This study is a research project to evaluate the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine for post-exposure prophylaxis and early treatment of Covid-19. The intervention entails administering prophylactic hydroxychloroquine to all contacts (Study 1) and treating non severe confirmed cases with hydroxychloroquine (Study 2).
Adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) is the most common genetic disorder of the brain white matter with an incidence of 1:14,700 births. It is caused by mutations in the ABCD1 gene, which encodes a transporter of very long-chain fatty acids (VCLFA) into the peroxisome for degradation. As a consequence VLCFA accumulate in tissues and plasma being the pathognomonic biomarker for diagnosis. The excess of VLCFA produces mitochondrial ROS and oxidative damage, a major factor driving X-ALD pathogenesis. Other key dysregulated pathways are energy production, mitochondrial biogenesis and respiration, proteostasis, and ER stress. Current therapeutic options are unsatisfactory, restricted to bone marrow transplant and gene therapy, for which most patients do not qualify. The encouraging results of plasma exchange (PE) with albumin replacement for Alzheimer's Disease prompted us to start this study. Our rationale is the following: In plasma, VLCFA are transported by lipoproteins and albumin. Albumin is the major transporter of fatty acids (FA) to the brain. ABCD1 deficiency induces inflammation and increases blood-brain barrier leakage, which could facilitate increased permeability to albumin. We posit that replacement of albumin would lower VLCFA levels in plasma through peripheral sink mechanisms, diminishing the quantity of VLCFA reaching the brain, and would prevent lipid peroxidation. A pilot proof-of-concept study in 5 X-ALD patients will be carried out to replace endogenous albumin through PE applied, once a week the first month and monthly for 5 months. A 6 months follow-up after the end of the treatment will be carried out.
The objective of this study is to assess if the masotherapy with neural tension is more effective than non-neural tension to improve and reduce tremor in patients with Parkinson's disease. The project will be carried out in clinics, where both data collection, assessments and scales will be carried out, as well as the plan and intervention in which the neural tension massage therapy of the radial nerve will be applied to the first intervention group; and massage therapy without neural tension in the second group.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS / MS) is a medical entity characterized mainly by debilitating and prolonged fatigue lasting more than 6 months, post-exertion fatigue (physical and / or mental), non-sleep restorative, cognitive impairment and orthostatic intolerance with prolonged recovery that is not relieved by rest. At present, there is no diagnostic test, nor effective treatment in the disease. Childhood obesity is a problem of high prevalence and repercussions in adulthood. It is mostly due to inadequate life habits, modifiable through preventive strategies. The objective was to evaluate in the medium term the effectiveness of an intervention on adherence to the Mediterranean diet pattern in preschoolers. Method: Community trial with two groups, in children between 3-5 years. The experimental group conducted a school garden and the usual contents on human body and health were taught in the control. Two schools were selected by cluster sampling, whose first unit of randomization were the educational areas followed by schools. The adaptation to the Mediterranean diet pattern was evaluated using the KIDMED questionnaire and weight, height, BMI and sociodemographic variables were controlled.
The aim of the study is to determine whether a goal-directed algorithm based on the prevention of arterial hypotension using the Hypotension Prediction Index reduces the duration and severity of intraoperative hypotension when compared with the recommended standard therapy and if this intraoperative strategy affects tissue oxygenation and organ perfusion.

BACKGROUND: Musculoskeletal alterations of the cervical region constitute clinical situations with a high prevalence that may be related to posture mismatches. Static alterations not linked to a defined pathological picture may come from a sensory-motor disorder whose main manifestations are increased muscle tone and stiffness. Postural reconstruction (RP). The RP method has as main objective the rebalancing of the muscular tone from 1) the sensorimotor recovery and 2) the re-functionalization of the subcortical toninergic centers. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of this physiotherapeutic approach on the functionality and posture of the cervical region. OBJECTIVES: 1) to know the effect of PR on cervical function in subjects with impaired cervical motor function; and 2) to know the effect of PR on static in subjects with impaired cervical motor function. PARTICIPANTS & METHODS: quasi-experimental design, with only one intervention group (N=40). Data records before and after the 1st intervention, before the 2nd, 4th and 6th weekly treatment sessions, at 15 days and a month and at 3 months after the end of treatment. INTERVENTION: The intervention will consist of the application of a RP maneuver applied to both lower limbs to obtain improvements in the cranio-cervical region. OUTCOMES: The outcome variables will collect information on active joint movement in the cervical region, anatomical references representative of body statics, cervical repositioning, cervical disability, pain and time to extinction of the effect.
This study will investigate the efficacy, safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of RO7017773 in participants aged 15-45 years who have been diagnosed with ASD with a score of >/=50 on the Wechsler Abreviated Scale of Intelligence (WASI-II).
