The objective is to develop an organotypic model to assess the effects of obesity on the expression and methylation status of estrogen-responsive genes in endometrial cancer. Omental fat samples will be removed from participants during surgery and these fat samples will be used in laboratory analyses.
The protocol aims at demonstrating the technical feasibility and safety of doing endomicroscopic imaging (both probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) and needle-based confocal laser endomicroscopy, nCLE) during colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and surgical procedures (open surgery and laparoscopic robot assisted or not) to examine all pelvic tissues including cervix, uterus, adnexia, peritoneum, normal and pathologic aspect.
This is a randomized, prospective, open label, multicenter study to assess the safety and utility of PINPOINT® Near Infrared Fluorescence Imaging (PINPOINT) in identification of lymph nodes (LN) in patients with uterine and cervical malignancies who are undergoing LN mapping.
The purpose of this study was to assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy when combining MK-3475 and INCB024360 in participants with certain cancers. This study was conducted in 2 phases, Phase 1 and Phase 2.
This pilot clinical trial studies protein-sparing modified fast (PSMF) intervention for weight loss in obese endometrial cancer survivors. The PSMF is a diet that is very low in carbohydrates and calories, designed to induce fast, safe weight loss. The diet consists of only lean meats (beef, pork, poultry, and seafood) in amounts adequate to meet protein requirements based on the individual's body weight. The PSMF may help endometrial cancer survivors achieve significant weight loss, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and improve quality of life.
Patients with endometrial cancer who have planned robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy and full bilateral pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy will receive injections of a fluorescent dye, Indocyanine green (ICG). ICG spreads through the lymphatic system, and will be visualized using near-infrared (NIR) imagers. Upon visualization of the path of the ICG, sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs), the first nodes to receive drainage from the primary tumor, will be identified. SLNs will be surgically removed and provided to Pathology for evaluation. Non-sentinel nodes will also be surgically removed, as is consistent with routine medical care for these patients, and given to Pathology for evaluation. A positive SLN may be the most accurate identifier of the extra-uterine spread of disease, and will provide information about the extent of surgical node removal necessary.
This randomized pilot clinical trial studies the feasibility of a pre-operative and/or post-operative scripted sexual health informational intervention and how well it works in improving sexual function in patients with gynecologic cancer. Discussing sexual outcomes and counseling options with patients may help improve sexual outcomes and/or anxiety after primary gynecologic cancer treatment.
Type of Application: Clinical trial of new indication. Experimental drug: The study dose of temsirolimus will be 25 mg administered intravenously, infused over a 30- to 60-minute period once weekly for 28 days (Total doses: 4 doses). Temsirolimus is a selective inhibitor of mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin). Pharmacotherapeutic group: Protein Kinase Inhibitors; ATC code: L01X E09. Primary Objective: - To identify in tumor samples future biomarkers associated with a short term exposure to temsirolimus. - This is an exploratory clinical study. No efficacy objectives are included in this clinical trial. Secondary Objectives: - To estimate the tolerability for all temsirolimus-treated patients throughout the study and up to 28 days after the last dose of temsirolimus. - To correlate observed changes with the different type of endometrial carcinoma (type I and type II), with regard to proteins related to mTOR (p4EBP1, pS6K1, c-MYC, cyclin D, p27, BAD, p53, Bcl-2 PTEN, pAKT, mTOR), - To estimate the potential predictive value of some biomarkers (immunostaining for PTEN, pAKT, mTOR), relevant mutations in PTEN, PI3KCA, k-RAS, CTNNB1, and microsatellite instability status. - To estimate the prognostic value of Ki67 expression after short-term presurgical therapy exposure - To collect data about the differences in expression profile, assessed by RNA microarrays
This trial assesses blood and tumor samples for the effect of trametinib with or without uprosertib on biomarkers in patients enrolled on trial GOG02290 with endometrial cancer that is persistent or has come back. Biomarkers found in the blood and tissue may be related to the reaction or response to the study drugs.
