Mpox Paediatric and Adolescent Clinical Study

The goal of this multicentre, observational study on mpox in infants, children and adolescents is to increase knowledge about mpox infection and its associated disease in infants, children and adolescents. This will be done through the development of a harmonized system that will allow standard collection of information on demographics, clinical symptoms, clinical course, treatments and outcomes. The study will be carried out in three potential phases: Phase 1 entails the rapid development of an online paediatric registry collecting anonymised data from routine care on infants, children and adolescents with laboratory-confirmed mpox virus infection. If warranted, the study will proceed to Phase 2, an enhanced observational study of children and adolescents with confirmed mpox virus infection, if more detailed prospective data collection would aid the public health response. There is also the potential to initiate Phase 3, comprising of nested sub-studies to investigate specific research questions in this population.

The objective of this study is to collect an image dataset of healthy and pathological population with a characterization of the potential factors that may influence the methodologies used to obtain vital signs. To this end, an observational study of qualitative and quantitative data collection through cameras, contact recording technologies (gold standards) and questionnaires has been proposed. Based on these data, the specific objectives of this study are as follows: - To determine the differences according to the factors analysed. - Develop/fine-tune algorithms/AI models to obtain quality rPPG/rBCG signals. - Fine-tune models to obtain the main vital signs as HR, RR, SpO2 and BP from image-based-data. The dataset (namely Freyja/IBV-Dataset) is composed of 73 subjects (35 females and 38 males) with ages ranging from 18 to 85, representation in the 6 skin phototypes according to the Fitzpatrick scale (1), and BMI ranging from 15 to 40. In order to determine the sample size, specific ranges have been defined for each of the intrinsic subject factors and all possible combinations have been covered. The number of subjects defined for each combination was based on the percentage it represents in the Spanish population according to the INE (Instituto Nacional de Estadística). The subjects will be recruited through the own databases of participants in previous trials of the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia, who have given written consent to be contacted in order to request their participation in any other study where their profile may fit. The surveys will be included in an online platform specialized in the realization of questionnaires. This data will be exported for further storage, management and analysis. All information will be anonymized for processing and analysis, and may be used under the terms and conditions dictated by the current legal framework. To participate in the study, participants must accept the terms and conditions included in the first page of the survey embedded in the online platform, where the aspects related to the study methodology and the use of them data are exposed.

Probiotics and the Neurodevelopment in the Premature Infant <32 Weeks Gestational Age and <1500g

Unicentric, quasi-experimental, cohort study to evaluate the effect of combining two probiotics (Bifidobacterium bifidum NCDO 2203 and Lactobacillus acidophilus NCDO 1748) in the neurodevelopment of preterm neonates below 32 weeks' gestation and a birthweight under 1,500 g. This probiotic combination has shown to be safe and beneficial in premature neonates in the prevention of NEC. The investigators hypothesised that this mixture would contribute to better neurodevelopmental outcomes of preterm neonates when assessed at 24 months corrected age. Additionally, neurodevelopment improved would be more relevant at 6 years of age, together with a better pattern of neuronal plasticity biomarkers. Secondarily, this mixture of probiotics could reduce NEC, LOS, intraventricular haemorrhage and neonatal mortality in accordance with previous studies.

Clinical Utility to Follow-up Radiographs During the First Year of Knee Replacement Surgery

Primary prosthetic surgery for the treatment of gonarthrosis is currently one of the most prevalent surgical treatments in Traumatology. The Arthroplasty Register in Catalonia, which started in 2005, counted more than 60.000 knee prothesis until 2015. Regarding the peridiocity for taking control radiographs in patients undergoing knee replacement surgery, there is no consensus. This means, that in similar studies that evaluate the results of prosthetic surgery, there is a great variability in radiological follow-up protocols, especifically during the firts post-operative years. Given the high prevalence and the long survival period demonstrated by these implants, it seems reasonable to be able to establish the real value of the radiographs performed during the first year of follow-up after surgery. From this perspective, the aim of our study is to evaluate if conducting just two radiographs instead of five during the first postoperative year after the surgery, has any influence on the clinical and functional results of our patients.

Influence of Neck Design on Peri-implant Hard and Soft Tissues

The goal of this clinical trial is to test two different implant neck designs in 36 patients. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - do triangular neck designed implants placed immediately after dental extraction have the same influence on peri-implant hard and soft tissues than regular neck designed implants at one year? - do triangular neck designed implants placed immediately after dental extraction have the same influence on peri-implant hard and soft tissues than regular neck designed implants at three years? Participants that present an unrepairable tooth on the anterior upper maxilla will be asked to take a CBCT scan in order to verify the presence of the buccal bone. Once this is verified the patients will enter in the study and the day of the surgery they will be assigned to either control or test group. - Control group: C1 round-neck implant - Test groups: V3 triangular-implant neck Researchers will compare test and control groups to see if they have the same effects on hard and soft tissues at 4 months, 1 year and 3 years.
