NCT ID: NCT00465491 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Small Cell Lung Cancer

Study of Picoplatin Efficacy After Relapse

SPEAR
Start date: April 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Picoplatin is a new type of platinum drug that has been investigated in several clinical trials, and may provide an improved safety profile over current treatment options. This study is designed to compare the efficacy and safety of picoplatin plus Best Supportive Care (BSC) with BSC alone. Best Supportive Care includes care and treatment to optimize the comfort of patients and their ability to function, as well as to minimize the side-effects of anti-cancer treatments.

NCT ID: NCT00464061 Terminated - Clinical trials for Sleep Initiation and Maintenance Disorders

Efficacy an Safety of Volinanserin on Sleep Maintenance Insomnia With a Sub-study on Stable Type II Diabetes Mellitus

SAMS
Start date: April 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess efficacy and safety of volinanserin in the population of patients complaining of sleep maintenance insomnia. The objective of the substudy is to assess glycemic control in the subgroup of patients with type II diabetes mellitus.

NCT ID: NCT00463294 Completed - Clinical trials for the Efficacy and Safety of Off-pump CABG

Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) Off or On Pump Revascularization Study

CORONARY
Start date: October 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

I. Main Research Question: - To compare the risks and benefits of Off-pump Coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) to On-pump CABG and to determine if one is better than the other. - The purpose of this pilot study is also to see the rate of recruitment with expertise-based randomization across different hospital settings. II. Small RCT studies and meta-analyses done so far have not been able to conclusively say which of the procedure is better. A large randomized study is required to establish the risks and benefits associated with both the off-pump and on-pump CABG surgical procedures. III. The study will look at which of the two techniques reduce major risks associated with CABG.

NCT ID: NCT00457691 Completed - Clinical trials for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

Study Of FOLFIRI Chemotherapy With Or Without Sunitinib In Patients With Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of FOLFIRI (Irinotecan, Leucovorin and 5 Fluorouracil) chemotherapy when combined with sunitinib or FOLFIRI chemotherapy without adding sunitinib as the first line treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00457457 Completed - Clinical trials for Prostatic Hyperplasia

Study the Effects of Different Doses of UK-369,003 in Men With Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms.

Start date: May 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a 12 week study in which different doses and formulations of UK-369,003 will be administered to patients with a diagnosis of enlarged prostate. Patients will complete a series of questionnaires before, during and after treatment to assess if UK-369,003 has improved their urinary symptoms and erectile function . There will be several blood samples taken during the study to asses the level of drug in the blood and correlate it with the responses to the questionnaires.

NCT ID: NCT00457392 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Non-Small Cell Lung

A Study In Patients With Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer To Test If Erlotinib Plus SU011248 Is Better Than Erlotinib Alone

Start date: July 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will test whether treatment with erlotinib plus SU011248 is better than erlotinib alone in patients with advanced/metastatic lung cancer who have received previous treatment with a platinum-based regimen.

NCT ID: NCT00457002 Completed - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

Study of Apixaban for the Prevention of Thrombosis-related Events in Patients With Acute Medical Illness

ADOPT
Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to learn if apixaban can prevent blood clots in the leg (deep vein thrombosis [DVT]) and lung (pulmonary embolism [PE]) that sometimes occur within patients hospitalized for acute medical illness, and to learn how apixaban compares to enoxaparin (Lovenox®) for preventing these clots. The safety of apixaban will also be studied.

NCT ID: NCT00452530 Completed - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

Study of an Investigational Drug for the Prevention of Thrombosis-related Events Following Knee Replacement Surgery

ADVANCE-2
Start date: June 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to learn whether apixaban prevents the development of blood clots in the leg (deep vein thrombosis) and lung (pulmonary embolism), which sometimes occur after knee replacement surgery, and to compare the efficacy of apixaban with that of enoxaparin (Lovenox®) in the prevention of these clots. The safety of apixaban will also be studied.
