexible flatfoot is a normal observation in developing children and that the medial longitudinal arch develops during the first decade of life. Both foot morphology and ankle dorsiflexion change in developing children; however, it is not known whether there is a relationship between them or not. In the literature, there is no study evaluating foot posture, muscle strength, functional performance, and postural control in children with isolated gastrocnemius muscle tightness. It was planned to evaluate postural control using computerized dynamic posturography (Biodex Balance System), lower extremity muscle strength using a hand-held dynamometer, foot posture using the Foot Posture Index (FPI-6), and functional performance using single-foot-double-foot jump tests in healthy children with isolated gastrocnemius muscle tightness.

NCT ID: NCT06131736 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Functional Performance

Effects of High Intensity Interval Training and Cluster Training on Speed, Explosive Strength and Functional Performance

Start date: August 3, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

High-intensity interval training has been beneficial in many sports and significantly enhanced the results of physical training. Consequently, it has progressively been implemented among the football players. A Cluster Set (CS) is a set that has been broken up into smaller blocks of repeats with the inclusion of brief intra-set breaks or a reorganization of the breaks between repetitions. The initial assumption is that this design would offer a superior rise in exercise quality with the potential to maintain or enhance performance and enable larger loads, leading to stronger performance adaptations. The objective of the study is to compare the effects of high intensity interval training and cluster training on speed, explosive strength and functional performance in football players.

NCT ID: NCT06112288 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Achilles Tendon Rupture

The Acute Effect Comparisons of Manual Therapy Or Ankle Motion in Individuals Who Had Achilles Tendon Repair

Start date: April 26, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Achilles tendon rupture is common among physically active individuals. Limitations, decreases in the level of standing on heel rise, and due to these limitations, failures in functional activities such as returning to sports, walking, running, jumping and performance tests are observed. Manual therapy methods included in rehabilitation programs are an effective option in solving these problems. The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of Compressive Myofascial Release and Ankle joint mobilization on ankle joint movement, functional tests, elasticity and stiffness of the muscle-tendon complex and muscle tone parameters in individuals who underwent Achilles tendon repair.

NCT ID: NCT06081504 Recruiting - Burns Clinical Trials

Wii Fit Exercises Versus Pilates Exercises in Adult Patients With Lower Extremity Burn

Start date: October 10, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to compare the effect of Wii fit exercises and Pilates exercises on muscle strength and postural balance, and functional performance in adult patients with lower extremity burn.

NCT ID: NCT05915819 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Functional Performance

Effects of Plyometric Training and Eccentric Muscle Training on Functional Performance in Weightlifters

Start date: November 23, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Stretching, pressing, and lifting large weights with speed and balance all require strong muscles. In plyometric exercise, the same muscle must be stretched and rapidly contracted in order to make quick, strong motions. Plyometric exercises include explosive jumps, hops, bounds, and skips. A major component in becoming a better weight lifter is plyometric training that focuses on the lower limb. Additionally, as the muscle produces and stores kinetic energy, it is crucial to increase muscle power, strength, and endurance. Eccentric muscular activity relate to the dynamic extension of muscle tissue in resistance to an external force or load. Eccentric muscular activities have been demonstrated to induce a higher elevation of molecular signalling pathways connected to muscle and connective tissue anabolism and increased activation of satellite cells. This study will be a Randomized control trial and occur on improving functional performance in weightlifters. The inclusion criteria are, training will perform only elite weightlifters, aged between 20-30 years, and have 4-5 years of weightlifting experience. In this study we will compare two groups including 20 participants, 10 participants will be trained in plyometric exercises and 10 participants will be on eccentric muscle training and we will analyze which group will enhance functional performance. We will use an Assessment scale to assess the upper and lower extremity dysfunction through the Upper extremity assessment scale and Lower extremity assessment scale.

NCT ID: NCT05533216 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Functional Performance

Upper Limb Functional Testing in Athletes

Start date: October 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to elaborate sports-specific normative data for different upper limb functional tests. About 250 sportspeople, aged between 14 and 35 years, and practicing an upper limb sport, will be recruited. They will performed some of the following tests, based on the sport they practice : - Upper Quarter Y Balance Test - Athletic Shoulder Test - Single Arm Medicine Ball Throw - Countermovement push-ups - Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Stability Test - Upper Limb Rotation Test - Posterior Shoulder Endurance Test - Seated Shot Put Test

NCT ID: NCT03894293 Recruiting - Respiratory Failure Clinical Trials

Start date: February 20, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To assess the correlations among the physical functional performance, muscle strength, respiratory muscle strength and the ventilator weaning rate.
