Dual task performances may be impaired with the impairment in motor performance and cognitive functions due to aging. The aim of the present study is to investigate the gender differences in dual task performance. A total of 82 community dwelling older adults (41 males and 41 females) aged between 65 and 75 years were included in the study. Motor performance was evaluated with sit-to-stand test, the timed up and go test, 10 m walking test and cognitive functions were evaluated with Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test. Dual task performances were evaluated as motor-motor and cognitive-motor performance.

Positive effects of calorie restriction on quality of life and diseases are reported. Intermittent fasting, one of the calorie restriction methods, has been shown to be beneficial for health with many metabolic effects, not just calorie restriction. Preclinical studies show the disease-modifying effects of intermittent fasting in animal models on a wide variety of chronic disorders, including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancers, and neurodegenerative brain diseases. There are very few studies evaluating the effects of intermittent fasting on the immune system, and only TNFα, IL6 and IL10 cytokines were evaluated in these studies to evaluate the immune system. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the conditions of inflammatory markers in peripheral blood before and after intermittent fasting period in overweight volunteers with a Body Mass Index between 25 and 30. Volunteers will have intermittent fasting for 3 weeks, which conforms to the 16-hour fasting and 8-hour meal format.
The axons of the retinal ganglion cells combine to form the optic nerve. The optic nerve transmits electrical signals to the visual cortex by various synapses. Optic nerve axons are more sensitive to toxins than retina because they are outside the blood retinal barrier. Methanol, various solvents and heavy metals, carbon dioxide, antiarrhythmic, antiepileptic, antibiotics and some vasoactive drugs can cause toxic optic neuropathy. There is a different pathophysiology for each toxin. Methanol is easily accessible alcohol in all types of disinfectants. Methanol is converted into formaldehyde and formic acid while metabolized in the liver. Formaldehyde disrupts ATP synthesis by blocking mitochondrial function and oxidative phosphorylation. Formic acid causes demyelination as a result of metabolic acidosis. Neuroinflammation occurs when denatured proteins block axoplasmic flow. All these processes can lead to apoptosis and permanent vision loss. Sildenafil is a vasoactive drug used in erectile dysfunction. Sildenafil decreases optic nerve head blood flow. Neuroinflammation develops secondary to the cessation of axoplasmic flow after hypoxia. If hypoxia and neuroinflammatiom persists, apoptosis and permanent vision loss develop. Amiodarone is an ion channel blocker used in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Long-term use may cause disruption of ion channel balance in the optic nerve. This condition leads to asymmetric neuroinflammation and apoptosis. Wharton's jelly derived mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSC) can increase mitochondrial ATP synthesis with paracrine effects and suppress neuroinflammation with immunomodulatory effects. Repetitive electromagnetic stimulation (rEMS) can rearrange ion channel balances and axoplasmic flow. The aim of this prospective phase-3 clinical study is to investigate the effect of WJ-MSC and rEMS combination in the therapy of toxic optic neuropathies. This combination is the first study in the literature for the therapy of toxic optic neuropathies.
One of the most important factors in pediatric emergency units is the correct decision of the patient inpatient or outpatient treatment. If the disease progresses critically, the decision of hospitalization comes to the fore. However, in this case, it is very important to make the right decision and to determine the situation in a short time. Children give different physiological responses to diseases according to age group. For this reason, some scoring, which require objective parameters, have been developed in order to predict the critical processes of the patients and to intervene at the right time. While such scoring is frequently used in adult emergency units, it is understood that studies on this issue are not sufficient in pediatric emergency units. The purpose of our study; To evaluate the population of children admitted to the pediatric emergency unit with the modified Pediatric Early Warning Scoring (mPEUS) and Pediatric Hospitalization Risk Scoring II (PRISA II), to predict hospitalization and discharge from the emergency service, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scoring to identify critically ill children in the correct early period.
It is not known whether appendectomy for acute appendicitis (AA) increases the Cesarean section (CS) rate and whether CS increases the likelihood of AA and appendectomy in the early puerperium. In this study, delivery type and delivery outcomes and appendectomy during pregnancy and puerperium were analyzed.
In a randomized controlled study to evaluate the effect of acupressure application on opioid-related constipation, the Patient Identification Form, Defecation Diary, Visual Analog Scale and Constipation Quality of Life Scale will be applied after obtaining written informed consent from the patients. Patients in the experimental group will be given acupressure once a day for 7 consecutive days. Acupressure application will be applied by researchers who have been trained and certified on this subject. While the patients are in supine position, pressure will be applied to each acupressure point around the navel, respectively, Zhongwan (CV12), Guanyuan (CV4) and Tianshu (ST25) for 2 minutes for a total of 6 minutes. No attempt will be made to the control group. All patients will be followed for a total of 4 weeks and the Defecation Diary and Visual Comparison Scale will be applied weekly. 4. Constipation Quality of Life Scale will be applied again at the end of the week. The study was planned to examine the effect of acupressure on opioid-related constipation.
Pulsed radiofrequency applied to the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) is an interventional treatment alternative in the treatment of lumbar radicular pain that does not respond to conservative methods. Under intermittent fluoroscopic imaging, the location of the ganglion can be determined by administering contrast media. We consider that determining the localization of the ganglion with this method during pulse radiofrequency application can shorten the procedure time. In this way, we believe that it would help the correct application of the procedure.

In parallel with this information which they obtained, they turn to different treatment methods. This study was carried on examining how pain duration affects treatment preferences in patients with low back pain.
While the rate of inguinal hernia repair operations in England is 10 per 100,000 people. The rate in the United States is found to be 28 per 100,000 people. Today, the effectiveness between open repair and laparoscopic repair in inguinal hernia repair is still debated. Laparoscopic approach offers many advantages over open repair. Regional blocks have an important place in the multi-modal anesthesia approach applied to reduce postoperative pain. In this sense, the Transversus Abdominis Plane Block (TAPB) emerges as an effective regional anesthesia method that reduces postoperative pain. This method can be applied with the help of ultrasound or laparoscopy. The aim of this study is to compare the ultrasound-assisted TAPB application and Laparoscopy-assisted TAPB application in Total Extraperitoneal hernia repair (TEP) to reveal the effects of postoperative pain. A total of 60 patients will be included in the study; 30 of these patients will be injected with local anesthetic into the fascia between the transversus abdominis and internal oblique muscles with the help of ultrasound from the designated area (Before the operation starts, TAPB with 20 ml 0.25 % bupivacaine will be applied to the surgical side under ultrasonography); In the other 30 patients, local anesthetic injection will be made to the same area under laparoscopic direct vision. 50 mg Bupivacaine (0.25 % 20 ml bupivacaine solution) has been determined as the application dose and this amount will be applied in both groups. 10 cm visual analog scale (VAS) will be used in postoperative pain follow-up. 50 mg intravenous tramadol will be administered to patients with VAS > 4 and tramadol will be supplemented to 100 mg in patients with high pain levels after 30 minutes. Oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory will be given at the postoperative 8th hour. Patients whose pain persists despite current therapy will be given 25 mg of meperidine intravenously as a rescue analgesic. The doses of analgesic administered in the postoperative period and the hours of administration will be recorded
