NCT ID: NCT00424255 Completed - Clinical trials for Neoplasms, Head and Neck

Study Of Adjuvant Lapatinib In High-Risk Head And Neck Cancer Subjects After Surgery

Start date: December 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicentre, global Phase III trial comparing the efficacy of adjuvant oral lapatinib versus placebo in high-risk subjects with head and neck cancer following surgery. Lapatinib or placebo will be administered post-operatively in combination with chemoradiotherapy followed by maintenance with lapatinib or placebo for 1 year. The primary goal is to determine if lapatinib is effective at reducing the recurrence of the disease in these high-risk patients.

NCT ID: NCT00422227 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Study Comparing Etanercept With Usual DMARD Therapy in Subjects With Rheumatoid Arthritis in the Asia Pacific Region

Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of etanercept with usual disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy in the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA) over 16 weeks in the Asia Pacific region.

NCT ID: NCT00422084 Completed - Malaria Clinical Trials

Pyronaridine Artesunate (3:1) Versus Coartem® in P Falciparum Malaria Patients

Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this phase III study is to compare the efficacy and safety of the fixed combination of pyronaridine artesunate (Pyramax®, PA) with that of Coartem® (artemether lumefantrine, AL) in children and adults with uncomplicated P falciparum malaria in Africa and South East Asia.

NCT ID: NCT00418886 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Efficacy Study Comparing ZD6474 in Combination With Pemetrexed and Pemetrexed Alone in 2nd Line NSCLC Patients

ZEAL
Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) can be treated with drugs that kill tumour cells, stop them from dividing, or stop the growth of the blood supply that cancers need to grow and spread. Clinical research has shown that drugs that inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) or epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signalling can increase overall survival in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Preclinical studies have shown that vandetanib (ZD6474) is an inhibitor of both VEGFR and EGFR signalling. Giving vandetanib may therefore inhibit the growth of cancer cells by blocking their blood supply and by stopping them from dividing. This lung cancer study is to investigate if adding vandetanib to Alimta (pemetrexed) is more effective than Alimta (pemetrexed) alone.

NCT ID: NCT00413699 Completed - Clinical trials for Arthritis, Rheumatoid

Long-Term Effectiveness And Safety Of CP-690,550 For The Treatment Of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Start date: February 5, 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the long-term effectiveness and safety of CP-690,550 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Subjects are eligible for this study only after participating in another "qualifying" study of CP-690,550 A sub-study will be conducted within the A3921024 study, this study will evaluate the immune response to pneumococcal and influenza vaccines in patients receiving CP-690,550

NCT ID: NCT00413218 Completed - Mycoses Clinical Trials

Isavuconazole (BAL8557) in the Treatment of Candidemia and Other Invasive Candida Infections

Start date: March 8, 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to compare the safety and efficacy of isavuconazole versus caspofungin followed by voriconazole in the treatment of candidemia and other invasive Candida infections.

NCT ID: NCT00412984 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Apixaban for the Prevention of Stroke in Subjects With Atrial Fibrillation

ARISTOTLE
Start date: December 31, 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The trial seeks to determine if apixaban, an investigational anticoagulant (blood-thinner) is as effective as standard therapy (warfarin) in preventing stroke and systemic embolism in subjects with atrial fibrillation and risk factors for stroke.

NCT ID: NCT00412516 Completed - Clinical trials for Encephalitis, Japanese B

Determining Long-Term Safety and Efficacy of Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine When Given With Measles Vaccine

Start date: December 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The previously conducted JEV01 study looked at the immunogenicity and safety of the concurrent administration of Japanese Live Attenuated SA 14-14-2 and measles vaccines at the one month post vaccination time point. The purpose of the JEV01 study was to help ensure the safety of SA 14-14-2 simultaneously administered with measles vaccine, paving the way for its use in routine EPI programs. As a follow-on to JEV01, this study will enroll those infants who received both vaccines and completed the JEV01 study. This study, however, will provide crucial data to help ensure the long-term immunogenicity of the concurrent administration of these vaccines and provide valuable information to determine the use of these vaccines in routine immunization programs. This study is planned because in the original protocol for JEV01, long-term data points were not included. The hypothesis is that children who receive JE live attenuated SA 14-14-2 vaccine and measles vaccine at the same time have long-term (24 and 36 months post vaccination) protection against these diseases at the same level as those who receive the vaccines at different intervals.

NCT ID: NCT00412373 Completed - Clinical trials for Schizoaffective Disorder

Evaluation of Effectiveness and Safety of Flexible-dose Paliperidone Extended Release in Patients With Schizoaffective Disorder.

Start date: December 2006

Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness and assess the safety of different dosages (from 3 mg/day to 12 mg/day) of the antipsychotic paliperidone extended-release (ER) in patients who are experiencing an acute episode of schizoaffective disorder.

NCT ID: NCT00410306 Completed - Hypogonadism Clinical Trials

Use of Nebido® to Assess Tolerability and Treatment Outcomes in Daily Clinical Practice

IPASS Nebido
Start date: October 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This is an observational study with a drug called Nebido, a new testosterone replacement therapy, which is available for the treatment of male hypogonadism. The benefit and safety of Nebido have already been thoroughly evaluated through well controlled clinical trials. The main purpose of this observational study is to confirm the established safety profile of Nebido in daily clinical practice.
