There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Percussion massage devices used in percussion massage therapy provide great convenience for both self-application and application by a physiotherapist.Percussion massage therapy is widely used today in many areas in deep and superficial tissues; such as pain reduction, increased blood circulation, improved scar tissue, reduced lactate levels and muscle spasms, increased lymphatic flow, inhibition of Golgi reflex, increased range of motion. There are deficiencies in the literature when studies related to these recently introduced devices are examined. To our knowledge, no study has been conducted so far that examines the immediate and short-term muscle strength, joint position sense, and functional parameters of percussion massage therapy. Stretching exercises are used by athletes to increase joint range of motion and performance in the long term. It is also included in athletes' training programs for the purpose of warming up before an activity or cooling down after an activity. In many studies where the dynamic stretching method is affected, there are studies showing that dynamic stretching exercises performed before activity or sports positively affect performance and flexibility parameters. Therefore, many clinicians recommend dynamic stretching exercises before sports.Dr. Kase, who developed the kinesiology tape, says that taping the muscle is more effective compared to immobilizing the joint with tape. The elastic properties of the muscle are impaired by trauma and overuse. The possible mechanisms of action depend on the degree of tension used in taping can be listed as reducing inflammation and swelling by increasing circulation and creating cooling in the area by increasing the subcutaneous interstitial space with a lifting effect on the skin, increasing the signals sent to the central nervous system by stimulating the skin's mechanoreceptors and as a result, reducing pain with the gate control mechanism. When the literature is examined, it has been reported that Kinesiotape applications are not superior to other treatment modalities, but can be used to support treatment.Based on all this information, it is planned to investigate the immediate and short-term effects of percussion massage therapy, stretching exercises, and Kinesiotape applications in the literature."
Hip fracture is a common cause of surgery, especially in elderly patients. Unilateral spinal anesthesia in hip fracture surgery can prevent the undesirable effects of spinal anesthesia due to sympathetic blockade. However, severe pain in hip fracture patients limits the positioning required for unilateral spinal anesthesia. The sedation and analgesia required to position patients with fractured hip remains inferior may cause respiratory depression, hemodynamic instability or postoperative cognitive impairment, especially in elderly patients. Lower extremity peripheral blocks can be used preoperatively to minimize the use of sedatives that may be required during positioning and to provide effective and safe analgesia.
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) is the gold standard recommended treatment technique for kidney stones larger than 20 mm. For kidney stones between 10 - 20 mm, both shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) or flexible ureterorenoscopy (f-URS) are recommended as the first choice of treatment and PNL is recommended as the second. In patients who are planned to undergo f-URS, a ureteral access sheath (UAS) is placed in the ureter at the beginning of the operation in order to provide a better image, reduce intra-renal pressure, easier stone fragment retrieval and shorter operative time. In certain cases, such as ureteral stricture, kink or edema, the ureteral access sheath may not be able to successfully inserted into the ureter. At this stage, double-J (JJ) stent can be inserted into the ureter to create passive dilatation, and a second f-URS session can be scheduled a few weeks later. Another option is to perform PNL operation to the patient in the same session. In this randomized prospective study, we aimed to compare these two different surgical approaches in terms of patient comfort and surgical success in patients with kidney stones between 10 - 20 mm in which access sheath insertion was failed in the initial f-URS session.
Nowadays, intraarterial catheterization is frequently used as an invasive method for intraoperative blood pressure monitoring and control. The radial artery is frequently used in this procedure and the cannula should be flushed with 2-3 ml of heparinized fluid intermittently to prevent occlusion. During the operation, the ambient temperature is approximately 22-24 C and the patient temperature can be 34-36 C. Since the flushing fluids are also in the environment, they are 22-24 C. The aim of this study is to determine whether the fluids at room temperature cause vasoconstriction in the vessel and cause a change in blood pressure arterial values.
Mastectomy is a technique often used in breast cancer surgery. Patients experience moderate to severe pain postoperatively after this procedure. Various plane blocks, NSAIDs, and opioid analgesics can be administered to these patients as components of multimodal analgesia. In the the study, the investigators aimed to evaluate the analgesic effects of the serratus plane block, the parasternal block added to the serratus plane block, and the dermatomal differences.
