There are about 36633 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in France. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Most of the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD: Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) in a tertiary expert Centre are on immunosuppressive and/or biological therapy. Theoretically, these treatments may increase patients' risk of infection, in particular viral infection. Therefore, the current SARS-Cov-2 pandemia, with its unprecedent worldwide morbidity and mortality, may have a negative impact on IBD patients' clinical course. Identifying an increased risk in this particular patients' population as well as the risk/protective factors is of outstanding importance, in order to adapt their treatment and surveillance. As a consequence, our aims were (i) to measure retrospectively the risk of SARS-CoV-2 (proven by biological testing or suspected due to record of potential clinical symptoms of COVID-19 infection) in this patients' cohort (principal objective), (ii) to identify risk or protective factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection in IBD, and (iii) to analyze the outcome of patients in case of suspected or confirmed COVID-19. The results of this study may be important to adjust our surveillance and therapeutic strategy in these patients, in particular if high virus circulation will occur in the future.
Colorectal cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer mortality in France. However this cancer is preventable in the majority of cases by early detection of adenomas. In France, there is organized colorectal cancer screening, which relies on general practitioners (GPs). Tests delivered by GPs are performed in 89% of cases. However, GPs do not systematically offer the test, for time management and communication reasons. Patients expect their GPs to offer the test and to focus on their expectations. A previous study conducted on GPs showed that training in communication and motivational interviewing increases the number of tests performed by 12.2%. In order to facilitate the promotion of screening, the investigators would like to develop a training programme for GPs focusing on the application of Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques to the promotion of colorectal cancer screening. Motivational Interviewing is a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence. This study is a multicenter trial in general medicine. In this randomized trial the 902 subjects will be included prospectively by the general practitioners (GP) participating in the study. As a first step, general practitioners who have never participated in Motivational Interviewing training will be recruited and split into 2 groups by randomization, an intervention group and a control group. The interventional group will then undergo a 3 times 2-day training in Motivational Interviewing. In a second step, the patients will be included by those GP and a self-questionnaire will be send at the inclusion and after 6, 12 and 24 months. The evaluation of the number of tests performed and the analyse of the Health Belief Model (HBM) self-questionnaire will be carried out. At 24 months, there will be an evaluation of the denial motivation questionnaire for patients who have not participated in organized colorectal cancer screening.
Since March 17, 2020, the French government has implemented national containment measures due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Quarantine is an unpleasant experience : Separation from relatives, loss of liberty, concern about the infectious status, boredom, can negatively affect mental health, with the emergence of anxiety and depressive symptoms. In addition, confinement can disrupt usual physical activity, a major destabilization criterion for patients suffering from eating disorders (ED). Finally, conditions of confinement can harm social support, yet identified as a protective and resilience factor in stress contexts. Thus, the current context of confinement and social distances could be source of an increase in eating behavior disorders symptoms in people suffering from ED.
Patients affected by new coronavirus infectious disease (COVID) were mostly hospitalized in ICU. This infection seems to cause widespread organ injury (i.e acute renal injury, neurological disorders, pulmonary embolism,…). It is therefore necessary to provide a framework for the follow up of patients. Moreover SARS-CoV-2 infection consequences remain unknow at this time. Study hypothesis is that COVID alters determining factors (physical or psychological) of quality of life after ICU hospitalisation. The aim of the study is to assess quality of life 3 months after ICU hospitalization. Secondary purposes of the study are 1) assessment of quality of life 6 months and the evolution between the third and the sixth months after ICU hospitalization 2) description patients care after 3 and 6 months ICU left and their clinical status 3) convening and providing a "platform" within several physicians (neurologist, biologist, pneumologist…) will be able to follow up patients and perform complementary investigations according to patients injuries.
Intrathecal analgesia is used in refractory cancer pain because of drug sides effects or intractable pain. The aim of this approach is to improve pain management, and also to improve patient comfort. This study will assess patient discomfort symptoms before and after setting up intrathecal analgesia.
The aim of this project is to evaluate the impact of pandemic and nonconfinement related to anxiety and eventual immune diseases with several standardized questionnaires : Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) , Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), Patient Health Questionnaire -9 (PHQ-9), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder-8 (PTSD-8), and Experiences in Close Relationship Scale (ECRS).
This is a Phase 3 study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of crinecerfont versus placebo administered for 24 weeks in approximately 165 adult participants with classic CAH due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency. The study consists of a 6-month randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled period, followed by 1 year of open-label treatment with crinecerfont. Subsequently, participants may elect to participate in the open-label extension (OLE) period. The duration of participation in the study is approximately 20 months for the core study and will be a variable amount of time per subject for the OLE (estimated to be approximately 3 years).
The paediatric population present mild or asymptomatic form of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This study asses the frequency of patients with SARS-CoV2 Antibodies (Ab) (seroprevalence) and the neutralizing typology of those Ab (immunoprotection) in children from 7 days to 18 years of age hospitalized for no more than 4 days and whose clinical status requires blood sample regardless of the symptoms Patients are included on a given day, after information, before blood sampling performed as part of the care. 500 µL of sera, normally discarded will be kept to perform SARS-Cov2 serology.
Cardiac surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) induces myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. This myocardial attack is a well-identified independent prognostic factor of postoperative morbidity and mortality. The quantification of these myocardial lesions by the postoperative plasma release of troponin has proven its diagnostic and prognostic value. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can accurately measure and characterize the size of myocardial lesions. These lesions are associated with a poor prognosis. MRI can also characterize myocardial edema secondary to ischemia-reperfusion which has not yet been studied in the context of CPB. It is therefore necessary, in a mechanistic approach, to quantify the respective share of necrosis, edema and reperfusion lesions during cardiac surgery under CPB in order to better understand these phenomena and to propose effective strategies for the prevention of these myocardial lesions.the relationship between the postoperative release of troponin and the amount of myocardial necrosis and edema measured by cardiac MRI will be assessed. The hypothesis is to demonstrate a positive correlation between imaging and biology in order to better understand the perioperative myocardial lesion processes. This is an interventional study prospective, exploratory, in cardiac imaging, non-comparative and single-center, including 30 patients.
Urolithiasis has an increasing incidence and prevalence worldwide, and some patients may have multiple recurrences. Because these stone-related episodes may lead to multiple diagnostic examinations requiring ionizing radiation, urolithiasis is a natural target for dose reduction efforts. Abdominopelvic low dose CT, which has the highest sensitivity and specificity among available imaging modalities, is the most appropriate diagnostic exam for this pathology. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of ultra-low dose CT using deep learning-based reconstruction in urolithiasis patients.
