NCT ID: NCT04123548 Completed - Clinical trials for Deep Partial-thickness Burn

StrataGraft® Skin Tissue Expanded Access at Specific Study Sites ( StrataCAT )

Start date: February 18, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

An autograft is a piece of skin taken from a healthy area of the body to be used to treat severe burns on another part of the same body. StrataGraft skin tissue was an investigational tissue that could be used as an alternative to an autograft. - StrataGraft skin tissue was in late-stage clinical development for the treatment of adults with deep partial-thickness (DPT) burns. - There were no safety concerns reported to date. The sponsor submitted a treatment protocol to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for doctors who participated in the Phase 3 Strata 2016 study (NCT 03005106) to allow for expanded access to StrataGraft before it was commercially available. The main purpose of the study was to allow patients to receive StrataGraft during Biologics License Application review and prior to approval by the FDA for the treatment of DPT burns. The primary outcome measure was the number of participants with adverse events and safety concerns.

Efficacy and Safety Study of rhGM-CSF Gel to Treat Deep 2nd Thickness Burn

rhGM-CSF
Start date: November 2010
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This was a multicenter, randomized, phase Ⅳ study, to investigate the extensive efficacy and safety of Recombinant Human Granulocyte/Macrophage Colony-stimulating Factor Hydro-gel for Topical Application (rhGM-CSF Gel) on deep 2nd burn. There are two parts of the phase Ⅳstudy, the first part was a multicenter, randomized, reference controlled study, all the subjects were randomized into two groups, test group (rhGM-CSF Gel) and control group (iodophor gauze), totally 358 deep 2nd burned patients were enrolled in first part of the study, 177 cases were enrolled in test group and 181 cases were enrolled in reference control group. In the test group, after the patients were enrolled in the group, clean the wound surface regularly and wash with normal saline, spread the test drug on the wound surface, bandaging with sterilized vaseline gauze, change the drug product every two or one day according to the effusion. In the reference control group, after the patients were enrolled in the group, clean the wound surface regularly and wash with normal saline, bandaging with iodophor gauze, change the drug product every two or one day according to the effusion. Whole treatment were lasted till the wound surface was healing completely, if it is not recovered in 4 weeks, calculate and record the healing rate. The secondary part of the study was a multicenter, open study, to investigate the safety of rhGM-CSF on deep 2nd burn patients. Totally 2329 patients were enrolled in this part of the study.

NCT ID: NCT01655407 Not yet recruiting - Thermal Injury Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy Study of Autologous Engineered Skin Substitute to Treat Partial- and Full-Thickness Burn Wounds

Start date: September 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research study is to test how well the investigational treatment, Engineered Skin Substitutes (ESS-W), works for covering and treating burn wounds. The areas of the body that are treated with ESS-W will be compared to similar areas treated with the patient's own skin (split-thickness skin autograft (AG)). A skin autograft (AG) will be performed by taking healthy skin from one area of the body and placing it on the burned area.

Effect of EGF With Silver Sulfadiazine Cream Compared With Silver Zinc Sulfadiazine Cream for Treatment of Burn Wound

Start date: December 2011
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Partial thickness burn wounds are most likely to heal within 2-3 weeks mainly by mechanism of epithelialization. However, it depends on the depth of the wounds and patient condition. Infection is one of the most common complications causing delay in wound healing which might affect to quality of patient's life. Generally, the standard treatment of partial thickness burn wound is topical 1% silver sulfadiazine cream. Previous studies had been reported the broad spectrum antimicrobial activity of silver sulfadiazine cream but it did not demonstrate the accelerating effect of wound healing. Therefore, the combination of substance which can promote wound healing to topical silver sulfadiazine cream might benefit for partial thickness burn wound treatment. The objective of this study was to compare the results of partial thickness burn wound treatment at burn unit, Siriraj hospital with topical cream containing 1% silver sulfadiazine plus 6% epidermal growth factor (EGF) and 1% silver zinc sulfadiazine. The demographic data (age, sex, %body surface area burn), time of wound closure, pain and itching, dose and type of pain and itching medication, adverse effect of topical medication, some laboratory results and cost of expenses. This is the prospective, double blinded, randomize-controlled study. The sample sizes were partial thickness burn wound patients who were treated at burn unit, Siriraj hospital. Patients were allocated into 2 groups receiving treatment with either topical silver sulfadiazine plus EGF or silver zinc sulfadiazine. All parameter data were analyzed with repeated measure ANOVA and independent t-test.

Open, Prosp, Rand. Invest. Evaluating Pain With Mepitel One vs.Bridal Veil and Staples on Split Thickness Skin Grafts

Start date: February 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This investigation is an open, randomised investigation. Approximately 40 subjects in 4-5 centres in the US with deep-partial of full thickness burns in need of skin grafts will be enrolled. The subjects will be equally randomised to either treatment with Mepitel One or bridal veil together with staples. The primary objective is to compare pain at the time of dressing change for the use of Mepitel One versus bridal veil together with staples on deep partial or full thickness burns requiring skin grafts.