Motherhood role gain is the composition of social roles and developmental behaviors and attitudes that continue with the formation of motherhood identity development in the postnatal period that started during pregnancy. In many studies, it is stated that mothers should be prepared to transition to motherhood roles in the prenatal period in order to enable them to develop successful motherhood identity. This study will be carried out to determine the effect of structured birth preparation education on the material attachment status and motherhood function according to the theory of motherhood. The study was planned as a single -blind, post -test parallel group randomized controlled experimental study. The universe of the study will form pregnant women who apply to Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Medical Faculty Hospital Birth and Gynecology Polyclinic and Clinic. When the sample of the study was calculated as 95 %confidence interval, 5 %error and 80 %power, a total of 44 cases, 22 for the experimental group and 22 for the control group were found to be suitable for statistical analyzes. In this study, assuming that the loss rates in the literature will be 20 %loss when reference, 28 to the experimental group and 28 to the control group will be included in the initially 56 pregnant studies. The data will be collected using the 'Personal Information Form, Postpartum Period Features Information Form, Maternal Binding Scale and Barkin Maternity Function Inventory. Pregnant women in the experimental group will start in the 32nd gestational week and will be given structured training and counseling according to the theory of motherhood. Pregnant women in the control group will take standard care. Number, percentage, average and standard deviation analysis will be used for descriptive statistics. Parametric and nonparametric tests will be applied according to the compliance of the data for the normal distribution of the data in the study pattern in independent groups and recurrent tests. The results will be tested at P <0.05 significance level. In order to collect the data, Ethical Permission was obtained by the Decision No. 2022/024 from the Ethics Committee of KTO Karatay University Pharmaceutical and Medical Research. Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Medical Faculty Hospital will be obtained from the institution. Before starting to work, verbal and written permissions will be obtained by reading the voluntary information form to all pregnant women. Maternal attachment inventory and Barkin Motherhood Function Scale Writers were permitted via e-mail.
The aim of this prospective observational study is to detect rebound pain and related factors in postoperative patients with total knee arthroplasty.
Health is a main human right and a need for every human being. However, due to some congenital or acquired reasons, individuals may be disabled and cannot participate in social life at the same level as their normally developing peers. The gradual increase in the world population, the advances in the treatment of chronic diseases and the prolongation of life expectancy at birth, along with the increase in economic, social and psychological problems and deterioration in environmental conditions show that the number of disabled individuals will increase in the future. Diseases caused by the use of tobacco and tobacco products rank first among preventable diseases in the world, and tobacco use is a very important public health problem. Nurses use various models developed as a guide in developing goals for lifestyle change in individuals and in interventions to achieve this. One of the studies they conduct based on the models is smoking cessation. It is believed that the studies to be carried out will strengthen the perceptions of individuals about protecting and improving their health and will guide the way in which the obstacles to smoking cessation can be perceived and resolved more easily. Based on this, it is thought that the smoking cessation study to be carried out by using HBM in visually impaired individuals will draw attention to unhealthy lifestyle behaviors and smoking addiction, which is one of these behaviors. The study was designed experimentally with "pretest-posttest control group". Before and after the planned smoking cessation training given based on HBM, the scores of Fagerström Nicotine Dependence Test and the smoking cessation scale according to HBM and hemoglobin and CO measurement values of the visually impaired individuals will be compared. Statistical package program will be used for coding, statistical analysis and evaluation of the data to be obtained from the study. T-test will be used in independent groups and t-test in dependent groups depending on the distribution features of the data in the statistical analysis. The normality distribution of the data will be evaluated by Wilk's, Kurtosis and Skewness coefficients. In the data distributed normally, non-parametric tests, Kruskal Wallis test or Mann-Whitney test will be used, and parametric tests, dependent and independent groups' t-test in two variables and ANOVA (analysis of variance) will be used in two or more variables.
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tislelizumab and tislelizumab in combination with investigational agent(s) in first-line recurrent or metastatic (R/M) head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
Objectives: In this study, we aimed to compare the efficacy of ultrasonography-guided suprascapular nerve block and intra-articular shoulder injection treatment in terms of joint range of motion, pain and functional status in patients with adhesive capsulitis (AC). Patients and Methods: 60 patients AC were included in our study. The patients were randomized into two groups according to the sealed envelope method. In the evaluation of the patients before the injection, age, gender, body mass index (BMI), occupation, education, duration of complaint, symptomatic side and dominant hand information were recorded. In the first group, 2 ml of 40 mg triamcinolone acetonide and 4 ml of 1% lidocaine injection were mixed with the posterior approach method into the shoulder joint under the guidance of ultrasonography (USG). The second group underwent suprascapular nerve block (SSNB) injection with 2 ml of 40 mg triamcinolone acetonide and 4 ml of 1% lidocaine under USG guidance. Shoulder range of motion (ROM), visual analog scale (VAS) scores and Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) scores were compared before the injection, on the tenth day after the injection and at the third month after the injection. Conclusion: As a result of our study, although it was observed that both methods provided improvement in the treatment process, the significant improvement in the SSNB group indicates that it is a more reliable treatment method in AC treatment.
