There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a multi-center, open-label, switchover trial to assess the safety of taliglucerase alfa in 30 patients with Gaucher disease who are currently being treated with imiglucerase (Cerezyme®) enzyme replacement therapy.
The purpose of this evaluation is to assess the acceptance level of specific programming recommendations based on the patient's clinical needs and primary indications when using the feature 'Indications Based Programming' (IBP) available in the ZOOMVIEW Software Application for the TELIGEN DR / VR and COGNIS family of devices compared to daily life programming chosen by physicians.
A draw trial of the effect of Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist (anakinra, Kineret®) on the insulin production in patients with new onset Type 1 diabetes. Kineret® is already being used in the treatment of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and preclinical studies are now suggesting that it may also be useful for patients with Type 1 diabetes. The active substance in Kineret is interleukin-1 receptor antagonist, a blocker of an immune-signal molecule named interleukin-1. The trial is a blinded randomised trial, in which the patient is allocated to receive the active drug (Kineret®) or placebo (saline). The hypothesis is that anti-IL-1 treatment as add-on therapy to conventional insulin therapy will preserve or enhance beta-cell function.
The new BIOTRONIK implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) family Lumax 540 is capable of measuring the intrathoracic impedance on a daily basis and transmission of impedance trend data via the Home Monitoring technology. In future, this will allow for automatic early detection of imminent decompensation at a presymptomatic stage and immediate initialization of clinical meaningful therapeutic interventions preventing heart failure related hospitalizations. The aim of this investigation is to record long-term impedance trends in heart failure patients with and without heart failure related events (hospitalizations due to acute decompensation) in order to develop algorithms for device-based early detection and warning of HF deterioration accompanied by pulmonary congestion.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of the long-term treatment of pulmonary embolism with tinzaparin compared to oral anticoagulants.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical performance of implants placed in individuals who are about to loose one or more of their upper teeth. The main objective is to study how the surrounding bone tissue reacts to two different shapes of implants. Clinical performance, in wider terms, means esthetics and long lasting function. Half of the patients will receive a cylindrically shaped implant and the other half will receive a conical-cylindrical implant. The implants will be placed and after a healing period of 16 weeks the gum will be re-opened and the bone tissue response clinically evaluated. Permanent artificial tooth/teeth will be attached six weeks after that.
The study objective is to compare outcomes in subjects with a diabetic foot ulcer after 16 weeks of consuming a medical food versus a calorically similar control drink.
The purpose of this study is to compare the safety, tolerability, and antiviral activity of the lopinavir/ritonavir tablet when administered in combination with reverse transcriptase inhibitors to lopinavir/ritonavir tablets when administered in combination with a human immunodeficiency virus type 1 ( HIV-1) integrase inhibitor in antiretroviral naive HIV-1 infected subjects.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate survival for ASTRA TECH Implant System, OsseoSpeed™ implants following immediate loading in extraction sockets versus immediate loading in healed ridges. Patients in need of single standing implants replacing teeth in the maxilla within zone 15-25 will be included and followed for 5 years. Primary objective is implant survival rate at 12 months.
The study is designed to investigate the safety and efficacy of SB-742457 when added to stable donepezil treatment in subjects with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease.
