Compared to the control group, intervention group receiving "Line" based video education has a greater positive effect on attitude towards diabetes. 3. Compared to the control group, intervention group receiving "Line" based video education has a better understanding on diabetic knowledge. 4. Compared to the control group, intervention group receiving "Line" based video education has a greater positive effect on self-care activity.

NCT ID: NCT04875520 Active, not recruiting - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Assessing Testing Strategies for Safe Return to K-12 Schools in an Underserved Population

Start date: May 7, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary goal of this study is to determine the most effective SARS-CoV-2 testing strategy for successful return of in-person school in the under-served communities of St. Louis. Regular screening testing has been recommended by the CDC as an additive mitigation strategy for in-person schools in areas of high community transmission. We will compare the effectiveness and acceptance of two different school-based testing strategies among students and school staff (symptomatic testing only versus weekly surveillance testing plus symptomatic testing), measuring school-based SARS-CoV-2 transmission through a cluster randomized trial.

NCT ID: NCT04874818 Recruiting - PET Imaging Clinical Trials

CD8+ T-cell PET/CT Imaging in COVID-19 Patients

Tangelo
Start date: February 14, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A subset of patients diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-CoV2 infection present with lymphopenia. The degree of lymphopenia, and in particular reduced cluster of differentiation (CD)8+ T-cell numbers, is correlated with clinical deterioration and intensive care unit (ICU) admission. The underlying reasons for lymphopenia in coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 is currently unclear, We aim to assess differences in the in vivo distribution of CD8+ T-cells in patients with proven SARS-CoV2 presenting with lymphopenia or with normal lymphocyte counts, using Zirconium-89 ([89Zr])Df-IAB22M2C positron emission tomography (PET) imaging.

NCT ID: NCT04874805 Withdrawn - Covid-19 Clinical Trials

Oxygen Saturation: Analytical Comparison for COVID

SHOCOVID
Start date: May 2, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In many patients, respiratory Sars-Cov2 infection causes arterial hypoxemia, which remains without signs of verbalized respiratory distress, up to a point. This phenomenon, called "happy" or "silent" hypoxemia, has a plural pathophysiological basis. Hypoxemia has been shown to be predictively associated with admission to the ICU. Therefore, the question of constant monitoring of oxygenation, practiced on a large scale, at home, in asymptomatic patients or contact cases, arises. A large number of portable pulse oximeter are currently freely available on the market; however, their clinical validation remains sometimes doubtful, or even absent from FDA standards. The objective of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of SpO2 values provided by portable pulse oximeter in COVID patients, in comparison with the reference method. The study will be conducted on a population of adult patients with COVID, hospitalized in the ICU, for whom gasometry sampling is already scheduled in the usual management.

NCT ID: NCT04874792 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Clinical Characteristics of Deceased With COVID-19

COVID-19
Start date: July 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to describe the clinical characteristics of patients who died from COVID-19 in the largest hospital in Bangladesh to understand the risk associated with COVID-19 related mortality in this region. This is a retrospective study where a review of hospital records of patients will be done who died from COVID-19 in Dhaka Medical College Hospital from 3rd May to 31 August 2020. All available demographic, clinical, laboratory information, radiological feature, and patients' management will be retrieved from the record section to be analyzed and described.

NCT ID: NCT04874753 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

The Effect of COVID-19 Pandemia on Follow up of Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease

COVID19-CKD
Start date: November 3, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

COVID-19 pandemic affected the admission of patients to the hospital especially the older patients (> 65 years old) because of curfews and the reluctance of patients to apply to the hospitals. Chronic kidney disease is characterized with the progressive loss of kidney function over the time and regular follow-up of patients for their kidney function and treatment of complications is recommended in these patients.

NCT ID: NCT04874740 Completed - COVID-19 Pandemic Clinical Trials

Seroprevalence of the Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies (Causing COVID-19) in Kidney Transplant Recipients in Severely Affected Region

SECOVtx
Start date: April 30, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Goal of this study is to evaluate the seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in patients after kidney transplantation who are one of the risk groups for the severe course of the infection and map the progression of the virus throughout this specific part of population, which is also important for possible future epidemics. We will evaluate the seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies according to age and gender. We will compare seroprevalence in all measured antibodies types and we will also assess the development of antibodies level in positive patients.

NCT ID: NCT04874363 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

The Effects of Smoking on Mortality in Patients With Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 Infection

Start date: March 15, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a retrospective single centered study that was done in the ICU on patients with Covid-19 between 16th of March -16th of May in 2020 Retrospective records will be examined by examining the electronic data files of the patients. There were two groups as smoker and non-smoker.

NCT ID: NCT04873414 Recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Convalescent Plasma as Adjunct Therapy for COVID-19

PlaSenTer
Start date: December 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Convalescent plasma (CP) has been the subject of increasing expectation for treating coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Reports on CP transfusion have shown promising clinical improvements without serious adverse events. To date, most studies focused on reporting CP treatment in patients with severe COVID-19, but only a few addressed benefits on less severe disease. The vast majority of studies reporting COVID-19 infection and treatment have come from earlier affected countries with established health systems and research infrastructure, while very few are from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Nonetheless, CP therapy could be one of the few available options in LMICs where constraints may exist in the access to novel treatments, even once available. Clinical trials conducted in LMICs may differ in many respects from those in high-income countries. This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of convalescent plasma therapy in hospitalized with moderate and severe COVID-19, to investigate the impacts of the treatment over the course of clinical illness, including non-mortal clinical outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT04873401 Completed - Covid-19 Clinical Trials

Leveraging Social Networks to Increase COVID-19 Testing Uptake

Start date: April 20, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This two-year project will adapt and conduct a trial examining the ability of two recruitment strategies, chain-referral and credible messenger, to reach those who use opioids and other substances in order to increase their uptake of onsite point of care COVID-19 testing that will be delivered in two community based organizations (CBOs): Alliance for Positive Change and Argus Health Inc. In Phase 1, Adapt two implementation strategies to support COVID-19 testing uptake and sustainability, adapting elements of existing efficacious social network-based interventions via a CBPR approach. In Phase 2, we will examine and compare the efficacy of two sets of implementation strategies on (i) reach, (ii) testing uptake, (iii) service delivery (i.e. quarantine, medical care, contact tracing) and (iv) sustainability for individuals who use opioids and other drugs. In Phase 3, Elucidate and compare the system/organizational-, staff-, and individual-level factors that influence implementation (i.e. fidelity, acceptability, feasibility, sustainability) of the strategies to develop a plan for dissemination and scale-up in other CBOs who serve opioid and other substance using individuals in NYC.
