Postoperative shoulder stiffness is a common complication after shoulder surgery (incidence 10-15%). The symptoms consist primarily in a painful impairment of the mobility of the glenohumeral joint, usually after initially good course. Cause and origin are not clear. Vitamin C is known as an inactivator of free radicals and plays a key role in building collagen tissue. Vitamin C thus has a modulating role in inflammatory reactions. Injured and ill people have been shown to have significantly increased vitamin C needs, which underlines this role. Evidence was also found that vitamin C has a positive influence on similar diseases such as the complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS, Morbus Sudeck) on the wrist and postoperative arthrofibrosis on the knee joint. The Investigators want to investigate whether vitamin C intake can positively influence the incidence and / or severity of postoperative shoulder stiffness after shoulder surgery. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effect of vitamin C on the external rotational ability of the operated shoulder in the glenohumeral joint compared to the opposite side at 12 weeks post surgery. Secondary objectives of this study are to investigate other shoulder mobility tests, patient-reported outcomes (level of pain, ability/return to work, smoking habits), patient-reported questionnaires (Constant Score, Oxford shoulder score, DASH score) and the incidence of a frozen shoulder at 6, 12, 26, and 52 weeks post surgery. Total duration of study: 2.5 years.
The purpose of this study is to describe the safety, tolerability and early signs of efficacy of the antibody-cytokine fusion protein IL12-L19L19 in patients with advanced or metastatic solid carcinomas, after previous immune checkpoint blockade therapy. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the safety of IL12-L19L19 and to establish MTD in order to establish a recommended dose (RD). The secondary objectives of the study are to assess early signs of efficacy, the determination of pharmacokinetic (PK) properties and the immunogenicity of IL12-L19L19.
To test the effectiveness and safety of Optune® given concomitantly with radiation therapy (RT) and temozolomide (TMZ) in newly diagnosed GBM patients, compared to radiation therapy and temozolomide alone. In both arms, Optune® and maintenance temozolomide are continued following radiation therapy.
The goal of this study is to explore whether the availability of serial NT-proBNP measurements together with safety parameters such as electrolytes and creatinine may influence treatment decision in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) leading to more rapid and faster dose increase of prognostic therapies and earlier hospital discharge.

This study is being conducted to better understand the natural course of GM1 gangliosidosis, GM2 gangliosidoses and Gaucher disease Type 2 (GD2). Information is planned to be gathered on at least 180 patients with GM1 gangliosidosis, GM2 gangliosidoses, and Gaucher Disease type 2. Retrospective data collection is planned for at least 150 deceased patients (Group A). Group B is for patients alive at the time of enrollment. In Group B it is planned to prospectively collect more comprehensive data from at least 30 patients. The purpose of this study is to collect relevant information for a adequate design of a potential subsequent research program in these diseases. In this study no therapy is being offered.
Myelofibrosis (MF) is a rare blood cancer, notable for scarring of the bone marrow (the spongy tissue inside bones) and the spleen becoming larger. The purpose of this study is to assess safety and change in spleen volume when navitoclax is given in combination with ruxolitinib, compared to best available therapy, for adult participants with MF. Navitoclax is an investigational drug (not yet approved) being developed for the treatment of MF. Participants in this study will be randomly selected (like picking numbers out of a hat) to be in 1 of 2 treatment arms. Neither participants nor the study doctor will be able to pick which treatment arm a participants enters. In Arm A, participants will receive navitoclax in combination with ruxolitinib. In Arm B, participants will receive the best available therapy (BAT) for MF. Adult participants with a diagnosis of MF that came back or did not get better after earlier treatment will be enrolled. Approximately 330 participants will be enrolled in approximately 210 sites across the world. In Arm A, participants will receive navitoclax tablet by mouth once daily with by mouth ruxolitinib tablet twice daily. In Arm B, participants will receive the BAT available to the investigator. Participants will receive the study drug until they experience no benefit (determined by the investigator), participants cannot tolerate the study drugs, or participants withdraw consent. The approximate treatment duration is about 3 years. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood and bone marrow tests, checking for side effects, and completing questionnaires.

Troponin T (TnT) is a part of the troponin protein complex that principally exists in cardiac and skeletal muscle cells and is widely used as diagnostic biomarker for myocardial injury and, thus, myocardial infarction (MI). Elevated TnT levels can, however, be observed in the presence of other clinical conditions such as heart failure, sepsis and kidney failure and the contemporary high-sensitivity TnT test may yield false positive results when performing diagnostics for suspected MI in these patients. Recent data have demonstrated that in the presence of MI, TnT gradually undergoes fragmentation into smaller fragments. It has been suggested that in the presence of e.g. chronic kidney disease or physical exercise the released TnT is predominantly in the form of smaller fragments. However, the clinical significance of TnT fragmentation is unknown and, thus, we sought to investigate the prevalence of fragmentation of TnT in different patient cohorts.
