The aim of the present study is to assess the efficacy of a mobile application called esTOCma in promoting mental health literacy, reducing stigmatizing attitudes related to the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and improving teachers' confidence in dealing with students that might have OCD. A parallel, randomized controlled trial with two conditions (experimental and control group) will be carried out in a sample of teachers that work in primary and secondary education. Pre-post changes will be assessed. Experimental group will use the app until they finish it (within a set period of 10 days), whereas control group will do nothing for 10 days. Primarily, it is expected that after the use of the app, participants will show an improvement in OCD-related literacy, stigmatizing attitudes, desired social distance and their comfort, confidence and perceived ability in teaching and handling students with OCD. Secondarily, the investigators hypothesize that experimental group might show a reduction in obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
The 3TR-ICS COPD study is an international, multicentre, randomized, parallel, controlled study that will recruit clinically stable former smokers COPD patients (with no exacerbations in the previous 8 weeks) on treatment with dual long-acting bronchodilators (LABA+LAMA), minimum 8 weeks of usage, not receiving ICS (either naïve or > 3 months since last usage). The overall objective of this clinical trial is to identify the molecular signatures associated with the molecular response to ICS treatment in patients with COPD stratified by the levels of circulating eosinophils, and the potential influence of the pulmonary microbiome

We will assess the value of machine learning (ML) techniques for early prediction of ICU death and prolonged duration (>7 days) of mechanical ventilation (MV) in 1,241 patients enrolled in the PANDORA (Prevalence AND Outcome of acute Respiratory fAilure) Study in Spain. The study was registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03145974). Our aim is to evaluate the minimum number of variables models using logistic regression and four supervised ML algorithms: Random Forest, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine and Multilayer Perceptron.

Erdheim-Chester Disease (ECD) is a rare form of histiocytosis characterized by the proliferation of blood cells, known as histiocytes, which infiltrate various organs and tissues, often causing irreversible damage. The causes of the condition are still unknown, and although some mutations in genes involved in cell proliferation have been identified, other factors may be involved. Susceptibility to developing rare diseases like ECD is typically associated with genetic factors, including DNA polymorphisms and epigenetic modifications. This study aims to analyze the entire genome of a large cohort of patients with ECD and healthy controls to determine whether there are polymorphisms and epigenetic variants associated with susceptibility to developing the disease. The study could thus clarify the genetic predisposition to ECD development, provide insights into disease pathogenic mechanisms, and identify proteins or cellular mechanisms potentially targeted by specific treatments.
The aim of this clinical trial was to demonstrate the effectiveness of the application of ultrasound-guided percutaneous nerve stimulation (US-PENS) directed at the axillary nerve and the suprascapular nerve, in patients with post-surgical shoulder pain. This is a randomized, longitudinal, prospective and quasi-experimental clinical trial in which a total of 70 patients divided into two groups; physiotherapy protocol group (n=35) and experimental group to which the same protocol was practiced and a US-PENS session was added (n=35). The intervention and follow-up period of the participants took place over 12 weeks.
