There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
At the conclusion of study AZA PH GL 2003 CL 001 (NCT00071799), eligible participants could be enrolled in an optional extension phase in order to continue treatment with azacitidine until it became commercially available; the continued treatment was for ethical and safety reasons only and not to provide additional efficacy data.
This open label, 2-part study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of RO5083945 in combination with standard chemotherapy in patients with advanced or recurrent non-small cell lung cancer who have not received prior chemotherapy. In Part 1 patients will receive RO5083945 intravenously and standard chemotherapy (cisplatin plus either gemcitabine or pemetrexed) for up to 6 cycles of 3 weeks and then RO5083945 until disease progression. In Part 2 patients will be randomized to receive either RO5083945 in combination with standard chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone for up to 6 cycles. In the absence of disease progression, patients receiving RO503945 can continue treatment with RO5083945 as monotherapy.
This study consisted of a two year dose blinded phase during which patients received one of five doses of siponimod (10, 2, 1.25, 0.5 or 0.25mg) following which patients were switched to open label treatment with siponimod 2mg for approximately a further 3 years. It will provide data on long term safety, tolerability and efficacy of siponimod in the RRMS patient population
The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of different doses of methotrexate (MTX) when taken with adalimumab in subjects with early rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
The rationale for combining lenalidomide with rituximab derives from preclinical observations suggesting that lenalidomide may enhance the ADCC (antigen-dependent cellular cytotoxicity) triggered by monoclonal antibodies such as rituximab. Lenalidomide augments NK cytotoxicity by increasing CD56dimCD3 subset, in addition to inducing IL-2 in T cells. These results provide the cellular and molecular basis for the use of lenalidomide as an adjuvant in immunotherapeutic strategies of monoclonal antibodies (mAb)-based therapies. The combination lenalidomide-rituximab was tested in lymphoma cell lines but not specifically on CLL cell lines. However the observed synergism was attributed to NK cells expansion, thus lending support to the notion that this synergism may operate in other B-cell lymphoproliferative malignancies. The objective was to develop a non-cytotoxic and effective treatment for CLL that would fulfill an unmet medical need, as a significant proportion of CLL patients are elderly and frail. These patients experience an excess in chemotherapy induced toxicity, often preventing the completion of the planned treatment.
The purpose of this study is to provide data documenting the efficacy of daptomycin in elderly patients aged ≥ 65 years with complicated Skin and Soft Tissue Infections.
This prospective, double-blind, randomized study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of two dose levels of erlotinib [Tarceva] on progression-free survival, response and disease control rates and overall survival in patients with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after failure of first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. Patients must be current smokers and not intending to stop smoking during the study. Patients will be randomized to receive either 150 mg or 300 mg of study drug as single daily oral doses. Treatment will continue until disease progression.
The purpose of this study is to compare overall survival in participants with metastatic colorectal cancer treated with either ramucirumab and FOLFIRI or placebo and FOLFIRI.
In this prospective study we aim to evaluate the feasibility and safety of the implantation of 40 millions MSV in knees with osteoarthritis of grade II-IV (Kellgren and Lawrence). The working hypothesis proposes that MSV antiinflammatory effect will help healing of articular cartilage degeneration to a grade enough to be objectivized by questionnaires and imaging procedures. The study of quantitative changes in structure and composition of cartilage determined by MRI T2-mapping (Cartigram ) will be performed at 6, 12 and 24 months. Pain and disability will be assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS), WOMAC, Lequesne Index and evaluation of the quality of life by Short Form 36 questionnaire (SF-36) completed at 3, 6,12 and 24 months.
The study is to investigate whether HCV GT1 patients with a history of non-response/relapse to PegIFN + RBV benefit from treatment with triple therapy of DEB025 plus Peg-IFN and ribavirin compared to triple treatment with placebo matching DEB025 plus Peg-IFN and ribavirin
