There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a randomized, active-controlled, double-blind clinical study designed to evaluate the antiretroviral activity, safety, and tolerability of doravirine/islatravir (DOR/ISL [MK-8591A]) in treatment-naïve participants with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection. It is hypothesized that DOR/ISL is non-inferior to bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (BIC/FTC/TAF) as assessed by the percentage of participants with HIV-1 ribonucleic acid (RNA) <50 copies/mL at Week 48.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of rocatinlimab in monotherapy and combination therapy treatment in adolescent subjects.
The goal of this observational analytic study with a cohort desing is to evaluate the epidemiology, risk factors and clinical phenotype of headache during Influenza infection. The study will be done in collaboration with the Healthcare Sentinel Network of Castile and Leon (Red Centinela Sanitaria de Castilla y León, RCSCYL) and the National Influenza Center of Valladolid (CNGV). First, the historical data of the VIGIRA network of the 2010-2022 flu seasons will be analyzed, assessing the epidemiology and risk factors of headache during Influenza infection; and second, a study with a case series design with prospective follow-up will be carried out for the incident cases of the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 Influenza seasons, evaluating the clinical phenotype and the duration of the headache.
The overall goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the causality relationship between the non vagus nerve stimulation waveform parameters and the therapeutic effect. Thus, unlocking a pathway to optimize parameters that maximize the benefits of therapy and minimize unwanted side effects. The experimental design includes the analysis of physiological signals, clinical biomarkers of disease, and clinical outcomes to determine the most effective measures for the monitoring, optimization, and personalization of non vagus nerve stimulation in systemic lupus erythematosus disease.
In this project the investigators propose to carry out a clinical trial that compares non-endoscopic treatment of cholecystitis with antibiotics versus endoscopic drainage in non-operable acute cholecystitism (AC), especially focused on the rate of subsequent EBP and recurrence of AC, as well as the impact on the quality of life, also exploring the costs. The ultimate goal of this project is to generate knowledge and scientific evidence that makes it easier for health professionals to choose the most appropriate strategy for non-operable patients with lithiasic AC. Ourworking hypothesis is that endoscopic treatment (EUS-GBD) will significantly reduce the number of EBP compared to non-endoscopic treatment in patients with non-operable lithiasic AC.
This is a Phase II, open-label, multi-drug, multi-centre study designed to assess the efficacy, safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and immunogenicity of novel combination therapies in participants with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic gastric or GEJ adenocarcinoma.
Patients undergoing cardiac robotic surgery will receive different pain management after being randomized in 2 groups. Control group will receive standard of care pain management with acetaminophen and morphine in PCA pump, and the intervention group will receive an erector spinae plane block with a continous infusion of local anesthetic. At 3 months the patients will be contacted to assess for pain and ask them for they life quality.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether milvexian compared to placebo reduce the risk of recurrent ischemic stroke.
The investigators objectives is to assess the effectiveness of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing - recent traumatic episode (EMDR-RTE) as a preventive intervention for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms after perinatal loss. The hypothesis is that EMDR-RTE treatment may prevent post-traumatic and depressive symptoms in women who suffered perinatal loss.
Currently, the only study comparing the long-term results of these procedures (two years) is that of Kim.(24) This study is the first randomized, blinded clinical trial comparing ultrasound-guided percutaneous lavage ( UPL) for rotator cuff calcific tendinopathy with subacromial injection vs. Shock (1000 impulses/0.36mJ/mm2), obtaining clinical improvement and reabsorption of calcification in both groups. In this study, greater effectiveness was observed in terms of pain improvement and functional recovery in these patients in the short term than in those undergoing UPL: The results of this study were obtained through radiographic evaluation (AP X-ray of the shoulder) before and after intervention and clinical evaluation in both groups using the scales of the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), the Simple Shoulder Test (SST) and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Our future work may add many interesting data to the comparative study of these two techniques, since it would provide new results, overcoming the limitations of the only similar study in the literature today. On the one hand, the radiological selection of patients will be carried out with shoulder X-rays and a shoulder ultrasound performed by two expert musculoskeletal radiologists from this center and validated by interobserver correlation. This will allow a detailed selection of patients according to the characteristics and phases of the calcification that they present. Sonographically, calcifications are classified into three types (according to Garner's 1993 classification): type I, II and III. As we have previously mentioned, calcific tendinopathy is a self-limited disease and we know that calcifications in phase III or in the resorption phase tend to resolve spontaneously. The control ultrasound that will be performed on the patients will also be performed by the same expert musculoskeletal radiologists who have performed the interobserver correlation study. Secondly , we are going to define a maximum number as well as the exact protocol for carrying out the Eco - guided Puncture Lavage technique . Another contribution of our work is that we will carry out an evaluation of the differences between both techniques up to two years post-treatment, which will allow us to know the long-term evolution of the results.
