The purpose of this RCT is to study the effects of whole muscle training (inspiratory muscle training + aerobic training + muscle resistance training) on muscle power, VO2peak and gas-exchange variables obtained during cardiopulmonary exercise testing, QoL, functional capacity (eg, 6-min walking distance), and maximal inspiratory pressure in patients with pulmonary artery hypertension.

Integrative Group-based Cognitive Rehabilitation Efficacy in Multiple Sclerosis

The study design was a parallel-group randomized trial with equal randomization. Recruitment and enrollment were conducted between January 2013 and March 2013. At base-line, cognitive data was collected. Afterwards, the participants were randomly allocated to either the REHACOP group or the Control group. During 3 months the intervention with REHACOP program took place and at follow-up patients were again re-evaluated to evaluate the change in cognitive measure. Post-treatment assessment (finished by July 2013) was performed within the first week after completing the intervention. Optional enrollment in pre-post neuroimaging will also allow us to look at changes in the brain. Objective: To examine the efficacy of an integrative cognitive training program (REHACOP) to improve cognition of patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

HD+ I-scan Bronchoscopy Vascular Abnormalities Detection Multicenter Study

Videobronchoscopy is an essential diagnostic procedure for evaluation of the central airways and pivotal for the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer. Further technological improvements have resulted in high definition (HD+) images and advanced image enhancement technique (i-scan). An earlier study (NCT01676012) has indicated that HD+ bronchoscopy in combination with i-scan technology is superior to HD+WL (white light) for detecting endobronchial vascular changes. In this study we aim to correlate these vascular changes to histology and hypothesize that these vascular changes are related to (pre-) malignant changes and that the addition of i-scan is superior to HD+ WL.

Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of GDC-0032 When Given Alongside Tamoxifen

This study is designed as a phase 1 dose escalation study followed by a randomised phase II study. The study will be performed in three different centres: Addenbrooke & Cambridge university (Cambridge, UK), Netherlands Cancer Institute Amsterdam), and Vall d'Hebron Hospital (Barcelona, Spain). Three to six patients will be followed for one completed cycle of therapy (28 days) and subsequent enrolment of new cohorts will be based on the safety assessment in that first cycle and the documentation of dose limiting toxicities. To determine the safety and efficacy of tamoxifen in combination with the isoform selective Pi3K inhibitor GDC-0032 compared with tamoxifen alone.

Steroid Withdrawal and Donor-specific Anti-HLA Antibodies in Renal Transplant Patients

Steroids are one of the pillars of immunosuppression for kidney transplant patients but their use is associated with a high rate of complications. Withdrawal of steroids reduces some metabolic and cardiovascular complications, but it may increase the risk of acute rejection. However, little is known about whether steroid withdrawal is associated with the generation of anti-HLA donor-specific antibodies (DSA) and the relation between DSA and clinical and histological data. The aim of this study is to compare the incidence of de novo anti-HLA DSA in stable kidney transplant patients after withdrawing the steroids 3 months after the transplantation as compared with patients who continue with steroids. The hypothesis is that steroid withdrawal will increase the presence of de novo anti-HLA DSA in stable kidney transplant patients
