Filter by:Explore the use of microcurrent therapy for fibromyalgia patients and evaluate its effect on generalized pain and quality of life. Determine if microcurrent therapy be effectively self-administered by the patient as an adjunct to medical pain management.
Patients with fibromyalgia (FM) complain of widespread chronic pain from deep tissues including muscles. Previous research highlights the relevance of impulse input from deep tissues for clinical FM pain. Deep dry needle stimulation is an invasive treatment modality used in the management of musculoskeletal pain. Its efficacy has been confirmed in the management of myofascial trigger points, so the purpose of the study is to determine if blocking abnormal impulse input with deep dry needling stimulation of tender point may decrease hyperalgesia, clinical pain and associated symptoms such as anxiety, depression, fatigue and improve the quality of life in FM patients.
Myofascial pain syndrome is characterized by the presence of hypersensitive points called trigger points that cause pain, tenderness, spasm, stiffness, limitation of movement, weakness, taut band within the muscle, and pain reflected by pressing in a muscle group or a single muscle. Prolotherapy is a regenerative treatment method in the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain, in which an irritating solution is injected, often hypertonic dextrose, into painful ligament and tendon attachments and adjacent joint spaces. In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of prolotherapy application on pain, neck range of motion and neck disability in women with myofascial pain syndrome.
In the Chinese Headache and Vertigo Registration Study, patients aged 4-99 years with headache (primary headache and secondary headache such as migraine and tension type headache), vertigo (vertigo diseases such as vestibular migraine) and chronic pain (fibromyalgia and other diseases) were collected. The biomarkers, imaging features, right-to-left shunt of the heart (lung), genetic characteristics, treatment, and outcome (in relation to other diseases) of headache-related diseases were studied, and long-term follow-up was planned.

The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of gamified sensory perceptual training in people with fibromyalgia. The primary aim is to determine the feasibility of at-home somatosensorial training for people with fibromyalgia. The researchers are determining the feasibility of using this device to decrease chronic neuropathic pain in people with fibromyalgia. The secondary aim is to survey participants' subjective report of clinical change after this program.
The primary goal of this research project is to develop different prediction models in fibromyalgia disease through the application of machine learning techniques and to assess the explainability of the results. As specific objectives the research project intends: to predicting Fibromyalgia severity of patients based on clinical variables; to assess the relevance of social-psycho-demographic variables on the fibromyalgia severity of the patients; to predict the pain suffered by the patients as well as the impact of the fibromyalgia on patient's life; to categorize fibromyalgia group of patients depending on their levels of Fibromyalgia severity.
Summary Purpose: Determining the Effect of Therapeutic Exercise and Thetahealing on Pain and Quality of Life in Patients with Fibromyalgia Methods: Between February and April 2021, the study started with 58 people who wanted to participate in the study from online platforms and the study was completed with 34 people. Findings: According to the power analysis, at least 34 people will participate in the study. Participants will be divided into 2 groups as experimental and control, thetahealing and exercise will be applied to the experimental group and only exercise sessions will be applied to the control group. The study will be 2 sessions of online group exercises per week for 6 weeks and 1 session of tehetahealing will be applied to the experimental group for 6 weeks.
