There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of upadacitinib compared to placebo in inducing clinical remission (per Adapted Mayo score) in participants with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC).
MenACWY (Menveo) is a GSK vaccine intended for protection against disease caused by meningococcal bacteria groups A, C, W and Y in infants, children and adults, licensed in more than 60 countries. The purpose of this study is to compare the immunogenicity of the currently licensed MenACWY vaccine with the investigational MenACWY liquid vaccine.
This study aims to evaluate the relationship between hard and soft tissue advancement during orthognathic surgery. The use of typical pre and post operative imaging consisting of con-beam computed tomography will be used, in conjunction with a 3D camera to evaluate hard and soft tissue points before and after surgery.
The purpose of this study to determine if the addition of daratumumab to bortezomib + lenalidomide + dexamethasone (VRd) will improve overall minimal residual disease (MRD) negativity rate compared with VRd alone.
AZ201801 is a multicenter study of AZR-MD-001 ointment and AZR-MD-001 vehicle in patients with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) and evaporative Dry Eye Disease (DED)
This is a long-term extension trial to study the safety and tolerability of continued setmelanotide treatment in patients who have completed a previous clinical trial on treatment with setmelanotide for obesity associated with genetic defects upstream of the MC4 receptor in the leptin-melanocortin pathway.
The main goals of total knee replacement (TKR) surgery are to relieve pain and to allow patients to remain active. Sunnybrook is working with Kineris Inc.to advance a wearable device, the Knee Connect, aimed at tracking the physical recovery of patients after total knee replacements. After surgery, patients experience a gradual progression in function as their knee range of motion (ROM) increases and their gait patterns normalize. Goals for these metrics are well documented after the patient is fully recovered. However, there is a lack of detailed information available about the week by week improvements patients make in these metrics. The main objective of this study is to determine the accuracy of the Knee Connect device in quantifying the weekly improvements in ROM and gait parameters of patients recovering from surgery.
Informed by a previous trial in general cancer patients, the investigators aim to conduct a multi-centre Phase III explanatory RCT to demonstrate a significant impact of PTSD Coach on levels of anxiety in head and neck cancer (HNC) patients, including saliva and hair cortisol as bio-immunological indicators for stress. However, prior to proposing a larger trial requiring 267 patients, the investigators aim to demonstrate feasibility of recruitment and compliance with protocol procedures in a Phase II Pilot of 60 newly diagnosed HNC patients. The EG will receive PTSD Coach + usual care, compared to two control groups (UC and AC). AC will be comprised of a game app (e.g., Tetris, Candy Crush, or Solitaire) and will be structurally equivalent to the EG to control for distraction (attention on something pleasant or a task) and the human factor involved in usage prompting (i.e., same exposure time + contacts with personnel), since either distraction or the human contact with staff may, alone, lower anxiety. From a resource allocation perspective, it is important to know if the positive effects of PTSD Coach are due to the intervention itself or to the use of an app and its usage prompting. The investigators believe that PTSD Coach will be even more effective at reducing anxiety in HNC patients, as it teaches specific CBT techniques and uses psychoeducation already found to be more effective than distraction alone.
The objectives of this observational study are to characterize XLH disease presentation and progression and to assess long-term effectiveness and safety of burosumab.
This study is the second of three sub-studies aimed at evaluating the outcomes of the Living Green and Healthy for Teens (LiGHT) program, delivered through the Aim2Be app (v2.2). Aim2Be is an app for 10 to 17 year olds and their families that is intended to help them shift from an healthy lifestyle toward better health habits in four areas: nutrition, physical activity, recreational screen time, and sleep. This second evaluation has the following aims to: 1) describe reach; 2) assess change in knowledge of Canadian health recommendations; and 3) assess change in lifestyle behaviours and weight outcomes and whether these changes are moderated by involvement in the app. This study uses a two-group parallel/crossover randomized controlled trial design following N=200 families for six months.
