The purpose of this study is to verify the safety and efficacy of OPC-6535 and determine the optimal dose by once-daily oral administration of OPC-6535 at 25 or 50 mg or placebo for 8 weeks in combination with base treatment (either a fixed oral dose of 5-aminosalicylic acid [5-ASA] or a fixed oral dose of 5-ASA plus enteral nutrition) in 180 patients with active Crohn's disease.
This randomised, controlled study aims to evaluate the impact of endoscopic assessment, and adjustment of therapy, after surgery in patients with Crohn's disease. The primary endpoint is the severity of endoscopic recurrence. In addition, tissue will be collected for microbiological and immunological analysis.

The purpose of this study is to provide data correlating levels of microparticles that circulate in the blood and disease activity in children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The hypothesis is that circulating microparticles will be higher in children with active IBD, show inflammatory activity, and will be low in patients in remission as well as in healthy controls.
Adalimumab is an antibody treatment that targets and neutralizes a molecule produced in the body that is associated with inflammation, tumor necrosis factor (TNF). This molecule is an important factor in causing the inflammation seen in people with a form of inflammatory spinal arthritis called spondylitis as well as inflammation in the bowel called Crohn's disease. Spondylitis and Crohn's disease tend to go together and this study will assess to what degree this treatment is effective for those patients that have both disorders at the same time.
The primary purpose of this study is to pilot test an instrument that the investigators will develop to assess decision influences on inflammatory bowel disease patients' medication adherence decision-making. This pilot study will use an exploratory, descriptive cross-sectional survey approach to pilot test the instrument and answer the research questions. The main hypothesis is that patients at risk for intentionally modifying their prescribed medication regimen will differ on influences on decision-making, health status, and utilization of the IBD clinic services compared to those who are intentionally adherent and who continue adherence over time.
