NCT ID: NCT05731570 Active, not recruiting - Long Covid19 Clinical Trials

Cognitive Rehabilitation for People With Cognitive Covid19

Start date: February 14, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cognitive impairment is increasingly recognised as a major component of long Covid, and is estimated to be present in 25-75% of affected individuals. This impairment impacts quality of life and the loss of functional ability has major consequences for affected people, their families and the wider economy given people's difficulty in returning to work. This study will focus on helping people recover from cognitive Covid. This will involve use of rehabilitation strategies aimed at improving function in those cognitive functions identified in Stage 1 as being most affected, and assessing the benefit of rehabilitation on quality of life and people's ability to return to everyday function. These strategies will be co-produced in collaboration with a group of people living with cognitive Covid. At the end of Stage 2 we will produce a freely available "Covid-19 Cognitive Recovery Guide" for affected people, their close contacts and clinicians. In conclusion, cognitive impairment is frequently observed in long Covid but at present little is understood about its nature, or how it can be treated. The sheer scale of the CV19 pandemic makes this a top priority unmet need for healthcare worldwide. The aim of this study is to meet this need and to deliver a treatment plan for affected people which will help them return to normal life and working ability.

NCT ID: NCT05729152 Active, not recruiting - Myocardial Disease Clinical Trials

Cardiovascular Events for a Long Time End of COVID 19 Infection

LONGCOVIDWP3
Start date: September 6, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In the follow-up of partecipants with Covid-19 infection, persistence of cardiovascular symptoms is common. Studies on the acute phase of Covid-19 infection have demonstrated a significant prevalence of acute myocardial damage (15-44%), and imaging studies have confirmed the presence of structural changes in the pericardium and myocardium several months after the acute phase. The aim of the project is to identify the prevalence and characteristics of long-term cardiovascular changes in Covid-19 infection.

NCT ID: NCT05713279 Active, not recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Study of Flonoltinib Maleate Tablets in the Treatment of Severe Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection

Start date: January 19, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Flonoltinib Maleate as a JAK/FLT3 dual target inhibitor, previous pharmacological experiments showed that the IC50 inhibition of JAK2 kinase was as low as 0.8 nM, while the IC50 inhibition of JAK1, JAK3 and TYK2 kinases was 26 nM, 39 nM and 2 nM, respectively, and the IC50 of FLT3 kinase was 15 nM. It has high inhibitory activity for JAK2 kinase and good selectivity for JAK family.Multiple pharmacodynamic models evaluating the anti-inflammatory effect of Flonoltinib Maleate showed that Flonoltinib Maleate showed better therapeutic effect than the clinical drug Ruxolitinib with lower toxicity.

NCT ID: NCT05713266 Active, not recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Using Data From a Multisensor Rapid Health Assessment Device to Predict Decompensation in Long COVID (AIDI)

AIDI
Start date: October 31, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

We are conducting a research study at the VA hospital in Bedford, MA to learn more about how a multisensor rapid health assessment device, MouthLab, can help predict or anticipate future health complications in patients with underline conditions after contracting COVID-19. The device was created by a health technology and digital medicine company called Aidar Health, Inc. MouthLab is a non-invasive, hand-held device that works like a breathalyzer. An individual breathes into the device for 60 seconds and the MouthLab gathers more than 10 vital health parameters like temperature, heart rate, SpO2, ECG, and basic lung functions. Participation in the study will last for 6 months, and the purpose is to gather health information from people who have been previously hospitalized with COVID-19. We will use the data to develop an algorithm that predicts future complications of COVID-19, especially among patients with complex conditions (i.e., heart failure, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), and enables early intervention.

NCT ID: NCT05693272 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 Infection

A Clinical Trial to Study the COVAC-1 Booster Dose in Generally Healthy Adults

Start date: January 31, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

VIDO has developed a vaccine called COVAC-1. The COVAC-1 study vaccine contains a portion of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, called S1. The spike protein is the part of the virus that is responsible for attaching to the surface of host cells. COVAC-1 contains a TriAdj adjuvant. An adjuvant is a compound that is added to a vaccine to help the vaccine produce a better immune response. The vaccine is expected to stimulate the body to make antibodies against the S1 protein. The antibodies will recognize the viral spike protein if the body is exposed to the virus and prevent COVID-19 illness. In animal studies, the immune response generated by the COVAC-1 vaccine was able to protect the vaccinated animals against a severe SARS-CoV-2 infection. The COVAC-005 Study is a Phase I, multi-centre trial of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine booster. This is a randomized, observer-blinded, and placebo-controlled study to assess the safety and immunogenicity of COVAC-1 booster dose administered once in generally healthy adults 18-65 years of age who have received a minimum of 2 doses of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine at least 4 months prior to Day 0. The study will follow a dose-escalation design to test the safety and immunogenicity of three dosage levels (10, 25 and 50 µg). In each dose escalation group participants will be randomized in a 3:1 ratio, to receive either the investigational product or a placebo, respectively. Stratification will be according to the Investigational product dose received. Sub-analysis will be completed in two age groups, 18-54 and 55-65 years. Study participants will be initially randomized to the lowest dose of 10 µg or placebo. After approval by the Sponsor and based on the recommendations from the DSMB following the Day 7 safety analysis, new study participants will be allowed to be randomized in the higher dose escalation group of 25 µg. Approval will also be sought from the Sponsor, based upon the DSMB recommendation, to proceed with the higher dose of 50 µg. Within each dose escalation group of 16 participants (12 active vaccine recipients, and 4 placebo recipients) it is proposed to randomize a first cohort of 4 participants, including at least 3 active vaccine recipients, and pending no holding rule is met after 48 hours, as determined by the post-injection phone call, the remaining 12 participants within that dose escalation group will be randomized.

NCT ID: NCT05683353 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for SARS-CoV-2 Infection

Clinical characteristics, treatment options and responses will be collected. Peripheral blood will be collected from patients with hematologic tumors infected with SARS-CoV-2 and those people without underlying diseases infected with SARS-CoV-2.
