Spinal Muscular Atrophy on Wheels, Using Power Mobility

The group of children diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) has serious restrictions on participation. SMA is a neuromuscular disease that leads to neuromusculoskeletal disorders that limit functional activities, sometimes making it impossible to sit down autonomously and to walk. Scientific evidence has highlighted the importance of implementing physiotherapy interventions in pediatrics that facilitate the integration and participation of children with reduced mobility in their natural environment through the use of different assisted mobility devices that allow the child to acquire a degree of independence and motivation according to their potential and needs. For some time, with the aim of offering independent movement opportunities for children with severe motor impairment, adapted electric cars have been used, as they are simple to use and easy for the child and family to incorporate into daily tasks within natural environments. These low-cost motorized devices can generate a very positive impact on the participation of children diagnosed with SMA type I from an early age, after training the family and/or the child himself, guaranteeing the maximum possible safety, comfort, motivation and autonomy. Due to the above, there is a need to carry out the research project defined below, to generate opportunities for the inclusion of children diagnosed with SMA type I through the use of low-cost electric cars that encourage their participation, motivation and quality of life.

Dose-finding Study of SAR443122 in Adult Participants With Ulcerative Colitis

This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, dose-ranging Phase 2 study. The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SAR443122 compared to placebo in participants with moderate to severe UC. Dose selection for further clinical development will be based on the multiple efficacy, safety and PK parameters. The study consists of 4 parallel arms (3 dose groups of SAR443122 vs placebo) to assess the efficacy and safety of SAR443122 in participants with moderate to severe UC. All participants will receive a total of 52 weeks (a 12-week induction treatment phase and a 40-week maintenance phase) of study treatment, except if treatment should be discontinued per investigator's assessment. At the end of the first 12 weeks of induction treatment, all participants in clinical response or remission will be offered study treatment up to 40 weeks and will continue with the same blinded treatment that was assigned. Participants who do not achieve clinical response or remission at the end of the initial 12 weeks induction treatment will roll over in an open-label treatment arm and will be treated with SAR443122 at the highest tested dose. In addition, participants from the maintenance treatment that lose clinical efficacy at any time up to V10/Week 40 (Week 28 of maintenance) will be offered to roll over in the open-label treatment arm with SAR443122 at the highest dose.

This is a Phase 1/2, open label, multiple cohort study to assess the safety and preliminary efficacy of SAR445877 as a monotherapy or in combination with other anticancer therapies for participants aged at least 18 years with advanced unresectable or metastatic solid tumors. The study will include 2 parts: A dose escalation Part 1: for finding the therapeutic dose(s) of SAR445877 in a monotherapy given every 2 weeks (Q2W) or weekly (QW) and in combination with other anticancer therapies when applicable. A multicohort dose expansion/dose optimization Part 2: for the assessment of safety and preliminary efficacy of SAR445877 in monotherapy and in combination with cetuximab: 2 recommended doses for expansion/optimization of SAR445877 identified from dose escalation part 1 will be tested in different indications in monotherapy and in combination with other anticancer therapies as applicable. Approximately 285 participants will be enrolled to the study intervention: approximately 75 participants in part 1 and up to 210 participants in expansion/dose optimization part (part 2).

Phase Angle as a Marker of Muscle Damage, Muscle Fatigue and Inflammation, After Eccentric Exercise

The purpose of this study will be to assess the effectiveness of bioimpedance device (BIA) as a safe, rapid, and non-invasive method of analyzing muscle damage induced by high intensity induced eccentric exercise as an alternative measurement tool against traditional assessment methods. A sample of 28 sedentary subjects will be recruited, all participants will perform an eccentric exercise protocol. Measurements will be done before performing the exercise protocol, immediately after finishing the protocol, 3h after the end of the exercise protocol, 24h after the end of the exercise protocol and 48h after the end of the exercise protocol. The variables analyzed in all subjects will be phase angle, creatinkinase, jumping strength, VAS scale, white blood count cell, quadriceps muscle thickness, Borg scale and anxiety and depression questionnaires.
